These quick little cobblers (some people call them “dump cakes”) are some of my very favorite things to have for dessert. The older I get, the less my heart beats for cakes and cupcakes and the more I want cobblers and pies.
Give me all the cobblers.
And the blackberries.
And since it’s June (the month for peaches!), give me all the peaches too.
You can whip this up in advance and just pop it in the fridge until you’re ready to bake. The perfect patio partner for those late summer nights.
Enjoy!
This recipe serves 6 to 8 adults. You do not make the cake mix. You sprinkle it on the cobbler dry straight from the package.
Shopping List
1 (10 oz) package of frozen blackberries (do not thaw)
1 (10 oz) package of frozen peaches (do not thaw)
1 yellow cake mix
1 stick butter, melted
Ice cream, optional
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease (I used Pam) a 9×13 baking dish.
Spread your frozen blackberries and peaches across the bottom of your baking dish. Next, sprinkle over the box of dry cake mix. Finally, drizzle the melted butter over everything.
Bake uncovered 55-60 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve immediately (with a little ice cream if you so desire).
I promise…you’ll make it once and then make it over and over again.
Enjoy!
