The last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer, Mel and I host our What’s Up Wednesday link up! If you blogged WUW today too, make sure you link up below!
Every month, we answer these questions…
…plus one bonus question. So here we go, this is what’s up with me today…
1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
Well that’s easy! To see what we’re eating, you just need to follow along with my Meal Planning Monday every week! This week, I have something for Meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday, Waffle Wednesday, Turkey Thursday and Burger Friday…plus Dreamsicle Bars because well, it’s July and they’re just delish to make!
If you’ve never tried my Meal Planning Mondays, now’s the time. Before we know it, fall will be in full swing and we’ll be back to those busy schedules where the last thing we have time to fret over is dinner.
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Last weekend in Nantucket for sure! We had such a good time and I’m still thinking about it!
3. WHAT I’M LOVING:
The Good Wife! Oh goodness, I’m already on season 2 friends! Remember two weeks ago when I finished Downton Abbey and asked you ladies for suggestions? Well, here’s what happened: I was heading to do cardio all geared up to watch Call the Midwife (per your suggestion) but that show wasn’t included for free with my Amazon Prime membership, so I thought, okay, I’ll try Homeland but that required me downloading the Showtime App (and again, I’m trying to workout at this point, so I really didn’t have time to download apps), then I tried Castle but…that show isn’t free on my app, so my last effort was your suggestion of The Good Wife and oh heavens, it should have been my first choice. I LOVE THIS SHOW! Why didn’t I watch it when it was actually on? Is it weird to say that I think the name threw me off? I love it. Love. It. Thank you for the suggestion! I’m working my way through season 2 now! (And PS: when this series is over, I’m going to stop being lazy and figure out how to watch those other shows…because I bet they’re equally as good!).
4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Did somebody say Nantucket?
5. WHAT I’M DREADING:
Summer ending.
Shocking for me to type that…but it’s true. As excited as I am about the arrival of fall, I’ll be sad to see summer go. I love the extra time at home with my kids, I love the lazy days, all of the summer activities, no homework, no lunch making (you know…lunchbox making!), and the easy schedule. I’ll miss you summer.
6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Ha! My list is always long…but most pressing, I’m working on purging a bit from our closets and playroom before school starts. If my kids had blogs and participated in What’s Up Wednesday, their answer to “What I’m Dreading:” would be, “my mom always telling us we have to purge and organize”. I like to stay on top of the clutter. 😉
7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Well, I’m going to be on the Hallmark Channel in two weeks. I’m flying out to LA for the day to film a cooking segment on Hallmark’s Home & Family show. As soon as I have exact details on when it will air (I believe it’s the following day), I’ll let you know.
8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
My July Book Review will be next week! And as for what I’m watching…I’m pretty sure we covered The Good Wife, right? #yes #love #stillmissladyvioletthough
To see all of the books I’ve read so far this year (and see their reviews), click HERE.
9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Want to know the truth? Right now, it’s 2:44 PM and I’m on the flight back to Dallas from Boston sitting in my airplane seat blogging in air…while listening to Rod Stewart sing from his Great American Songbook Albums on my iPhone. #truestory #noshame #iheartrod #andstandards
10. WHAT I’M WEARING:
I’m actually able to wear many of the things I bought at this year’s Anniversary Sale now! New fall clothes that work for summer too? Total win!
In my Nantucket post, I was wearing this top but with white jeans and flats (wedges work too!). Now, the jeans, necklace and top here are currently sold out (boo), but the booties and jacket are still available! Don’t forget that I bought the booties in burgundy but they’re available in other colors too (and they’re so comfy!).
And then these booties are a definite favorite of mine this year! Loooove them so much! I paired them with my new black tank from the sale too!
One thing that is still in stock plus can also be worn right now? My PJ Salvage pajamas. Every year, they’re my favorite thing from the sale :).
If you haven’t ENTERED TO WIN MY $400 GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY, you better act fast! The winners (2 people will win!) will be picked tonight and announced tomorrow. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Click HERE to enter to win.
11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Oh friends, I’m taking care of some kiddos this weekend. Two of my babies are having procedures this week, so I will be Dr. Mom for the next week or so. Prayers always coveted. Thank you in advance for loving on my family like you do. I’ll update you next week and let you know how they’re doing.
12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Enjoying our last days of summer.
13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Not a whole lot. Just doing our normal thing around here.
14. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT SUMMER:
All of that extra time with these three.
Happy Wednesday friends!
I hope you come back tomorrow because not only am I announcing the winners of our first giveaway, I’m introducing our SECOND giveaway. #thankyounordstrom
xoxo

I am Crossing my fingers that I win that Nordstrom GC. I have done some sale damage but still have more on my list. Today is my birthday (and my sons) and that gift certificate would be a perfect gift!!

How freaking awesome you’re going to be on Hallmark Home & Family!! Congrats!! I loved your Nantucket recap, that has been on my list ever since I read my first E.H. book! I’ve been looking into it though, and is Nantucket more of a place to sight see and eat or can you actually do a beach vacation there? I wasn’t finding many options for renting houses/condos on the water so I wasn’t sure.
Kimm says
How fun about the hallmark channel! Purging and organizing is definitely on my to do list also!!!

Oh Shay, I swear you’re my spirit animal! That Rod Stewart album is probably my favorite album of all time. Like, if I was going to a dessert island and I could only take one, it would likely be the one that I would take. It’s by far the most listened to album in my entire library… As a matter of fact, I just listened to it last night while I was cooking. :o) It just makes me so happy! Definitely a feel good album. I even talked about it today in my post as well!

Loved the Good Wife!! My husband was so relieved when I was finally done binge watching it!! ????

Oh my goodness…THE GOOD WIFE!!!! The Good Wife and Castle were my two favorite shows for the past few years and they both went off the air at the same time! I am going through major withdrawal! 🙁 PLEASE, PLEASE brace yourself for season 5 and DO NOT GOOGLE WHAT HAPPENS! You will be shocked, and it will take you awhlie to recover. That is all. 🙂 I’m currently binge watching old episodes of Alias. I forgot how good that show was!
Anna Haley says
Oh my goodness! I’m on season 2 of The Good Wife too and I love it! Started it about 3 weeks ago and I CAN’T STOP! I watch at least 3 episodes a night and it’s keeping me up way too late! Definitely a good pick that I don’t want to end!

That was a sweet post. My kids are older now, but I still enjoy the unscheduled days of summer – even though there are far fewer of them (HS and college kids are BUSY!)
I’m listening to Rod Stewart now, looking to see which Elin Hildebrand books I have missed, and making my meal plan for next week.. You have such influence! 🙂
Thanks for your blog. It is a favorite of mine.
Julie says
