Oktoberfest 2015
Today, is my favorite day of the year.
I don’t remember when I decided it was my favorite day of the year, I was probably like five, but nevertheless, it is :). I love September 1st because it signifies the very first day of my favorite time of the year. Give me all the pumpkins, the cider, the sweaters. Give me the football, the food, the weather. Lead me into the twinkle lights and carols too. I love September 1st. Everyone should have a favorite day of the year and today is mine.
If you don’t have enough fall in your life, look no further than my Pinterest boards…

Ebby Lee was more excited about watching Ashby at dance than going to class herself! She told me that she did so great she almost reared up watching her. Haha!

Happy September! Ashby’s purse is so cute – do you remember where you got it? My girls are dying for purses of their own, and they would love one like that. I’m so glad her procedure went well yesterday too!

I wish I did! We typically just order them off the internet from random websites.

Adorable pictures. Yay Fall! I love that you have a favorite day of the year. So glad everything went well with Ashby’s surgery. Praying that for healing and that she would be free of pain.

Am I missing something or is there an extra little girl in that boat?
Mix and Match Mama says
Hahaha! That’s the neighbor’s granddaughter :).

Such sweet pictures! Love the dance pics! I love September too! It also means that it is a four month stretch with each month having a holiday! And yes, we count Halloween as a holiday because the kids usually get out of school on or day after…and even though my kids are older they still love getting things ready for the littles all around us! Woohoo! Bring on fall!!! Ready for sweaters, boots and football!!!

So funny about the rocks! My kindergarten daughter collects rocks and brought home two pockets full this week! I don’t think it’s just a boy thing!

I keep a big jar in my laundry room, and when I find things in my son’s pockets – they go into the jar. Rocks, coins, bouncy balls, pipe cleaners, Pom poms – I plan on giving him the jar when he’s older 🙂

Where did you find Kensington’s cute black lace tank for dance? Super cute! Looking for some good websites to order cute dance clothes. Thanks!

My daughter used to put little rocks in her shoes at recess. I have no idea how she walked on them the rest of the day. She did it for about two years; they were for her rock collection… She is in 7th grade now and has stopped 🙂

I have a 10 year old boy and I wish I would’ve kept everything I’ve found in his pockets in a jar like I’ve seen on Pinterest…except one time he put his turkey sandwich from lunch (at school) in his pocket. I had quite the surprise when I checked pockets that day! Lol!!
Melanie says
That Ashby. I could just squeeze her! Love her!

Boys and their pocket treasures. One time when my son was in Kindergarten he came home with a little tiny dill pickle in his pocket. He found it on the floor of the cafeteria and just had to bring it home to show me because he thought it was so cute. Sweet memories- he’s in high school now!

HI Shay, I can relate to the rocks in the pockets. My 4 year old has to pick up rocks everyday from the parking lot, for his rock collection. I am not sure why, but he has to have at least 2 everyday. The other day, I told him to go play with his rock collection, and he immediately corrected me, stating that they were not toys, they were rocks, so we can’t play with them. I had no words, I just said OK and walked away. Love being a BOY mom!
Erin says
You’ve officially given me permission…just put out my fall wreaths on the front doors. Bring it!!

Jackie used to have his pockets filled with rocks!! I told him he has to leave them outside, because that’s their home.

I’m so glad to hear that everything went well with Ashby’s procedure yesterday. I hope that she heals quickly and that she isn’t in too much pain for too long like last time.
And I totally feel you about the boys with rocks in their pockets… our son is constantly picking them up and putting them in his pockets and half the time I forget to check before I put stuff in the wash and I’ll hear them banging around in there. Haha. We put a glass container on his bedside table to start housing all of the rocks he picks up. He has quite the collection. :o)
Carla says
Oh my, the rocks! All of my kids have collected them – we finally had to have a conversation that “special rocks” were fine to collect HOWEVER filling your pockets with someone’s patio or driveway rocks wasn’t really very special!!
G.T. says
Can I say how much I love your blog and how it celebrates the everyday in a mommy’s life? I hope all will be well with Ashby’s treatments.
Megan says
The rocks!!!!! I’m cracking up!! Why do boys love rocks so much!!! Those looked heavy too! Silly boy!

I had to have a 5 year old boy dump about 20 rocks from his pockets after recess today. Needless to say he wasn’t happy but I’m sure his teacher and mother were appreciative.
