‘Tis that time of year for one of my very favorite things…our scarf exchange!
So, I blog about this every year because it’s such a fun idea that you and your friends should do too! This was our fifth year in a row to have one and I’m telling you…it gets more and more fun every year.
Here’s what we do:
1: We always do it at the beginning of September because it gets us in the fall mood.
2: Everyone brings a scarf wrapped up so that we can’t see what the scarf looks like. (You can set a budget so that everyone is paying the same amount.)
3: We write down numbers on pieces of paper for how many of us there are. So if there are 12 of us, we write 1-12 on little strips of paper and then we all draw a random number.
4: Number one goes first and picks a scarf. They open and we all admire. Then #2 can either steal a scarf or pick another random wrapped package. And this goes on and on (like a White Elephant Exchange you might do at Christmas). The scarf can only be stolen twice before it gets frozen and then cannot be stolen again. At the end, we let #1 go again and she can either keep her original scarf or exchange it with anyone wearing an unfrozen scarf.
Here is a little look back at our scarf exchanges…

And then last night, we had ours for 2016…
This year, we decided to incorporate food into our scarf exchange. Up until this year, we always met at Starbucks and sipped coffee while exchanging…but we decided to add food :). Narci hosted us this time and we had so much fun!
Okay, if your friends aren’t into scarves, then change it up! Host a bracelet exchange, candle exchange, bath product exchange, etc. This is such a fun way to spend a girls night out!
I love my friends so much. I simply do not have the words to express how much these women mean to me. This is always one of my favorite things to do each and every year.

My friends and I have been doing this every year since 2006 but with ornaments at Christmas time! So much fun! Then as I put up the tree each year, it’s great to reminice which ones I got from the exchange!

I ADORE THIS! My girlfriends and I have been doing a Christmas ornament/Scarf exchange every December since 2008. It’s one of my favorite traditions each year, and such a great way to kick off the Christmas season. I love that you guys do yours in September to kick off fall. Such a great idea!

I like the scarfs instead of a random gift. This way everyone knows what they are getting.

This really is such a great idea! I think I may put something fun together for my girlfriends before the craziness of the holidays begin. I love the idea of maybe doing a Fall candle exchange or even Fall decor. Maybe then, I’d get one of those cute glittery pumpkins in the background, lol!
