A Cheeseburger Joe because…it just makes sense. It’s a sloppy joe that tastes like a cheeseburger and is ready in no time flat. Hello dinner!
This recipe serves four.
Shopping List
1 pound of ground beef
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
salt and pepper
1 onion, chopped
1 cup of ketchup
1½ tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
burger buns
chopped dill pickles to garnish
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown up your ground beef in a drizzle of EVOO. Once it’s browned and crumbly, sprinkle in a big pinch of both salt and pepper before stirring in your chopped onion. Saute the onion and beef about five minutes until the onion is tender. Next, stir in your ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce and one cup of your shredded cheddar. Reduce heat to low and allow everything to simmer together about five minutes.
Serve your sloppy joe mixture on top of your burger bun and garnish with the remaining cheddar and chopped dill pickles.
Such a quick and easy little supper!

I have been craving a burger lately, and this seems like such a great way to switch it up!

Quick Question! Mine were super red and ketchuppy (is that word). I loved them but some of my family members said it was too ketchuppy. Any suggestions! And this is getting put on the weekly rotation. I served it on slider buns.

Was it too saucy? (Maybe that’s a better word 😉 ). Just reduce the sauce next time a bit to your liking!
