‘Tis grill season.
If you’re looking for an easy recipe for Bacon Wrapped Filets, then look no further than here! Quick little marinade, two pieces of bacon and some crumbled Gorgonzola and you’re done!
Now, we’ve learned (the hard way), that the best way to grill steaks is to start with good quality meat. We buy our steaks from our meat shops on our town square. We’ve realized that the better the cut of meat, the better the supper. If you have a local meat shop, you should totally check it out!
Happy grillin’!
This recipe serves four.
Shopping List
4 pieces of filet mignon (or any cut of steak you like!)
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
a few really good pinches of Kosher of sea salt
a few really good pinches of cracked black pepper
about 8 chives, snipped
8 pieces of bacon, uncooked
toothpicks to hold the bacon in place
crumbled Gorgonzola to go on top
Preheat your outdoor grill to high.
You can marinate your steaks as little or as long as you like. I try and marinate them over night if I have time, but sometimes, I just drizzle it on right before we throw them on the grill. In a big gallon-sized baggie, I place my steaks inside along with the Worcestershire sauce, EVOO, salt, pepper and chives. Seal and refrigerate until you’re ready to grill.
When you’re ready to grill, take out your steaks, discarding the marinade, and wrap two pieces of bacon around each one (securing them with a a toothpick).
Place your steaks on your preheated grill and grill to your liking. We like ours a little medium-well, so we sear them on high for two minutes before reducing the heat to medium and continue grilling about 12 minutes without flipping. About two minutes before you remove them from the grill, sprinkle your Gorgonzola down on top.
Remove from grill and serve with your favorite sides.
Easy as that!

Looks delicious! We aren’t fans of Gorgonzola or blue cheese…would goat cheese taste ok or another cheese? (We could always leave the cheese off…but what fun is that ?)
