Happy happy happy Friday Eve, friends!
Today, instead of my usual Life Lately, I’m sharing Ann Taylor Lately.
Here’s the deal…when Ann Taylor and ShopStyle reached out and asked me if I wanted to work with them on a sponsored post about work wear, I immediately said thank you for asking, but I work in pjs and/or workout clothes these days, so I don’t think that makes sense for me. Buuuuut then, I started thinking…just because I don’t wear work clothes anymore doesn’t mean you guys don’t, so I reached back out and asked them if I could do a dressing room post to show what I would wear if I were back in an office again and they said YES!
So, that brings us to today.
Before I opened my travel agency, I worked in an office and had “work clothes” that I wore all the time. In fact, I remember having a hard time finding things to wear on Saturdays because my closet was dominated by “work wear” (that I could also wear to church), but not casual wear.
I made a date to head to my local Ann Taylor store but told myself that I would only try on things that I could have worn to my insurance job and transition to weekends. I had zero expectations when I went…but you know what? I ended up finding FIVE things that I loved and bought them myself! I don’t have an office job anymore…but this stuff totally just worked for my lifestyle now too. #winning
So, here’s what I found (along with what I bought). The lighting wasn’t great in both the dressing room and outside of it, so I apologize in advance. I kept channeling my “Insurance Shay” self and picked things I would wear if I still worked at my former job…
This dress (also in navy)!
Now, this doesn’t really transition to weekend wear, but it sure would transition to church. My favorite part were the sleeves…
…super, super cute!! It zips up the back too, so it was easy to step in and out. Did you see what I paired with it??? Looky….
…how cute are these two bracelets?! I ended up buying both of them because they were just so cute and elevated my wrist stack. The sparkly pave one is HERE and the other one is HERE.
Next, I tried on these stretchy ankle pants that were so easy to wear with this cute sleeveless top. These pants were so comfortable!!! They had stretch all the way through, but the material was thick (not like a legging), so there was coverage. I loved the pearl detailing on the top too!
Then, I “topped” it with this super cute jacket! LOVE!
ANKLE PANTS/SLEEVELESS TOP/CUTE JACKET
Speaking of cute coats, Ann Taylor had several that I loved like this one too…
…isn’t that cute?! It’s kind of a blush color. I also liked this one too…
How cute is this jacket?! I feel like it says “wear me to work or on a date!”.
Okay, this next sweater was one of my faves, but I do not think the photos do it justice…
…it’s a sleeveless sweater with the cutest buttons down the side. The whole thing looked so pulled together when I paired it with these jeans with the pearl detail…
…I was so obsessed with these jeans that I bought them too!! How fun will they be on a date night? Or even if I just want to jazz up a plain old Tuesday. They would be great for a casual Friday at the office too! They are mid-rise and have stretch to them, so the fit is just perfect.
See the cute buttons down the side? So fun! Online it’s paired with a blouse underneath the tunic and it also comes in grey.
You know what else I came home with??? This top…
…so, I paired this top with those jeans, but to dress it up, you could wear it with the black pants too. It’s just a nice top to wear anywhere. I liked how it was longer in length and thick enough that I didn’t need to wear a cami underneath it. Both the jeans and top will work so nicely for my routine…and I don’t even go into an office 🙂 .
Those two colors together just scream FALL! I bought this one but also tried it on in black…
So, I came home with the two bracelets, the jeans, that top and this…
…look at this cute sweater!! I was in love!! I already wore this on Saturday and felt t-otally pulled together. This sweater would look cute with black pants or a pencil skirt too.
Clearly, I need to be shopping at Ann Taylor more often!
Here I am on Saturday ready to conquer the day!
So cute!! This top gives me all the happy feels!
So, that was fun! I am going to make sure I’m popping back into Ann Taylor more often because I really did find some cute things for me! What I realized was that you can find pieces in there that are more casual (what I would need right now) or effortlessly chic pieces for those of you that need to really dress for work (and everyone in between!). These pieces were all so versatile and would work for office wear or can be added for weekend wear too! I made a little widget of other work wear pieces you might like from there right now. These were all work wardrobe pieces I really loved too! You can just scroll through and click below…
A little Ann Taylor Lately for your Thursday.
I’ll be back here tomorrow. See you then! xo

I always felt like AT may be a little too dressy for my daily loo, but I love these jackets and the sleeveless sweater! Thanks for the review. I will be checking out their web site today!!
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s exactly what I thought too, Susan!
Jess says
Really cute stuff!! I’ve never really shopped at Ann Taylor. More.of a Loft girl but makes sense that Ann Taylor would have just as cute stuff. Thanks for the post!

I love that tunic sweater you tried on! I’m always looking for tunics like that that I can wear with my spanx leggings!

You look cute in everything!!! Are the shoes you’re wearing in your AT pics available?

Those are oldies from Steve Madden.

Hi! Where are those cute Mary Jane type heels from?! Brand??

They’re Steve Madden from about two years ago.

I have that last sweater in my bag right now… would you say it’s true to size? So cute while the weather is changing right now!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, I would!
Beth Knecht says
Yay for workwear! While I love the casual wear, I need to be a bit more dressy to teach, so I love having options to mix and match more formal wear with more relaxed wear!
Lori S H says
You should wear Ann Taylor more often! Love your picks!
Alissa says
I just bought that cute grey sweater at the end of your post! I can’t wait to wear it and never would have thought about shopping there. Your posts are so fun but dangerous to my wallet (in a good way, of course)! 🙂 And yes they have a promo of $50 off! Amazing!
Debbie says
I work from home too Shay but these are all pieces I could wear going out too and they look great! Fun having you as our personal shopper! ?
Clare Butler says
I love the sleeveless sweater! Gonna grab one for myself right now!
Daniele says
I always appreciate a post with an elevated look! Love the work wear inspiration. Thanks for the new ideas and for sharing your finds.
Ashley says
I am SO happy you did this post!!! What did you think of the sizing, especially the pants? I’ve heard Ann Taylor runs big, but there’s so many things you posted about I need to get!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I sized down. Instead of getting a 2 in the jeans, I bought a 0. I completely agree!
Beth Valenta says
That sweater! What a great deal. I usually stick with LOFT, but need to look here too.
Enjoying first FALL day here in VA.
Ashleigh says
Did you try on any shoes? I love their shoes for work! The shapes are so pretty, and the price point is good. Even better when they have a sale 🙂
mary says
I usually shop Ann Taylor over the Loft. My office is on the casual side of business casual and I wear a ton of their stuff all the time. You can definitely make it as dressy or casual as you want 🙂
Alexa G says
Hey Shay what size did you get in the last top? The grey one? I’m not sure if I should size up or not. I feel like AT normally runs larger than some other brands. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
xsmall! I find them to run a tad larger as well.
Charmaine Ng | Architecture & Lifestyle Blog says
Shay, you look beautiful! I’ve never shopped at Ann Taylor before – don’t think they have branches in Hong Kong – but the pieces are so cute. 🙂

I don’t know if I’m more excited for all these fun AT finds, or today’s brussel sprout recipe!!! You look adorable in all these looks!
April Bryan says
Where are your black shoes from? Super cute!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re Steve Madden, but I believe they’re two years old.
Amy Azza says
HI Shay,
I love all those clothes and they all look great on you! A general comment I had is that it seems you have a large budget for clothes so when you highlight clothes on your blog they are all very pricey. Could you do a post sometime on clothes that are way less expensive? I absolutely love your clothes and your style but don’t have the budget to spend hundreds on just a few pieces. Thank you!
Angela Ellingson says
I love these posts as I need all the help I can get in the fashion department and I rarely make time to go shopping. Everything you shared is so cute! But then again, everything looks good on you, so it may be deceiving. LOL
SC McKay says
Love the teal colored dress withe cute cuffs and the ankle pants! Thank you for sharing!
Ella says
I love shopping at Ann Taylor and Loft for everyday clothing, dressy clothing, casual, accessories etc.
They always have the best selection. The only issue is the sizing, they run very big. Often nothing really fits.
Meg says
Thank you for helping out us office working mommas!
Elyse says
Is the sizing the same as Loft? Would you mind shating what sizes you got in the top and sweater? That would be helpful!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I bought and tried on the same sizes that I do at Loft. Xsmalls for tops and dresses and 0 for bottoms and dresses (depending on how dresses were sized). I find them to run a tad bigger than other stores.

Oh Dear!
Lately when I click on your link from my email, I am inundated with spammy ads while reading your latest post. I really enjoy your blog too.
Erin Port says
I haven’t been in there in forever either but I will have to stop in the next time I go to the mall 🙂
