Well, we’re suckers for anything pumpkin around here and hot chocolate…so, I combined the two 🙂 .
I love making hot chocolate in the slow cooker for many reasons: it’s easy, it keeps warm for a long time (great for entertaining), it’s quick and it’s delicious. I decided to make this particular hot chocolate at 1:30 one afternoon, so that when my kids got home from school (around 3:15), it would be ready to go. They loved it!! I loved it too! Now, because I put pumpkin in the recipe, it is a little thicker than my other slow cooker hot chocolates, but equally delicious.
Happy pumpkin sippin’ season!
This makes enough to serve a crowd! Depending on how big your mugs are, depends on how much this yields. You will use a gallon of milk for this recipe…so you should have plenty for a party! This recipe is simple to divide as well, so you can make half as much if you’re only serving your family.
Shopping List
2 (14 oz) cans of sweetened condensed milk
2 (12 oz) bags of white chocolate chips
1 gallon of milk (I used 2%)
1 (14 oz) can of pumpkin
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
Marshmallows to garnish, optional (we used pumpkin spice marshmallows)
2 (14 oz) cans of sweetened condensed milk
2 (12 oz) bags of white chocolate chips
1 gallon of milk (I used 2%)
1 (14 oz) can of pumpkin
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
Marshmallows to garnish, optional (we used pumpkin spice marshmallows)
For easy clean up, use a slow cooker liner.
In your slow cooker, layer in your sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips. Turn slow cooker to high and stir every 15 minutes for the first 30 minutes (this will help it melt faster). Once your chocolate chips have melted, whisk in your milk, pumpkin, cinnamon and vanilla. Cover and continue to cook on high as you serve this cocoa for the next 3 to 4 hours. Continue to stir periodically. Garnish with marshmallows.
That’s it! Keep it cooking on high so that it stays warm as guests enjoy it.
I served my kiddos first and then photographed second. This sweet thing wanted an extra mug…so, she hung around 🙂 . Love her so much!

Do you use a different size crockpot for your hot chocolate and dip recipes??
Mix and Match Mama says
Nope! With a gallon of milk, it fills it up at least half way.

If you’re just serving for a small family could you half it? I’d love to make it, but it would basically be myself & 4 yr old drinking it.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!! This recipe splits nicely in half!
