Today is the first Tuesday Talk of the year!
If you’re new around here, let me explain. Once a month, I link up with Ashley and Erika (who host this fun little blog link up), and you blog about anything and everything. Easy, right?
This month, I have a confession.
I’m using oils.
Again.
Hahahaha!
Okay, let me start from the beginning.
I tried using essential oils like four or five years ago. My friends that use them are obsessed and are always talking about how life changing they are…well, I want my life changed too. So, a few years ago, I gave it a go with the assumption that it would keep my kids healthier and we wouldn’t get sick. I believe it was the year that Kensington started kindergarten, and, based on what my friends with older kids had told me, I was under the impression that a kinder class was a breeding ground for any and every communicable disease known to mankind, so I got me some oils. And I used said oils for like 6 months (until all of my oils ran out), and we really didn’t get sick at all. Buuuuuuuuuut…then several things happened. One, I got lazy and stopped using them/didn’t reorder any and then, I kind of told myself that my kiddos (thankfully) don’t really get sick, so was it the oils or just luck? And so I stopped. And honestly, didn’t think about them again for years until…
…Brooke (you guys all know my friend Brooke) showed up at our daughters’ dance lesson this past fall and sat by me with her Young Living catalog and it was THE CHRISTMAS EDITION.
Guys.
I would be interested in a catalog filled with farm equipment if it had a Christmas theme and big glittery red bows tired around the John Deere stuff.
#iamsuchasuckerforanythingholidayrelated
So, instead of reading my book that day, I read Brooke’s catalog and ordered an embarrassing amount of oil stuff.
Brooke had been swearing by this stuff for months and told me exactly what she used, so I bought all of that.
And then, I went home…and Andrew rolled his eyes so big that I’m pretty sure he needed an Advil when he was done.
(I mean, this wasn’t my first rodeo with oils, so I totally see why he was like “yeah, sure you’re going to use that stuff”…but he knows what a sucker I am for anything that has the label “Christmas spirit” on it…sigh.)
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut…I started using them and friends, now Andrew is obsessed too.
Hahahahaha!
I feel so vindicated right now.
Okay, I say all of this because I’m still such an oil newby, so I’m going to tell you what I’m using and what I like and then if you’re an oily person out there too, please share. Brooke has been SO HELPFUL with her suggestions and ideas (and if you’ve never tried oils and want to order some, you should use her for guidance!), but it’s always fun to hear what my friends in blog land think too.
What turned Andrew around on the oil stuff was us sleeping with a diffuser in our room that had a combination of Thieves and lavender. The first night I diffused this in our room, he and I both got the best Sleep Number score that we’d had in MONTHS! (We bought a Sleep Number bed almost two years ago and it was one of the BEST investments we’ve ever made, and every morning, it gives you a sleep score on the app. You can read all about how much I love my bed HERE.) That turned him. Since then, we haven’t missed a single night at home without diffusing this combination AND we bought a diffuser for each of the kids’ rooms too. We have the Young Living diffuser, but if I’m being honest, I like THESE on Amazon even more (we own five of them!).
My favorite thing (so far) about the oils is diffusing them while we sleep, but I’ve also taken to drinking a few drops of orange or lemon oil in my plain water and really like that too. I have been diffusing their pine scent in my office each morning and it just smells divine. Along with that, I have also been taking their Life 9, Super B and Super Cal vitamins.
So, I’m dipping my toe back in oil world, but this time, I’m hoping it sticks longer than six months (I’ve already had to re-order some things, so that should be a good sign, right?!). All of you oily people out there, please share your favorite thing to do with oils and for those of you who aren’t oily (yet), but want to learn more, you can reach out to Brooke at brooke.rich09@gmail.com or you can shop the site and place an order with her member number 16464436. She said she would be more than happy to answer questions you have via email!!
Happy Tuesday, everyone!! Let’s go diffuse something now. Hahahahaha!

I’ve never been into essential oils myself… or maybe I just haven’t discovered the magic of them yet? The way you described them certainly sounds nice, though! 🙂

Genevieve says
Shay, Do you use any oils to help protect your family from colds when you are on a plane or taking vacations?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t yet, but after all of these suggestions, I think I might start!
Jodie says
Make sure you only use your citrus oils in a glass or stainless steel. No plastic or styrofoam or it breaks down the all the toxins and you’ll be drinking those.
My favorite blend for sleep is peace and calming. You HAVE to try it!
We also have roll ons of a blend for immune support and the kids put it on their feet every morning.
I could go on and on, but I’m so glad you’re using them again. Cinnamon bark and Christmas spirit was diffusing for the entire holiday season. Mmmm so good.
Your friend is so lucky to have your support and post like this. Happy oiling!!
Erika Slaughter says
Thanks to Brooke, we’re all going oily!! I really do nothing but diffuse them. I love the way my house is smelling though-very spa like. 🙂
Ann Marie Tennison says
Me too, me too!! I’ve replaced my candles!
Misty A. Shirley says
What oils do you use for the spa-like smell?
Susan says
I love my essential oils! I started using them because my son was having to take two prescription allergy medications and one was making him a little aggressive. We stopped all allergy medications and started using a roll on made with lemon, lavender, peppermint and copiaba. We used it twice a day and within a couple of weeks his allergies were under control. I haven’t looked back. We have diffusers in all the bedrooms too! We also use them for tummy troubles. Peppermint and digize are amazing!
AngieN says
Susan, my grandson could sure use something for tummy troubles! So just to clarify — you use peppermint and digize for that?
kristy says
Digize is AMAZING!! Any time me or any of my kids have an upset stomach, I rub it on the tummy with a carrier oil and within a very short amount of time, there’s a trip to the bathroom and tummy troubles are gone. I don’t know how it works so amazingly well but it really does.
Jayne says
So interesting that you mentioned your son’s behavior on allergy medicine. Several years ago we had the same experience with my daughter, and I didn’t think about the correlation until someone else mentioned it. She basically turned into a pathological liar for the few weeks that she was taking a particular med regularly – the magnitude of change in her personality/behavior was stunning! Thankfully allergies aren’t an issue for her now but I’d definitely be going the oil route if it was. It makes you wonder how many people have similar experiences but don’t make the connection to the medication.
Lisa says
Is the peppermint and digize(I’ve never heard of that) I’m new to oils, for the belly?
Beth Knecht says
Christmas Spirit is amazing!
Right now I’m loving citrus fresh!
It’s smells so clean and fruity!
Magee Shepler says
Try adding cedarwood to your nighttime diffuser! The lavender/cedarwood combo is my all time favorite. Peppermint for headaches is also so great; a little bit on the roof of your mouth or back of your neck is so helpful (definitely a strong feeling though, so maybe dilute with coconut oil for directly on your skin!). Lavender, lemon, and peppermint diffused together is SO GOOD too!
Kiley H. says
Can I second this cedarwood is the absolute best for sleep!!
Jaren says
I love YL oils!!! My favorites are the lemons: Meyer Lemon, Lemongrass, Jade Lemon…they just smell so fresh. I love to diffuse lemongrass and purification during the day. I also put those two on dryer balls sometimes and skip the dryer sheet. We make the roller balls too (or you can order them). When I hear about kids at school being sick, I start getting out my roller balls and rub Thieves down their spines and on their feet.
Angela Ellingson says
I now know how Andrew feels having you love a rival team. Hahahaha just kidding. We use DoTerra at our house. A LOT. We diffuse in the bedrooms at night as well as on our main level during the day. Some favorites are on guard, breathe, serenity (at night) and lavender. We take the supplements (our kiddos too – the kiddo version). We often add citrus oils to our water but sometimes an oil for digestion. My husband puts frankincense and copaiba in his water every day. We use the shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, hand sanitizer, and hand soap. I use one called Yarrow Pom as my moisturizer. I have a great lip gloss. We use past tense/peppermint for headaches. There’s an incredible oil/lotion called deep blue for sore muscles. We DIY things with oils too, like bug spray, after sun spray, moisturizer, face wash, my hubby’s hair stuff… So that’s a few of the ways we use oils at our house. My believer story: I had a sebaceous cyst on the bottom of my foot a few years ago (very painful). Long story short the doctor ended up cutting it out and stitching me up. Then I got another one in my outer breast/armpit area a year ago. I went to the doctor to verify because obviously that is an especially scary area to have a lump. It was the same thing. Someone told me to apply 2 oils to it and it was gone 3 days later! Such a relief. Anyway, happy oil using!
Drew says
Hi Angela! Could you elaborate on what oils you used to get rid of it? I have a similar spot in my armpit/outer breast and the doctors told me not to worry about it as well, but it is a bit painful.
Jill says
I don’t know what Angela used but I used frankincense to get rid of a sebaceous cyst. I had a large one on my collarbone that the dr was hesitant about removing. I put a dab of frankincense on it for about 2 weeks. Then it got somewhat of a pore looking dot in the middle of it and I decided to squeeze it. Holy moly did it open up and drain. Totally gross, but that was the end of my cyst.
Rebecca says
Angela – can I ask what two oils you used for the cyst? Have one as well and would like to try the oil method! Thanks in advance!
Casey says
I just learned recently that DoTerra’s testing methods are somewhat sketchy. ?
Jan says
I think it depends on to whom you speak about DoTerra vs Young Living. I use DoTerra because my neighbor is a consultant and it was easy to get started. If she had been a consultant for YL I probably would have used that. I think they are the two best. I’m a single older woman. I swear by On Guard and defuse it all fall and winter and into spring. This year I got a car defuser and use On Guard there too.
Melody says
I’ve read good and bad for both companies. You just have to do your own research and decide what is important for you.
Margaret says
What oils did you apply for the cyst? Thanks!
Jess says
Love oils! I just bought a diffuser for my shower. Amazing! Grapefruit oil has been my current fav. The essential life book is like a medical book for me. Any ailment I look up the best oils for it! I havent tried young living yet, currently with DoTerra but I’ll have to check young living out as well. Oils are amazing but yes, easy to forget about them sometimes! Especially if you put them away. I leave mine out and put a few in my purse (lemon, peppermint).
Elspeth Mizner says
I’m big into diffusing oils! I love the use lavender when i sleep and orange or lemon when i clean. Not only do they smell so good but they actually work! Great investment
Laura M says
I’ve used oils off and on the last few years because I’ve always doubted if they “really” worked. But my 6 year old daughter has asthma and the nights I don’t diffuse the Breathe oil in her room I can tell a difference! We are about to travel for a month and I packed my diffuser and oils. 🙂
Nicola Paul says
I am SO stoked! I knew you’d love the Hygge collection (Christmas Spirit is the best!) ??? & diffusing is the ultimate self care for me, simple, luxurious & just a treat for the senses! Love my oils & love when others jump on the oily train!!!
Lynn says
I haven’t started using oils beyond making a Tieves blend to spray on my pumpkins this past fall to keep the squirrels out of them. But I absolutely love the Thieves cleaner, and the scent it leaves behind afterworlds!
Narci says
So fun! Love hearing about how everyone is using oils! So many great ideas!
Sheaffer says
I’m a believer too! Always lavender at night, thieves on feet when not feeling well, and peppermint on tummy when nauseous. Other things here and there as well! Great post!
Jennifer Bethune says
I go back and forth being “oily” as well. Lol! I’ll make a concoction of thieves, lavender, peppermint to diffuse at night in my daughters room when she has congestion and almost always notice a difference after one night. If she’s really sick I use frankincense as well.
Nicole says
Do you ever use candles now?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, I still love my candles 🙂 .
Sarah Shaneyfelt says
I’ve been curious about oils but just haven’t bought any! I still love burning candles too much, I think!
MeetTheShaneyfelts
Lesley McFarland says
Girl!!
Essential oils are
My JAM!!! I use them every.single.day all day long. There is always a diffuser going and a roller not far away.
I started dipping my toe in oils to find something that would help my son focus. Now we use them for EVERYTHING!!!
Happy oiling!
deanna says
What did you use to help your son focus?
Angela says
What blend has helped your son? We’ve used Vetiver, but I’d love to know what works for your family!
Angela Messer says
Hi Lesley, did you find anything to help him focus? I’ve just started using oils in a diffuser and I’m loving it so far. My favorite so far is sandalwood.
Dawn Staff says
I just signed up under Brooke last night. I am new to the oil world. I’m super excited to get my kit in 3 days.
Chelsea says
I got the YL starter kit for Christmas. I’ve loved diffusing equal parts orange and peppermint for a morning boost. I’m sure you’ve done this, but I like to search diffuser recipes for (however you want to feel) on Pinterest. So many great ideas! Hope you so more posts about this
Lori Reggio says
Love YL, fairly new to oils myself, but my daughters have been for awhile. Enjoying lavender and stress away in our bedroom. thieves is wonderful diffused! drop of orange on your toothpaste is so refreshing and a natural tooth whitener! spearmint roller for headaches, apply to back of neck and temples. my daughters apply thieves to the bottoms of their childrens feet every night for immune support.
Jennifer Bethune says
I also like to use Purification to help get rid of smells from cooking in the kitchen. And I clean most surfaces in our house time with Thieves Household cleaner. I’m sure you diffused Christmas Spirit over the holidays. I think it smells great! Peace & Calming is good to diffuse at night as well. I get a kick out of my husband when he requests that I do the oil stuff. ?
Paula says
Peace & Caming diffused!
Stress Away rolled at the next!
Brain Power for focus!
Frankincense..a drop on the tongue daily and a drop in my face moisturizer.
Copabia for aches and pains.
Lavender is magic. Once I had a brain fart and literally grabbed my cast iron out of the oven without mits. Not sure why. But I rubbed Lavender periodically all over my hand. Next day…NO BURNING & NO BLISTERS! SERIOUSLY!
RC & Eucalyptus rubbed on the chest if and respiratory stuff…like coughing, infection.
Purification smells devine. I diffuse in my bathroom and put a drop on my dryer balls. You can also put in a water ball and freshen shoes or a room.
Sacred Mountain is my new favorite.
Thieves cleaner.
Oregano I would not live without. It is an antibacterial type. Any sickness and it is WONDERFUL! Add to diffuer or and roller blend. I roll LLP (Lemon, Lavendar h Peppermint) with Oregano when feeling run down. Now you will smell like an Italian restaurant. ?
LLP is also good for headaches to roll on the temples.
Digize….smells awful, but. If you have tummy issues. Small drop. I use Tummigize on the kids. I roll in their tummies. Less strong.
Rosemary is great for arthritis.
Raven is the RC on steroids. If one has a Respiratory Infection…USE!
M-Grain…roll it for headaches/migraines. I keep it in my purse along with, Thieves & Stress Away to roll.
Also, I wear a necklace to put smells on. Mostly Thieves. But when somewhere with an offputting smell, I just reach for it to sniff. Your girls might like it too in school. Discrete way too.
Lavender & Tea Tree in a roller is great for Boo Boos.
I am trying the Endoflex next month.
That is a few…I got more…
Alexis deZayas says
I love to put a few drops of orange on a washcloth in the shower in the morning to help wake me up! I diffuse purification when I’m cleaning and it makes it smell super fresh. And I mix panaway with lotion for knee pain/muscle aches- I swear this CURED my knees! I also love their thieves cleaner, lip balms, eye shadows and I just ordered their fruit and veggie soak to try!
Elizabeth says
Ahh, I’m so excited that you are using Young Living! I’ve been using oils for a little over 2 years now and I can’t go a day without. I diffuse them nonstop, and apply them topically for sleep support (hello Tranquil roll on), immune support (hello thieves roll on), and just about everything else! I would highly suggest adding Ningxia Red into your daily life and you might really love Ningxia Zyng as well. One thing I will say is that I would advise against using diffusers from Amazon with YL oils. The YL diffusers are made very well, and those you find on Amazon are cheaper for a reason (they are made cheaper). Because the YL oils are so strong and 100% pure, they will eventually break down the plastic on the amazon diffuser and then you are technically just breathing in burnt plastic– which kind of defeats the purpose of diffusing oils for health benefits! Some of my favorite oils are peppermint, tranquil, thieves, stress away, valor, the list goes on!
Mary Jane McNeill says
I sleep so much better when I use the Tranquil roller!! I LOVE it!
And we drink our NINJA juice every day with a drop of Jade Lemon. Yummy!!
Casey says
I’ve only used diffusers from Amazon (for years) and this has never happened. ?♀️
Elizabeth Jeanes says
As a nurse, I was the most skeptical person of oils. Anytime someone would bring them up I, like Andrew, would roll my eyes exaggeratedly. Then My son was born and diagnosed with a severe immunodeficiency disorder when he was 15 months. After his first hospitalization, I was desperate. A friend of mine from church sent me an immune rollerball, and I was hooked. Christian went 6 weeks without an infection (which was the longest in his life!).
Add cedar wood to your nighttime routine. It changed the game. Lavender, thieves, and cedar wood is the best sleep combo!
We diffuse thieves all day, every day. Usually during the day we do an allergy blend (because hello? The south.) of lemon, lavender, thieves and peppermint. If we have anyone with congestion or respiratory symptoms, I’ll throw in a few drops of RC and Eucalyptus. We roll our feet and alien with our immunity blend day and night and more often if Christians getting sick. Digize helps with our tummy issues, especially Christian when he’s on antibiotics. I haven’t started their supplements yet but it’s next on my list. Our kiddos have switched to thieves toothpaste (our dentist Ian impressed!) and we have switched our cleaner to the thieves cleaner (it is THE best and so clean!) We ditched and switched the most toxic things in our home (ahem, dryer sheets!) and started using dryer balls with a few drops of purification or citrus fresh.
I’m def not an expert but love learning more and finding out how others incorporate oils in their daily lives!
Joy Loredo says
I love YL oils and I use the same diffuser from Amazon. When my kiddos start getting the sniffles, I apply Thieves on the bottom of their feet! And instantly they feel better. But does anyone know a good combination of oils to combat a sinus infection?
Nicole J says
I absolutely love peppermint for my migraines/sinus issues
Lavender for sleeping
And tea tree oil for skin clearing
Dustie Day says
Oh girl, I could go on and on about my love for oils and your comment about Andrew rolling his eyes made me laugh out loud. That’s my husband, he hasn’t jumped on the band wagon YET. I diffuse in my kids rooms nightly but need to start in our own room. We diffuse lavender, on guard (doterra’s verson of YL thieves) and breathe. I make roller balls for our kids feet as well (on guard roller and then a FLOOM roller ball to keep handy in flu season). Just swipe their feet once or twice a day and put socks on. My son had a 24 hr high fever in early November and I swear the oils kicked it because motrin wasn’t touching it. He asked me multiple times to rub the oils on his back – we used a mixture of frankincense, peppermint, lavender. We also use doterra’s on guard soap in our bathrooms and I’ve started using some skin care products.
Tracy says
A FLOOM roller is one of my favorite things!
Kelly M Sites says
If you have a skin tag on your skin- OREGANO ess. oil works amazing.. You dab a small (and make it small, because it burns a little) on a q tip on your skin tag, each day, and it literally falls off in a week or so. My husband had a skin tag from working out- and we did this and it works awesome.
Tasha says
Frankincense will remove skin tags too, and doesn’t hurt.
Paige says
Yes!!! Oils have helped our family so much and I swear by them!!
DANIELLE K RIGG says
WOW, you must of read my mind!!! I started using young living these past months and was going to ask if you use them? They have been game changers for us too with sleeping and sicknesses. I bought since my family and myself have such bad allergies. It has helped, my kids are even loving using them. My husband too thought I was nuts but the first night he felt a cold coming on, I put thieves on his feet before bed. He woke up saying “Must be a coincident” LOL but he knew it worked. I have been pinning like crazy on Pinterest. Even when I was wrapping Christmas presents, I was diffusing to pepermint & Stress Away=Candy Canes!!! Good luck and enjoy.
DANIELLE K RIGG says
Forgot…my kids love PanAway massaged on their legs at night…my 3 girls get bad growing pains this has been helping them at night. It also helps on the bumps and bruises kids get or their tired muscles from basketball games! I have rollers they love…Happy Nose and Relax. I made the combos. They loves as I mentioned thieves on their feet at night for germs away.
Sandi says
I swear by the roll-ons: stress away, deep relief(use before a headache gets too bad) and thieves. I use all three together daily. And yes to diffusing lavender, lemon and thieves at night!?
Tara G. says
Lavender has been helpful for burns & bug bites & headaches. Peppermint for upset tummies. I keep tea tree (meleuca) around & I’ve used frankincense with my moisturizer. I have oils from different companies but will echo the comment that the Doterra Deep Blue rub is great
DANIELLE K RIGG says
One more thing….LOL, I have been using JoJoba Oils on my face as a moisturizer at night after I was my face. GAME CHANGER…it smooths my dry skin, helps with wrinkles and gives you a glow. We also mix it in our shampoo, with coconut oil for eczema. You need to try this oil. I bought it on amazon. It is something too that could be used as a carrier oil in rollers with the young living oils But I like alone, for my face, dry skin, etc.
Julie Parker says
I love using oils. I find some great smelling combinations on Pinterest. I have not had any miraculous things happen but I do really like them. I use them to lift my mood sometimes. My husband is a “nonbeliever “ lol . I’ve had lots of eye rolls. Lol
Stacy Beach says
Oh yeah! I’m a Young Living girl too! Love them! I love diffusing oils and use Peace and Calming or Stress Away on the insides of my wrists and back of neck A LOT! Haha!
Jk says
Quick question … how do you clean your diffuser ?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t. Good question! Can someone else answer???
Lauren says
If you have young livings thieves cleaner you can use that, or else you can do vinegar, just a small amount on a paper towel and wipe it out. Or spray if you have vinegar in a spray bottle. Be especially careful with the central disc part not to scrub it or damage it. YL diffusers come with a yellow sponge thing that is meant to clean that portion gently.
Megan W says
I believe there is a picture on amazon that shows product maintenance! I saw it when I clicked on your link to the diffuser!
Sarah Smith says
Be sure to use filtered water in your diffusers and that will help them from getting gross!
Brooke Richardson says
Fill your diffuser about half way with clean water.
Add up to 10 drops of pure white vinegar. …
Let the diffuser run for about 3-5 minutes to allow the water-vinegar mixture to disperse throughout the unit and clean it.
Drain the diffuser completely
Hope this helps, Brooke!
Jenny says
Cedarwood and Lavender at night are my favorite combo. It knocks me out! Deep Relief is great for head tension. I just roll it on my temples and forehead… so good! Also Pinterest has tons of great diffuser combos. Spiced Cider is one of my favorites to blend! So excited you are using your oils again.
Brea Withrow says
We LOVE them. We put in our baby twins room and they have slept so well. I am a newbie too and have diffusers for each of our rooms but haven’t found anything I like for the older kids rooms (only 3 and 4 but our oldest, ha). Any suggestions?
Kelly says
Would LOVE to hear from people with cats. I bought a few oils and a disused last year and then read horror stories about the negative effects on cats. I have a fairly small condo (1000 sq ft) and a cat. There’s no area I can keep a diffuser away from him. Any thoughts for oil users and cat owners in small spaces?
Ali says
You do have to be really careful with pets, especially cats. There’s a Facebook group called Animal Aromatherapy that has a lot of important safety info for using oils around animals. It’s run by certified aromatherapists who have extra training to advise on animals and it’s not associated with any specific brand of oils.
Morgan says
I haven’t had any issue with diffusing around my pets. I have heard, though, that tea tree oil can be bad for them so I’ve avoided that.
Jeni says
You know I love this so much!!!
Emily Harrison says
I love using Panaway on sore muscles after I work out. I love to diffuse Citrus Fresh, Grapefruit and pretty much anything citrus all the time. I love Lavender and Cedarwood at night. Also, adding the Ningxia to my smoothies is yummy too.
Amy says
In a glass spray bottle we fill it up with distilled water and then add a few drops of peppermint, lavender and purification. We spray our beds before bedtime and use it to freshen up the furniture and dog beds. It smells amazing and helps our girls to sleep well.
Amy Divita says
I have never used oils personally, but my best friend swears by them! She told me this weekend there is a mixture of oils that smell just like the volcano candles from Anthropologie! That, I am willing to try 😉
Andrea says
Well, that’s a game changer!! Can you share what those oils are??? ?
Jill says
We had some pesky ants that wanted to come in our patio door. I put some peppermint oil on the baseboards and the bottom of the patio door and that stopped them in their tracks!! (and my kitchen smelled so clean and minty fresh!)
Amanda says
While I don’t believe in the oil’s healing magic for everything. I LOVE the scent of some of them and diffuse them JUST because they smell good. The Christmas spirit one does smell GREAT!!!!
Laci says
I love oils but I am super new to all of it! Will head back later to read all the comments!
Brooke Richardson says
Haha! Tyler was the same way. He still calls them witch oils. Lol. But ask him how often I’m rubbing certain blends on his back for soreness and if he can’t apply breathe under his nose before bed, he just doesn’t even know what to do with himself, lol!!! I’m so glad you jumped back on the oily train!
I’ll be coming back here to read all of the suggestions too!!!
Sandra says
Love YL Oils. I also use YL Allerzyme and Agilease. Tumeric is in the Agilease, which is great for all sorts of things. I’ve been diffusing thieves, orange, and peppermint for days now. So many benefits in those three to help support our immune systems, plus they still remind me of the holidays!
Amanda Wilson says
Yes we are oil junkies to! My daughter had warts on her feet and it’s the only thing that worked to get rid of them. Digitize for tummies….thieves I just love the smell and feel like I am protecting us from the flu. I am going to diffuse that now!!
Katherine Darlington says
A good place to purchase quality oils for 4.99-6.99 is Th Maxx/home goods!
DANIELLE K RIGG says
Here is a great link from young living on how to clean… This can be used for any diffuser though
https://www.youngliving.com/blog/how-to-take-care-of-your-diffuser
Jennifer says
I love putting a drip or two of frankensence in my moisturizer and I love digize for stomach/digestion issues.
Amy S says
Clean your diffuser by running vinegar through occasionally. But as for diffusing, stress away + peppermint it’s ???, especially at 4 p.m. In my house! And I also bought a car diffuser, which is a teeny bit life changing!
julie says
I sometimes use a diffuser during the day, but never even knew it can help sleep at night! I’ll have to try. Also, I’m always confused…are there different types of oils for drinking (in water) and for diffusing? Or are all of them safe for consumption?
Years ago I made my own hair conditioner (sounds crazy, I know!) with just water, apple cider vinegar and a few drops of oil. The shampoo was just baking soda and water. No joke, my hair was never healthier, shinier or happier! But now, it’s too much work so I’m back to good old store bought ;).
Terry Arellano says
Doterra and YL descriptions for each oil usually includes whether or not the oil can be used internally or not.
Kaci says
Curious about diffusing with animals in the house? I bought some once and people freaked b/c we have a dog inside. I didn’t know they were bad for them (apparently?) and now I’m terrified to diffuse anything! Any suggestions?
Monica Beth says
I just signed up for YL Essential Oils myself! Tell me what is not safe to diffuse if you have a dog? ?
Kelli says
Oils are amazing, once you get comfortable with them. I’ve done with for about a year, but not as much as I should, but here are some of my favs:
Young Living makes premade rollers, they are expensive, but WORTH IT! I love the tranquility and thieves rollers! I also use the stress away roller! I like to make my own rollers as well, frankincense and panaway is my fav mix for joints/bones. I have an anxiety roller, headache roller, and allergy roller. I also love the kid oils for tummy and stuffy noses.
If you don’t have thieves cleaner yet, GET IT NOW. I love love love the thieves lozenges, however they are out of stock currently. They are amazing. I love YL chapstick and the peppermint/lavender shampoo.
There is a rose cream I was able to try once and it was amazing, but I haven’t bought it yet.
Have fun!
Carrie Holet says
This is so interesting. I’m not clear on what the oils are used for – ailments? Trying to prevent ailments?
Thanks!
Keisha Dawson says
This post makes me so happy! We have been a Young Living family for a little over three years now. I don’ sell it, but we did sign up to get the discount, and I also order for a few friends and family. I thought I had tried every combination under the sun to help with sleep, but I have to say I haven’t tried this one. I am putting it in my diffuser tonight. We use theives for anything and everything, including the household cleaner and laundry detergent. We love the toothpaste and deodorant, and I’ve started switching over some of my makeup too. I like the primer, bronzer, misting spray and eye shadows so far. Christmas Spirit and a combination of cinnamon bark, orange, and clove are my favorites to make my house smell good. YL has so many great products to offer!!

We love RC from young living for any respitory issues. It has helped with kiddos coughing at night a ton. Also love the kids probiotics, inner defense and thieves cleaner! ?
Angela says
Ohhh boy, where do I begin?! In July, I FINALLY tried oils (after thinking all of my oily friends were crazy) and….can’t stop. won’t stop. LOL!
I put 3-4 drops of lemon in my water each morning (yes, use a glass or stainless steel) and again at night (this has kept my body alkaline…I was having female issues with being too acidic). Every single night, I use lavender…3-4 drops in the palm of my hand, then rub on my spine and inhale two or three deep breaths (the sense of smell activates your brain within 20 seconds) and I sleep like a baby now!! No waking up in the middle of the night & I wake up feeling refreshed and great! Two times, I’ve warded off bronchitis with Palo Santo, Peppermint, & Copaiba and I used to get this all the time. Thieves is an amazing immune booster that we love! Peace & Calming or Vetiver helps with focusing and attention concerns. You’ve gotta have your kiddos take the little Kidscents MightyPro probiotic supplements! Our boys (13 & 9) think they taste like Pixy Sticks. And then, Shay, if you haven’t tried the Ningxia Red, you must!! My hubby and I take 2 oz. each morning and it’s such a powerful supplement! And Ningxia Nitro tubes are absolutely incredible. One Sunday afternoon, I was soooo tired, so I finally tried it. This little tube was like drinking a cup of coffee or Red Bull (which I can’t stand the taste), without giving me any jitters. It’s a great natural way to boost your energy on those days you feel super sluggish. I guess I’m in love with the YL oils, huh?! I can’t believe how much better we feel. I diffuse things like Christmas Spirit or my Russian Tea recipe of Clove, Nutmeg, and Orange. (But. On a side note, I still have candles that I love, too!) Happy Oiling, Shay!!
Mallory says
I think you have the wrong links for the Sleep Number article, only commenting because I’m interested in reading it haha!

The YL thieves cleaner is a game changer! Your house will smell like Christmas year round! I use it to clean everything… I love that it is safe enough to spray in our Kitchen while still killing the germs in the Bathroom!
Kathy Roe says
I carry peppermint oil with me at all times. I even keep some at work. It is good for headaches but that is not all. in the car if you are driving and get sleepy, I rub some on the back of my neck and my temples and it seriously revives you! I’ve also rubbed it on my knee at work when it started hurting and just kept massaging it and the pain subsided. I also love to diffuse lavender at night. I will try some Thieves with it tonight.
Casey says
I’m obsessed with my YL oils! I put Thieves on my feet each night, & diffuse Lavender & Cedarwood for quality sleep. I now have a diffuser in each room of my house. The best thing I’ve created so far is the glow serum – I get tons of compliments on my skin since I started using it. Your way of life will change & improve so much the longer you use them!
Michelle says
Hi Casey. I use YL oils too. Would you mind sharing your glow serum recipe?
Laura Fuller says
I have been using oils (DoTerra) for about 5 years. My easiest tricks to explain here:
~ The allergy blend that many mention here (equal parts of peppermint, tea tree, & lemon) is amazing during allergy season.
~ When children in your kids’ class get lice, add 4-5 drops Tea Tree to their shampoo. (Last year, my daughter was the only one in her class that never got lice.)
~ I cured pink eye overnight (on a weekend) by dividing one drop of Tea Tree between two fingers and rub all around the eye.
There are so many resources on Pinterest. I will google ‘how to treat xxx with essential oils’ and something will come up. Try it!
leah reinemund says
Love oils!!! When my husband was sick a few weeks ago he said the diffuser worked as kind of a humidifier to help him stop coughing…of course when I bought the thing he rolled his eyes and said it was a bunch of hocus pocus!
Charly says
Do you close your kiddos doors at night? Wondered if it would be too strong with the door closed?
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t, but sometimes I close my office door and it’s not too strong.
Kelli says
Be careful what you diffuse around your little ones. Not every oil is kid friendly. Same with pets. I use Plant Therapy and they have a line specifically for kids and is much more affordable than YL. I have lots of their roll ons for my kids and they’re great!
Kris says
Kelli, you are absolutely correct! I worry when I read about what people are diffusing in their children’s bedroom or ingesting without knowing much about oils. I hope everyone looks into contraindications and precautions to take when diffusing in a child’s room all night. You should also NEVER put oils on a child without first diluting it in a carrier oil.
Courtney says
Can you give me a brief list of which ones are safe to diffuse around kids? I do lavender in my kids’ rooms, but I read somewhere that they’re too young for thieves. Lavender is the only one I feel safe using. And I use tea tree oil in their shampoo.
Kate says
Look into Plant Therapy brand, they have a kid safe line that excludes the common oils not safe for kids peppermint and eucalyptus especially. The website Using Essential Oils safely is a good resource too. Just be sure whatever research you find is not written by one of the sales companies!
Stephanie Bratton says
We are fairly new to oils too!
I diffuse peace and calming at night…it’s amazing!
I diffuse purification in the kitchen! Also amazing.
I have also read up on thieves and how powerful of a cleaner it is. I saw a picture of an area cleaned with theives vs all these other popular cleaners. Thieves is healthier and worked better than all of the other cleaners including method, Lysol and Mrs Meyers. We now clean with theives! My son (6) thinks it is so neat how we mix it up for the spray bottle! He loves cleaning with it.
My husband dissolved a wart in a few weeks with peppermint oil, and I had success with a fungal nail in one week with tea tree oil! There is something to this oil stuff!!
Francy says
I love my oils! I’m still trying to figure out how to use them and make them part of daily life all day but I love them!
My favorite is probably the allergy blend when it’s that time of year – diffuse 3 drops each of peppermint, lemon, and lavender – it helps us so much with allergy issues at the beginning of fall and spring! I also love a few drops of eucalyptus or rosemary in the bottom of the shower – smells so refreshing and spa-like.
Mary Anne says
I was ready to jump in then read the comment about cats! We have two and don’t want to harm them…..anyone with more info?
Jennifer Maynard says
My favorite is Onguard by Doterra (which I think is the same as Thieves by Young Living). It smells heavenly!
Lisa Richardson says
Too funny! I just did a blog post yesterday on essential oils! I’m not a crazed eo user, but I do like to dabble. https://www.coasttocoast2.com/2019/01/getting-started-with-essential-oils.html
Dally Smith says
sniffleease! As soon as my kids start to get a runny nose or everyone around them is getting sick and I diffuse it and put it on th bottom of their feet. Works wonders for us!
Michelle says
Good Morning Shay. I’ve been using YL Essential oils for a year now. My favorites are Stress Away (diffuser and roll on) and Frankincense (on my face). Thank you for the suggestion of mixing Thieves with Lavender to diffuse at night. My new favorite purchase is the car vent diffuser. It’s so fun changing out the scents instead of using a regular car air freshener. Hope you have a lovely day!
PS) Would you mind sharing the link for you iphone case?
Sara F says
Holy smokes! SO MANY COMMENTS! I didn’t read all of them so I’m sorry if this is a repeat. I don’t use a lot of oils, but when I’m super stressed, I get ulcers inside my mouth… and they hurt SO BAD! Then I have a hard time eating and drinking, which makes me feel even worse (in addition to the stress already experienced). So my dental hygienist told me about using a drop or 2 of clove oil on a qtip and holding it on the ulcer… it NUMBS it and provides incredible relief!
Kristin Lockwood says
Hi Sara, are the ulcers you get canker sores, because I get them too and a remedy for them would be amazing!
Jill says
We use a combo of lemon, lavender, and peppermint for EVERYTHING. Diffuse it, roll it, whatever. It’s good for allergies, illness, sleep, etc.
Darla Hughes says
I think the Thieves cleaner is the most amazing stuff. Buy the concentrate and make your own. I use it for all cleaning and my housecleaner has even switched to it.
Tracy says
I’ve been a great collector of oils over the past couple of years but I’m still trying to figure out exactly how to use them! LOL! I do love On Guard & my FLOOM rollerball. I’m going to set up a diffuser in our bedroom today and see if it helps with sleep – thanks for the tip! Great post & lots of great ideas in the comments.
Heather says
I have been wanting to try oils but my husband is SUPER sensitive to smells and I think he would just complain about it. It looks like there are other ways to get the benefits of them besides diffusing them, but is a diffuser really the best/easiest way? I burn candles when he’s not home but I have to blow them out as soon as he walks in the house. I wish I could do something for sleep–we could BOTH use better sleep. Oil experts, what do you recommend for those scent sensitive people/households???
Mallory H says
I LOVE oils so much! I carry peppermint, lavender and thieves with me everywhere I go. I rub peppermint on my temples when I have a headache/migraine and I diffuse thieves and lavender every single night. To clean my diffuser, I just put a few drops of rubbing alcohol mixed with some water and turn it on for about 5 or so minutes. Then, I dumped that out and used either a Q-Tip or cotton ball to wipe down the residue. I hope that helps!! 🙂
Kayla Bruce says
Love, love essential oils! My husband had the exact same before/after reaction with diffusing lavender at night. I now also mix with Thieves (and roll it on my feet), cause we cannot seem to shake winter sickness. I’ve recently started using the YL Cedarwood Oil & their Orange Blossom facial moisturizer on my face and loving it!
Mary-Kate says
LOVE essential oils!!! So many great ideas in the comments that I can’t wait to try! Have you used a shower diffuser yet? (I know, is there any place that you can’t diffuse?) I gifted a bunch of these for Christmas to all my oil loving friends, and everyone has said that it was one of their favorite gifts! Here’s a link to check it out. You can diffuse either one or two oils in the steamy shower and it’s amazing! http://showerdiffuser.refr.cc/marykates

I thought people just talked them up before… My kids have bad asthma, so they catch every cold and every other bug out there. After always going to the doctor I knew I needed to try something. We use thieves cleaner, one time my son got the stomach bug and I cleaned my house with it and NO ONE else got the bug… Which never happens. We also diffuse in their rooms and I love the smell and I swear it makes us all sleep better. I am hooked now too!
april says
Also a Young Living promoter here! My favorites are Tranquil roll-on.. I apply on my neck before bed.. ahh… Also, for Xmas my sister gifted me wool dryer balls so I would stop with the fabric softener so I put some citrus fresh on it and throw it in the dryer! My daughter had a nasty cold over the weekend so I diffused Oregano (smells yuck but is great instead of lots of meds) and Thieves and Lemon (just to help with the oregano smell) and she’s so much better! Also a detox bath with bath salts and Peppermint. I only use the thieves cleaner to clean the house and carry the thieves “germ-x” in every purse, vehicle, basketball and volleyball bag, kids lockers, etc…. Lastly (I mean I could go on and on, but I’ll stop), my 16 year old daughter uses their make-up! So nose around the website and try more products and not just the oils. You’ll love it all!
Emily says
You are SO right about kindergarten classes being filled with every kind of germ imaginable. I am a kindergarten teacher and use the diffuser from Amazon that you linked in my classroom every day, all day long! 🙂
Brittany L Jackson says
I tried to read through the comments but not sure if anybody has told you to make sure whatever you are diffusing is safe for your pets. I know Citrus, Tea Tree, Cinnamon, Pennyroyal, Pine, Sweet Birch, Winter Green, and Ylang Ylang are not safe for dogs. We’re still kind new to oils but we love what we have used so far.
Toni :0) says
Sorry, not so sure about that. I’ve been diffusing citrus and cinnamon around my dog for years just fine. Plus as long as pets can move to a different room, they are usually just fine. Everyone just needs to do their own research and know what’s best for their family.
Sarah Chastain says
I love my YoungLiving Essential oils!! Some of my favorite oily hacks are putting a few drops of purification on my vacuum cleaners filter, using lemon oil in my fragrance free all purpose cleaner, and lavender in my sons baths! Also- for teething babies, Copaiba diluted along the jawline helps tremendously!!
Lauren says
Great post Shay! I’d love to know if there is an essential oil combination to stop bedwetting for an 8 year old. He’s such a deep sleeper that he consistently wets the bed and I’m afraid he’ll never grow out of it! Looking for help. TIA!
Elaine says
Lauren, try Cypress diluted on the bladder at night. It helped my daughter within a few weeks.
Megan Jeffries says
HAHAH! I can’t wait for the Tuesday talk about your new the Tractor with the Christmas bow!
Trisha says
We are an oil LOVING family! We use a bunch of different ones. Lemon is a favorite in our house. You can use it for cleaning purposes, flavoring your water and a little bit of everything. We live next to farmland and we recently had a mishap with a mouse. We decided to put a sticky pad out. For some reason, my dog found it and got into it. NOTHING would get that out of his fur until I thought, “Why don’t I try lemon oil”. Immediately, it all came out!! Bonus, he smelled like a lemon drop and his fur was super soft as well!! #addicted
Erin Ryan Chavez says
This is my favorite post. Ever. I have been using oils for nearly two years. my daughter had pneumonia and her poor little cough just wouldn’t go away. After the 3rd trip to the doctor and urgent care (where they said continue her inhaler) I wasn’t satisfied with that. So a FB friend who sells YLEO, has a post on Thieves and I messaged her and she ordered me some Thieves and made me a blend for my daughters cough (RC and Dorado Azul) and I am not lying, her cough was so much better with in 24 hours and gone with in a few days. So I bought a starter kit and there is no going back! My little guy (almost two) had pneumonia last week and I have been diffusing RC and Dorado Azul along with his inhaler and antibiotic and he is over it! My husband won’t have anything to do with them, but guess who is never sick or who has a shorter illness? ME! and my daughter who loves them too (she is 6). Some ways I use them that I think you would benefit: Lemon in water, when I have a sore throat, hot water with honey, lemon and sometimes a drop of thieves (I never have to take OTC meds when I drink that), Citrus on my dryer balls, Thieves cleaner is the only cleaner I allow in my house (My husband came home with some cleaner one day, we almost divorced, kidding but I hid it from him), Lavender and thieves at night, Melrose is so nice in lotion, lavender in my toner, I use all young living products for my face, and the kids young living shampoo and body wash for my kids, Raven – drops in my hot shower when I am congested, purification rubbed on my throat when it is sore. This morning my daughter said he stomach hurt, I rubbed digize on her and mine felt a little off, and I am completely fine and so far no call from her school! I seriously could go on and on. I am going to go back and read through everyone else comments and see what they suggest. Hope to see more oily posts from you!
Sarah L Benson says
Someone told me they used peppermint in a diffuser at night because their husband snores and it helped. I went right out and bought a diffuser and used it at night with peppermint and I was amazed that my husband did not snore! I thought it was a fluke until it happened the next night too! Now, I tell everyone who lives with someone that snores to try it!
MarthaP says
I have read online in several places that diffusing oils is harmful to small dogs. not all of them are safe to put in water, either. I think it is dangerous to promote these without posting some sort of link to YL’s instructions for which oils are safe or to post a disclaimer at the very least
Grace E Smith says
I diffuse Frankencise and Lavender ever night. They are my go to!
Karen says
That’s SO funny Andrew changed his tune with nighttime oils because that’s exactly what sold my husband!! He started saying “I think I’m sleeping better with those oils” ha! Welcome to the oily world (again)!
Terry says
Ningxia Red made my husband a believer! It really helps with inflammation and joint pain as well as overall wellness. We don’t miss a day. And thieves cleaner is a game changer. You can literally throw out 90% of your regular cleaning products.
Megan says
Nothing against essential oils, but be careful – YoungLiving has a reputation for being a pyramid scheme.
Ashley Hall says
I know the Young Living blend “RC” is amazing for when you or the kids are stuffed up – we use the doTERRA version called “Breathe” in our diffuser at night whether we’re sick or not! Also, there are so many “roller recipes” so you can safely use the oils topically. The Root & Petal rollers on Amazon are the best I’ve used! (and so cute)
Vicky T says
It made me soooo happy to hear that one of my favorite bloggers is using Young Living essential oils!!! I’ve been obsessed with it for about a year and a half now. My favorite at night is Lavender & Cedarwood on my wrists (made my own rollerball). My purse always has at least Digize (for unexpected tummy issues), Lavender (minor cuts, itchy skin, bug bites, calming), Thieves (keeping the germ bugs away). Don’t forget it’s not just about the oils, YL has excellent supplements, Thieves cleaning line (safe for kids and fur babies), kids probiotics (I haven’t tried it but I hear tastes like pixie stix!), skin care & makeup! It is life changing for you and your family!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams says
Big fan of essentials oils here too! I knew when I saw your post topic there would be ALOT of comments. Everyone is so passionate about these little blends! I second the sleeping with lavender (although I haven’t tried it with thieves or cedarwood). My boyfriend has been sleeping better since I started diffusing it a night. Peppermint oil is my favorite to diffuse for focus while working and lemon and/or tangerine in my water! I also recommend URPower diffuses too! They work better than YL!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
Susie says
Do the diffusers cause any oily residue or misty wetness around them, like on the carpet, bedding, or furniture? I’m also interested in finding out which oils are safe for use around dogs. Thanks, great topic!
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t found that to be the case!
Sheri says
Love that you’re using oils! I add a drop or two of Frankincense to my moisturizer. I diffuse Thieves in my office at work. I use peppermint + lotion on the back of my neck and temples when I have a headache. And I always add a drop of the Vitality Peppermint to my water each day.
One thing to be careful of – many oils are harmful to cats and dogs, so always check on those lists before diffusing around them.
Katy says
I’m usually an eye roller of oils as well, haha! (Your comment about Andrew needing Advil made me laugh out loud!) Th only oil I’ve been suckered in to buying so far is the Thieves oil which I actually LOVE just mix with water in a squirt bottle for cleaning. I clean all of my stainless appliances, granite counters, mirrors, windows, and I use it to mop. It is an absolutely wonderful cleaner and everything is streak-free and shiny when I finish! I may venture further into oil land later but right now my brain can’t handle it. 😉
Lindsay D. says
I have switched to using oils for my household cleaning instead of the harsh chemicals. I actually enjoy cleaning now. 🙂 My favorite oils are lavender, on guard, breathe and oregano.
Addison says
You’ve convinced me to try oils! I’ve never been an oil person but now I’m wondering why not???
Lisa says
Cedarwood turned my husband, a fellow eye roller, to oils! He calls it the Home Depot one, lol. I guess that makes him feel more manly. For sleep, it’s the best! I’m a fan of many oils, but peppermint is big on my list. If a kid, or me, is nauseous, it zaps that in lightening speed and it’s so refreshing! Have fun!
Haley says
What oils do you use to stay healthy? I am a teacher and I am sick all the time!! I’ve been taking a lot of vitamins but haven’t tried oils yet. Any suggestions??

I love this topic too! Someone just said this to me the other day about diffusing oils and your pets. I found this article online that lists the dangerous ones 🙂

I diffused on guard (& cleaned with it) in my house until I learned there could be a connection between certain oils & seizures. My oldest, who was 15 at the time, had just started having seizures. It completely freaked me out. I meant to do more research on this but never got around to it. If anyone knows anything about this, please lmk. I miss the way my house smelled when using them.

Great post Shay & SO much information! Thank you!

I have been using essential oils for about 10 years now. I love the thieves/on guard in the winter and the breath blends have helped my sons asthma. You do have to be careful with them though and get educated! I love this website. It has soon much information especially for kids! https://www.usingeossafely.com

I definitely think essential oils have their place…But, as someone who works in the medical field, you do have to be careful. For a few years, I would spray tea tree oil in my daughter’s hair to prevent lice, but was told (by an endocrinologist) not to do this because tea tree oil (and lavender) have been found to be endocrine disruptors. Just wanted to share the info we received…. https://www.niehs.nih.gov/health/topics/agents/essential-oils/index.cfm

I’ve diffused YL oils around my dog & cat for the past 6 years. My dog is 8-years-old and my cat is 15! And my husband is a veterinarian. Dogs & cats instinctively know what they are sensitive to and will go in a different part of the house if there is something diffusing that they don’t like. But you have to give them that opportunity. Don’t ever leave an animal in a closed room with a diffuser going. Just make sure they have the ability to get away from something if they want to.

I’m obsessed with oils, I use Plant Therapy brand, —I’m absolutely not affiliated with them in anyway—they have an amazing company (no MLM) therefore, lower prices! I had a trimalleolar ankle fracture and started oiling it right after my surgery incisions closed, 3 fractures healed in 8 weeks, my surgeon was impressed! I diffuse daily and use them on my daughter anytime she starts to get so much as a sniffle! I am a believer!

Love this topic. So many tips. I use Doterra but I do love YL Deep Relief roller ball. I use one drop Lemon on a teaspoon of honey great for throat irritation. It’s medicinal and tastes yummy. I also use lemon as an adhesive remover. No more Goo-Gone. Purify or Purification I put a few drops in the pre rinse spot in the dishwasher and also a few drops in the sheets and towels in the washer. I add a drop of Frankenscence to my moisturizer at night. On Guard/Thieves is great for cleaning, diffusing, direct application. I made a hand sanitizer with OnGuard for my car and spay in on my hands every time I get in the car. It took me awhile to like the smell of lavendar. I had a rash that even the prescription strength cream would not touch the itch. Lavendar was the only thing that worked. My go to now for bug bites etc.
Stacie Cagney says
Thieves is my favorite! I have the hand purifier in all of my bags. I got off allergy medicine 5 years ago before I started trying for my baby. I use a drop of lemon, lavender and peppermint (mixed with a drop of lotion) and rub it on my neck and throat in the morning and at bed time. I have not had to get back on allergy medicine since. And, I don’t have sinus infections twice a year like I use to. (Knock on wood!) I defuse purification in my kitchen when I cook with my slow cooker or Instant Pot. Helps take the food smell out. Hope you love your oils!
Christa says
We love oils in our house too! I’ve used them off and on for 10+ years and my go to brand now is Rocky Mountain Oils. I’ve never been disappointed in their products and they have great customer service. Awesome quality without the MLM cost!

Wow! Look at all the comments on this post! We are definitely passionate about our essential oils! I’m happy that you have discovered Young Living. They have made a world of difference in our lives! I love cedarwood and lavendar for sleeping! My favorite blend for diffuser: frankincense, lavendar, cedarwood and orange! I also rub a drop of cedarwood behind my ears. I had that diffuser but found this one and love it WAY more!! It holds so much more water so runs longer, great for larger spaces!

I purchased the recommended diffuser. I did not realize it was so small. 🙂 My kids were immediately jealous and I am purchasing two more for them. I think they will work great for the bedrooms but I’m guessing they are a little too small for a large open spaced room. We’re enjoying the citrusy oils. Thank you for the recommendation.

Valor is my FAVORITE.. I’ve actually starting using it as a perfume.. I just love the smell of it and it has great benefits too!
