Thank goodness it’s Friday!
Some people over here were kind of not feeling great this week, but THANKFULLY, it’s passed. Our goal this week has been for everyone to feel fantastic for the school’s family Valentine’s Dance tonight, and we made it! #allthepraisehands So, I’m a bit off this Friday (this has been such a weird week!), but I still have a few faves. As always, I’m linking up with my girls Erika, Narci and Andrea.
Here we go…
I have been trying to hit Trader Joe’s all week long, but it keeps getting bumped. I’m hoping (fingers crossed!) that I make it today because…
…LOOK!!!!
I went through your comments on my Trader Joe’s post and wrote down TWO PAGES of things to buy on my next trip!!
To make your own list (and see all of the amazing comments) click HERE.
Thanks to sweet Brooke…
…we have had such a fun week reading this book!! Brooke bought it for my girls…
…and we have read it over and over and over again this week! Another book that we’ve read over and over since Christmas is…
…eeeeeks! My parents gave this to the girls and they LOVE IT!!
The story is actually quite lengthy, so Madeley and I read a little bit every day before her nap…and then when we’re done, we start over the next day. You get to customize the people, so as you can see, these girls look like my girls!
…just the sweetest!! Lovie and Papa Jay did GREAT with this gift!! I got the website info on the back of the book. You can order your copy HERE.
Speaking of books, I wanted to share these two books with you today too…
…the first one is Mothers in Waiting and I was really honored when author Crystal Bowman and her daughter-in-law Meghann asked if I would contribute my story. Yesterday, I mentioned on my blog how I miscarried our first baby (after our first IUI and months and months of fertility drugs), and then went on to walk a crazy road to motherhood that looked NOTHING like I thought it would. This book is an encouraging and uplifting book that I’m sure, will bless many as they wait to become moms.
Another encouraging book ended up at my house this week…
…my friend Annie Downs turned her best-selling Looking for Lovely into a book and Bible study for young girls! If you don’t know Annie, you’re missing out! She is AMAZING and her ministry blesses me with each and every book she’s written. If you have a teen or pre-teen girl, I bet she would love these new books!
Oh hey there cute family…
…aren’t they adorable!! Friends, if you are thinking about a Walt Disney World vacation this fall or Christmas, it’s time to book!! WDW has some special promotions going on right now that we’d love for you to take advantage of!! From all the spooktacular Halloween fun to the magic of the holiday season at the parks, WDW is AMAZING that time of year! Email us today for more information!! mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com
And last but not least…
…tis that time of year! If you want some yummy and simple Valentine’s Day dessert recipes, click HERE.
I have loads of yummy Valentine’s treats here on my blog like…
…VALENTINE’S COCOA too!

Okay, I’m quitting for the week 🙂 . Here’s hoping we have the best time at our Valentine’s dance and everyone stays healthy all weekend long. Sending you love this Friday! xo

Some things I forgot to add to the Trader Joe’s comments, but you’ve got to try if you can: frozen strawberry mochi (made with coconut milk but tastes like the best, fresh strawberry ice cream) and frozen chocolate covered banana slices. The frozen mango mochi is yummy too if you like mango sorbet. Oh my goodness and the spatchcocked chicken in the prepared meats section!

I made some of these recipes last year and they were such a hit. Especially the pick hot cocoa!! I like you love to make the holidays special for my kids so thanks for all the great ideas. Can I ask if Ashby’s procedures are helping?? That little trooper she just seems so sweet! R

We are starting our journey into foster care and I have been wondering what to give each child WHEN (praying for when, not if!) they are reunified with their family…the personalized book would be such a sweet touch. Saving this post for later on-thanks for sharing!

I am new to your blog and have been catching up on your story. I would be interested to know if you were diagnosed with infertility? I’m an older mom and my bio kids are very dar apart in age. I never used fertility treatment or even considered that I needed it. Now I wonder wonder, but since I successfully had other kids, I would guess not. I never used birth control and my oldest and middle are 5.5 years apart and my youngest is 7. 5 years younger than middle.

They had some theories to why we couldn’t conceive (even with drugs and medical procedures), but not one concrete thing. That made me a little crazy because I kept thinking “if we could just single out the problem, we could fix it”, but they couldn’t ever narrow it to one particular problem.

I just got your Eats cookbook for my bridal shower last weekend! EEEK! I can’t wait to bust into it this weekend! <3 Your Valentines desserts are so cute! Happy Friday, Shay!

I love your site and am a loyal reader. I really appreciate your heart for Jesus and your family. I would like to recommend “The Lies Girls Believe” by Dannah Gresh. She is co-author of my favorite Bibile study I’ve ever read, “Lies Women Believe” and this is her new offering for young girls 🙂
