It’s a three day weekend!
Annnnnd it’s also the second to last day of August!
I’m taking Monday off to hang with my fam, but make sure you come back on Tuesday because I always love celebrating the beginning of September in a big way, so you will not want to miss that! In the meantime, last week, I showed you all of my favorite Nordstrom Neutrals and this week, I’m partnering with Nordstrom and ShopStyle and creating outfits straight from Nordstrom.com 🙂 . Of course, I’m also linking up with my girls Erika, Narci and Andrea as well!
This week’s post kicks off with all the pretty colors…
…look at all the gorgeousness, friends!! It makes me so HAPPY!
When Nordstrom asked me to create a fall look from their site I was like “um, already doing that, Nordstrom, but happy to share!”. Free shipping, free returns, great customer service (truly the best!), experts ready to help in store…um, yes?!
I love fall colors.
I love fall clothes.
I love it all 🙂 .
I paired my new favorite pair of jeans (the ones from the Anniversary Sale) with some super comfy and cute ballet flats and voila, easy fall outfits were born…
I ordered this over-sized cardigan because I know so many of you ladies love a cozy sweater. The color is spot on for fall and the sleeves? Um…
…how cute, right? It comes in several other great colors for fall too! I don’t think I’m keeping this one because I’m more of a pullover gal, but I know many of you like the cardigan style sweaters, so I wanted you to see it. It is super cozy!
I really didn’t have any expectations for this tee…
…but I am so in love! How cute is this?! The sleeves are my favorite part! I’m (of course) wearing one of my favorite camis underneath 🙂 . It comes in several colors which is great because unfortunately, my color is sold out. Boo. It looks great topped with…
…a fall scarf 🙂 . (Psssst: look how cute it looks with the bracelet and ring I told you about last week!)
Now, this sweater right here…
…spoke right to my heart.
You know how averse I am to itchy sweaters (I cannot do it!!), but this sweater is LIGHT. Like super light. And bonus…it comes in many colors, but I thought this yellow was spot on for fall time!
You can even top it with that military jacket I bought last year for a complete fall outfit!
One last sweater for our Friday…
…it had me at green.
Green is my very favorite color 🙂 .
Look at the other colors it comes in…
…such a great collection of colors!
I thought the sleeves were cute on this sweater too!!
Come on September, I’m ready for you (and cooler weather!)!
Here’s a closer peek at my flats…
…it’s hard to describe these flats unless you’ve actually walked all day in a pair. They’re truly comfortable! I thought this dark tiramisu suede screamed FALL 🙂 . I can’t wait to wear these on repeat!
Guess what happened last night?!
We had our first home football game! We love going to our local football stadium and cheering on our football team.
I just know that I’m going to BLINK and these kids will attend school there. It’s always such a Varsity Blues kind of night when you’re at a Texas high school football game 😉 . #whodoesntlovebillybob
FYI: Right now, I’m smiling while I type this because I’m listening to Harry Connick Jr. sing in Sleepless in Seattle. I looooove the music in that movie so much!!!
I digress.
It would not be a Friday Favorites without me mentioning this…
…my AUGUST BOOK REVIEW was yesterday!!!
Whoop! Whoop!
Friends, I read four very different books this month…chick lit, mom-com, suspenseful and a truly gut-wrenching biography. You need to check out my reviews and read the comment section HERE.
This. Is. Epic.
I’ve said it a million times on here. My very favorite show to binge watch has been Breaking Bad. And now, there’s a spin-off movie coming to Netflix.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
I’m so excited!!!
One last thing, in honor of the last Friday in August…
…my End of Summer Supper menu 🙂 . I thought we’d wrap up those summer foods right before it’s time to launch into FALL FOOD!
Happy Friday, friends! I hope you have the best weekend!! I am so thankful for you and can’t wait to see you back here on TUESDAY! xo

Breaking Bad…best show ever!! Are you watching Better Call Saul? It’s the prequel to BB and is just as good of not better. Have a good weekend!

We had so much fun last night!! Those Thursday Night Lights (that doesn’t have the same ring to it??) always make for a good time!

Such a good post! You are my go-to source for both great reads and non-itchy sweaters! My baby skin just can’t handle it!
And we are also so psyched for the Breaking Bad movie!
Happy Labor Day weekend!

THOSE FLATS!!!!! I love them.

You say that you love the sleeves on the t-shirt I the post but we can’t see them. They are covered by your hair and the camera 😉
Mix and Match Mama says
I can see them! There’s a little ruffle!
Carol says
Yes because you own the shirt and are wearing it. All we see is the picture of your hair covering the sleeves!
Melissa Terry says
It will be just a blink…our oldest played his first high school football game last night and it was such a surreal moment. I am just trying to soak it all up…the atmosphere, the kiddos, there’s nothing quite like it. Texas Forever ; )

All these clothes are so cut and I love how they are great for transitional weather too!

Beth Valenta says
OK…I “needed” that cardigan just for the sleeves alone. I feel as though I am channeling you today at my school’s open house! Green fall sleeveless top, white jeans, peep toe booties! Shay ready. 🙂
Katie says
Girl, you NEEEEED to watch Friday Night Lights. It really captures Texas High School Football. My favorite part was all the different story lines (outside of the actual game) with the characters. And you will absolutely fall in love with the coach and his family. I feel like you and Andrew would enjoy watching it together.
Brooke says
Have you thought about doing a closet tour post? Your closet looks like it is so nice and I would to see it! I know, totally nosy. 😉
Amy says
You guys need to watch QB1 on Netflix… It a docu-series produced by none other Peter Berg!! It follows three high school QB in their senior seasons. What makes this so fun as these guys are now trying to make their way this current college football season and its cool to see their back stories, ( families, training, and recruitment processes) My favorite season is season 1 because it features Georgia QB Jake Fromm.
Mix and Match Mama says
I love anything by Peter Berg!!
Mare says
You should watch QB1 on Netflix. It’s on season 3 and they follow 3 of the top high school quarterbacks through their final season. It’s so good!!
Mary Jane McNeill says
Shay, you have the prettiest smile! Big and bright and genuine!
Ashley says
Is Andrew wearing a Red Sox shirt in that selfie?! I’m shocked!
Mix and Match Mama says
No, it’s a McKinney Boyd High shirt…that looks very similar…but (unfortunately for me) it’s not.

When the temps dropped to 70 (!!!!) today during the storm, I lit every fall candle I had. 😉 And then I checked the forecast for the next 10 days and its back in the 90s until who knows when. ?? But today was such a nice little tease!

Hey Shay!! You look darling in the military jacket! On Nordstrom’s website it shows that it runs small. Just wondering if you bought your normal size? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I did! I bought it in an xsmall.
Susy Watts says
Is the sweater true to size?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!
Laura Krause says
Interesting you say the TB flats are truly so comfortable. No shoe has destroyed my feet more 🙁 I want to love them so bad!
Mix and Match Mama says
Really? I’m wearing mine today! I hate that for you because there’s nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes!
