Awwwwwwwwwwe, I love a good beauty post!!!! If I’m scrolling through Instagram and see an influencer post one, I immediately head to her blog. They are my FAVORITE!
For this post, I did FOUR home videos (let’s all brace ourselves for the home footage shot early in the morning while I was getting ready, so it’s dark outside and the lighting is less than stellar…but it’s better than nothing!).
I tried to make this as user-friendly as possible. Here’s what you should do:
1: Watch the video to see exactly why I love each product and/or why I use a product or tool. (FYI: the videos get shorter as we work our way down. The first video is the longest because it explains all of my makeup.)
2: After you watch the video, I have the product and colors I use (if applicable) listed followed by a widget with all of their pictures (you can click and go directly to that product if you click the pic).
3: If I refer to any other blog posts in the video, I’ll include those links below as well.
Easy as that!
We’re starting with my UPDATED MAKEUP ROUTINE…
So, I wanted to specifically spotlight the three Tula products I mentioned as I know you aren’t all familiar with that brand. You guys know how much I love…
…this mask. I have several masks on rotation and then switch out different ones as I use them up over the year, but year after year, bottle after bottle, I always grab this one because it’s my fave. It doesn’t break me out, make my skin red, dry me out or make me feel tight, but it really does clean out my pores and make my skin feel hydrated and fresh! I was just told by a reader that right now, if you buy a star bright face mask at Tula, 100% of the proceeds will go towards helping healthcare workers in NY fight Covid. You can read about that HERE.
The primer I have been using is really nice, and I’ve enjoyed wearing it alone these last few weeks on days when I don’t put on makeup. It works great over my sunscreen! The rose glow eye balm isn’t a daily staple for me, but when I do use it, I think it freshens up my existing makeup without me having to layer on more concealer.
Here are all of the other products I mentioned in this video along with the colors/shades I wear:
Supergoop!(R) Supergoop! Smooth & Poreless 100% Mineral Matte Screen Sunscreen SPF 40 • Supergoop!
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops Duo — QVC.com (You can totally buy these drops at Sephora too but the price is too good at QVC so that’s where I buy them!)
Isle Of Paradise Isle of Paradise – Self-Tanning Water
Sol De Janeiro Sol de Janeiro – Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
Becca Cosmetics BECCA Undereye Brightening Corrector • Becca (in light/medium)
Bobbi Brown Primer Plus Radiance SPF 35 • Bobbi Brown
Lancome Le Crayon Khol EyeLiner • Lancôme (in blanc)
Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner • Lancôme (in noir)
Hourglass Vanish(TM) Seamless Finish Foundation Stick • Hourglass (In light beige)

And there here is a widget with all of the products:
I mentioned this post in the video…
…if you want to see my FOUNDATION REVIEW (and why I love these three!), click HERE.
Okay, this video shows you how I dry my hair each morning with my Revlon or Drybar brush…
…I did this comparison post in February…
…so if you want to know why I love each one/how they’re different/my thoughts on which one you should buy, click HERE.
The lip color I’ve been using is one of my favorites (I’ve used it for a long time!). It’s this RMS Lip2Cheek in Demure!
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush, Black
Drybar The Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush • Drybar
Okay, this next video is all about a new curling iron I’m using…
I’m like really, really in love with it! Remember these curls…
…all thanks to my new Drybar curling iron! I am using the 1″ barrel. You can see it all right here…
Drybar 4-Pack Hold Me Hair Clips • Drybar
Drybar 3-Day Bender 1-Inch Rotating Digital Curling Iron • Drybar
Verb – Ghost WeightlessHairOil
Whew! And this little video, has the final product…
A little hair, a little makeup, a whole lot of what I’m loving this spring!
Here’s a final outfit pic…
Here are my outfit deets: YELLOW TOP//SHORTS//SANDALS//BRACELETS//EARRINGS
…all dressed up, nowhere to go 😉 .
I might not have left the house, but I felt comfy and cute all day Monday! FYI: Right now, that yellow top is 50% off! I bought it TTS (xsmall).
Okay, what are you loving this spring?! Have you tried any of these products?? I’d love to know! Comment and share!!
Kara says
Where is the lip/cheek product from?! I didn’t see a link! Thanks!!! ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Sorry about that! I just added it!!
Brynn says
Is the color demure?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!
Erika Slaughter says
You were looking darling all dressed up with nowhere to go!
Taylor says
Love this post Shay! As a nurse taking care of COVID patients, this is exactly the type of distraction I need. Just an FYI, right now if you buy TULA’s face mask, they are donating a mask to healthcare workers in NYC.
Mix and Match Mama says
Really?! I’ll add that to my post so everyone knows!! GOD BLESS YOU, TAYLOR!!!!!!
Julie C says
I loved these videos!! It’s easier to understand how you use products rather than reading about them. I think next time you should put your makeup on on the video 🙂 And that curling iron is mind-blowing!!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I really thought it was too when she used it on me at Drybar!!
Sheaffer says
Wow! Great post!!!! I too love reading about others favorite products!! Xoxo
Christin says
Fun little distraction this morning 🙂 Do you just spray the tanner on or rub it in too?
Mix and Match Mama says
I spray and then lightly rub it around, let it dry about 3 minutes and I’m done!
Mary says
I love these post! What blush do you use? Also, what size did you get in the shorts. Thank you so much for making us feel normal in these crazy times:)
Mix and Match Mama says
Almost always Nars blushes! Orgasm is my favorite shade. And I bought the shorts in a 26. I’m wearing them right now!!

I have not worn makeup in two weeks
Mix and Match Mama says
I think that’s awesome too!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams says
I really want to try to the Charlotte tilbury filter powder and the CC chanel cream! I found other tanning drops I’m obsessed with called Tan LUXE drops. They work the same as the isle ones but I feel like I get better color with the tan LUXE. Can’t wait to get back to drybar one day!

Serena says
I love, love beauty posts and the videos are great! You are just beautiful!
I probably should know the answer to this question considering how much I love skincare and makeup but I struggle with the order to do eye creams, primers, etc. I have the BECCA undereye brightening cream and really like it but do you put that on BEFORE your actual concealer? I have to wear both due to dark circles … sigh.
Another great BECCA product is the Anti-Fatigue Primer (green) if you haven’t tried it.
Lastly, your engagement ring is STUNNING! Is it a cushion cut? (I hope this isn’t tacky to ask but diamonds are my jam. lol)
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I put it on first and then add concealer wherever I think I need it that day over it in areas. Okay, now, I”m going to check out that primer!!! And yes, it’s cushion cut!! 🙂
Mary says
Will you share your nail polish color? I think you mentioned you do gel nails, but is there a similar color we could use now since salons aren’t an option? Thank you. This was just what I needed today.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m actually going to attempt removing it today. (Insert me scared, nervous and sad!) It’s a Nexgen “dip” color that is now way past its prime since I can’t get my nails done, so I’m going to attempt to remove it at home.
Kim DePalma says
Great post! Thanks for the tips!! One question – are the isle of paradise drops that you use light? Or med? The link takes you to light on QVC. Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
The green bottle (medium, I believe!). Whatever green is!
Sabrina says
I loved this post!! That curling iron is revolutionary!! My tip for the Tula cooling stick…I use it FIRST thing in the morning when I wake up after I wash my face (before any other skincare). I let it sit on my face while I drink my coffee, etc., and I really feel like it “wakes” my eyes up and removes any puffiness before I start the day.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m going to try that tomorrow!!! Thank you!!
Bethany S says
Thanks so much for sharing all this! I always love your recommendations!
I just ordered the Isle of Paradise self tanning body butter earlier this week, since I love the drops so much, thanks to you!
Clare is helping us plan our trip to Hawaii, so the mix and match world is definitely making my life brighter (and tanner) these days! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
I love Clare! I hope you love her too and enjoy Hawaii!!!
Mary Elliott says
These videos are such a nice distraction from the chaos, thanks for posting. I might have to get one of those curling irons!
Mix and Match Mama says
God bless you, Mary!!
Danette says
Hi Shay! Thank you for sharing! I always enjoy it when you post videos! And I agree with Julie, I would also like to see you apply the makeup ?You have such an enjoyable down-to-earth, quirky and upbeat personality ? Our country is currently on lockdown.. so watching these videos really made my day!! ? Are you still using Viktor&Rolf purfume or have you changed? Hope you’re having the best day!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much!!!!!! I really appreciate this! And yes! I spritzed myself just this morning!
Lauren says
What bronzer do you use? Love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
i’ve been using Charlotte Tilbury!
Jami Romano says
Love the post! Great tips. I’ve been looking for a new eyeliner so I’m going to try the combo that you use. Do you put the white on your inner lash line or your outer lash line? Also can you share a link for your watch band please, I love that yellow! ◡̈
Mix and Match Mama says
I put it on my waterline at the very base of my lower lash line. And it’s an old band from the Apple store!
Jami Romano says
Thanks ◡̈
Natalie says
I have that Drybar curling iron and blow dryer brush and they’ve completely changed my hair for the better!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Mine too!!!
Alison T says
I love a good beauty post. Thanks for sharing another one of yours! You have really perfected the gorgeous neutral look. I think that drybar curling iron is next on my list! I am not a wand person at all. I need a clamp. 🙂
Sarah G says
Shay- was hoping to see a tutorial of the new bun you are doing! Would you share it on instagram?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!!
Suzanne says
Hi Shay!
Would you mind sharing with us what you’re thinking about your hair highlights if you cannot get to a salon in a month or two? Any thoughts or recs on what drugstore color could tide those of us with blonde highlights over in the interim?
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I”m going to let my roots just grow out. I was supposed to get my hair highlighted next Wednesday but have pushed it out to May. Sorry I don’t have any tips!
Lucy says
Such a fun and interesting post!
Janis Morin says
What was the good smelling coconut/vanilla you use that your Boston trip roommate was using and got you hooked called?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s the Bum Bum Cream! It’s the third one linked Sol De Janeiro!
Joyce says
Hi Shay, How often do you apply the tanning drops? Nightly? or a couple times a week?
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
About every 5 days!
Joyce says
Thank you!
Shannon says
Can you and Erika do a post about your wedding and engagement rings? They look so pretty, and I’d love to know more about them. It’d be fun for your readers to share about theirs as well!
Sarah Smith says
If looking to try a new primer – look into step 3 of the Recharge regimen from Rodan + Fields. It’s called Protect and Blur with SPF. It is kind of matte but a little goes a long way. Very light and holds everything really well.
Danna says
That yellow sweater looks good on you Shay! I have been wearing sweats, old t-shirts & no makeup for the last few weeks. I am going to get dressed with makeup and fix my hair…thanks for the encouragement.
Need to try the eye shadow palette. Its pretty.
Have you seen the Taylor Swift documentary? I enjoyed it. May I suggest “Good News” with John Krasinski on Youtube. Its not a documentary or series but a feel good video.
Have a great stay-in this weekend!
Emily says
Have you ever struggled with hormonal acne/acne? My face has been so horrible lately that I am embarrassed to even go to the gym without makeup on. Any tips would be amazing!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! For me, that is always one of the signs that my hormone levels are off. My dermatologist years ago was one of the people who encouraged me to look into Hormone Replacement Therapy to correct it.
Kim says
When you use the Isle of Paradise Self tanning water, you mentioned you spray and rub in. Do you then sleep with it on and don’t shower until the following night? Just wanted to be sure I understood the application process and whether you needed to shower after the application. I saw a review on this product and someone mentioned never to leave it on all night so was just wondering if that was just their choice of how they choose to use the product. Thanks so much.
Mix and Match Mama says
So, I always do it at night because I think it takes about 6 hours to “work”. I shower, spray myself and kind of rub it in (wash my hands) and go to sleep. The next morning, whether I shower or not, it’s “set”!
LJ says
Does the color transfer to your sheets? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
No ma’am!!
Nancy says
Shay, I just wanted to tell you that you’ve been looking so good lately with a nice healthy glow!!! I’ve got to get some of these products!
Mix and Match Mama says
You’re so sweet, Nancy! Thank you!!
