Friends, today’s post is sponsored by Disney+ and ShopStyle, but it might seriously be the easiest post I’ve ever written because WE’RE SO GENUINELY EXCITED ABOUT IT…
Um, seriously. We’re obsessed.
In November, ShopStyle reached out to me about reviewing the brand new Disney+ for a collaboration, but I had no idea what it was, so it sat in my inbox for several days. Then, I saw one of my friends post this on FB…
…and after reading the comments, I was like SIGN ME UP. So, the following Saturday morning, I huddled my kids together in my bedroom and signed us up. It was as easy as turning on my smart TV and clicking on the Disney+ app…it was RIGHT THERE!! I clicked it, decided to pay the $69.99 for the annual subscription (although, you can pay $6.99 a month too!), let my kids all create their custom profiles and BAM! We had access to everything Disney! Even Marvel. And National Geographic. And Star Wars. And Pixar. And Disney Jr. TV shows. The oldies and the new stuff too. ALL OF IT WAS RIGHT THERE! We were in Disney+ heaven! You get to stream the best stories in the world. All in one place. From classics to new releases, it’s unlimited access to everything you love about Disney including favorites you can’t watch anywhere else.
The only problem at that point was deciding what we were going to watch first because there were just too many great choices!! My favorite part about Disney+ is that one subscription works on all of your smart TVs plus you can upload the app on your phones and/or digital devices and watch them there too.
Here’s what we did…
…first we created our own profiles. You can have up to seven and there are a plethora of characters to choose from when customizing your very own. My kids were really excited about selecting their profile pics. Andrew and I went with the classic Mickey Mouse for our profile 🙂 . After we paid for the service and created our profiles, we selected a profile to watch our first show under and voila…
…we had access to all of it.
I was genuinely so impressed by the amount of content on here for families. It truly has everything for everyone in the whole family! Just the other night, we watched the original Parent Trap from 1961 together off of Disney+.
I don’t ever talk about brands I’m not absolutely in love with, so that’s why I am talking about this one today! I have told so many people I know to gift this to their kiddos or grandkiddos this Christmas. It’s the perfect gift because it keeps on giving all year long PLUS, you don’t have to wrap it or wait for it to arrive. It’s already right there on your phone, tablet or smart TV.
I also loved that Disney+ was even easy enough to for me to set up (because we all know that I’m not technologically savvy!).
You can now stream classics, new releases, TV series, and exclusive originals all right there on your TV or tablet. Start streaming today for just $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year…all ad-free. You can even start with a free 7-day trial to see what you think about it, but trust me, you’re going to love it!
Our family sleepovers are now way more fun with Disney+! I genuinely am so happy that we have discovered it too!
I love original gift ideas like this one especially for grandparents to gift families. When you have multiple kids, it’s nice to get gifts they can all enjoy, so this one is perfect for people like us. Okay, inquiring minds want to know, what’s your favorite Disney movie? I would love to know!! What should we watch next???
Thanks also to Disney+ for collaborating with me today! Fun posts like this make my mama heart super happy!! xo

Merideth says
Anything with Hayley Mills, especially Candleshoe! Also, I’ve never heard my boys giggle so much as when they watch The Apple Dumpling Gang with Don Knotts and Tim Conway!
Mix and Match Mama says
My girls have been watching all of the Hayley Mills movies!!! I forgot how great they all are!
Sharyn says
I’ve been watching all the old school movies that I hadn’t watched in YEARS as well as shows from my childhood. I think Kensington would love Lizzie McGuire!
Mix and Match Mama says
I need to tell her about that one!!
Michelle says
My youngest daughter has been binging Hannah Montana – and I’ve been enjoying it all over again! (I saw them all with the oldest when it originally aired)
My Star Wars obsessed son and husband are loving The Mandolorian, and all of the Avengers movies.
Narci says
Well, how fun! I’m going to have to check out Disney+ today!
Kelly Sites says
This is great. But the bigger question is, I see a huge stack of books on your nightstand, and I’m dying to know what books are there? Do a what’s on your nightstand post 🙂 I have a huge stack on mine, too.
Mix and Match Mama says
Bahahaha! Right?! And did you see my Kindle there too? #bookproblems
Erika Slaughter says
I’m hoping the Slaughter kids have this under their tree for Christmas!
Melissa says
I hope they paid your annual fee for the review!
Mix and Match Mama says
This post is totally sponsored, but I paid the annual fee because I wanted to make sure we loved it before I accepted the post and blogged about it.
Shannon says
The Ugly Dachshund is one of my faves.
Julie Gannon Psurny says
I’m obsessed with all the Disneynature movies! I’d never seen any of them before so it’s been a real treat. ( I think they were all in theaters at one time? But I’m not sure about that. ) Anyway the cinematography is just stunning and I love seeing all the animals and different places around the world. So far, Chimpanzees is my fave 🙂
Haddee says
My kids love a Disney show called “Recess”! My husband and I even like to watch it. I think it’s a great show for kids!
Kristyn Duenke says
My husband and I LOVE Disney plus!! My favorite is imagineering!! Such a good show!
Carrie says
I agree, awesome gift but there are no gift cards that I can find and chatting with someone from Disney, you basically need to have the household set up the email and password… my in laws gave it as a gift to us and just basically had me set it up and gave me a check. I want to gift it it my niece and nephew but I am having the same issue. If you have any links or suggestions that would be awesome. The Disney lady on chat was super sweet but had no suggestions!
Audrey says
I am giving Disney+ to my grown son for the holidays as well..Pepperidge Farm is currently making the goldfish cheese crackers in Mickey & Minnie Mouse shapes (I think it’s a limited run) and I’m going to print a little gift certificate and attach it to those. I think it will make a fun presentation!!
Janine says
DD is away at college now. But I wanted to give this to my BF. I had the same problem. I searched high and low but there was no way to get a gift card. So I finally decided to just tell him in advance & then I paid for it. Now he has it all set up and loves it! I love The Mandalorian!
Adriana says
Thank you for mentioning this because I thought it was crazy that I was having trouble figuring out how to gift it to my niece and nephews for Christmas :/
Lisa says
This is definitely great!! Three men and a baby was the first movie I watched!! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I loooooove Tom Selleck in that!!!!!! now, i feel inclined to watch it too! Hahahaha!
Theresa says
My adult kids asked for Disney+ for a Christmas gift for their family. The problem is there is no way to “gift it” for someone without just giving them the money. It would be nice to have a gift card that can be purchased that the receiver can redeem for the service.
Carrie says
I know, I posted about that too!! Since this was a give the gift of Disney + I was hoping for an answer!!
Elspeth says
This is a great gift idea! Perfect for families or relatives. I have been on the fence about it, but I may finally give in and get it. Thanks for the review!

Are those the pottery barn sleeping bags that are big enough for Smith too?? 🙂

The Imagineering Story is so good! Noelle is good and a bit Hallmark-ish. ? My kids also enjoyed the new Lady and the Tramp! We’ve also been watching a lot of classics – Swiss Family Robinson, Pollyanna, etc!
Elizabeth says
Not sure if other readers have already commented but if use Verizon, you get Disney + free for a year! My family loves it!!
Tracy says
Have you watched Noelle yet? Such a cute movie. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
We did over Thanksgiving break!!!

I. LOVE. The Original Parent Trap! SOOOOO good! My favorite Disney movie has to be Beauty and the Beast. I mean, she’s a brunette book lover living in France! But second is Princess in the Frog because I love Tiana’s work ethic ;). And the pretty South! My kids are 9,12,13 do you think they’re too old for this? Probably not but just curious if the content is geared towards younger kids. Thanks for this post-I didn’t even know this channel existed.
Nades says
My kids are 10, 13, and 15 and all love Disney +!
Nikki says
Can you download the videos to watch when you are offline (as in driving in the car?)
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s a great question…and I don’t know the answer. We haven’t done it!
Nicole says
Yes, you can!!
Claudia says
Yes, you can, but you have to be on WiFi to download! (So you can’t use cellular data to do it if you’re already on the road, but you can totally do it at home!)
Maureen Werner says
Yes you can!!
Jamie S. says
Yes! You can download to watch offline! My girls each downloaded a couple of movies and some episodes of shows to watch on a long road trip we had last weekend. It was fantastic!
Amanda Wilson says
Perfect post!! I have been thinking about getting this!!
Nicole says

We’ve already watched High School Musical 1, 2 and 3 and Camp Rock 1 & 2. I think I love it as much as the kids!

Mix and Match Mama says
Pottery Barn 🙂
Christine says
Oh my word – love the post but SHOCKED how grown Kensington is. Wow ! Beautiful children inside & out 🙂
Kimberly C says
OMG my list of Disney favorites is too long! The old ones are my favorite ? Growing up my mom would record them onto VHS for my sisters and I when the Disney channel would play them. I highly recommend: The Gnone Mobile, Apple Dumpling Gang (my boys ♥️ this one), Parent Trap, Swiss Family Robinson (Hayley Mills’s Dad was in this one), Moonspinners, Blackbeard’s Ghost, Super Dad (young Kurt Russell), Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Pete’s Dragon, and No Deposit, No Return. ? Whew. Thinking of these movies give me all the warm fuzzies from the memories of rainy days on vacation growing up ♥️? Hope you enjoy some of them like my sisters and I did!
Wendy says
My 16 year old has been on cloud nine since we got it and my husband and son are loving all the Star Wars movies. I watched Noelle the other day and it was a cute Christmas movie. Yay for Disney+! ❤️
Jennifer Goodwin says
I love the show Encore! I think you’d like it as well. Not sure if your kids would enjoy it, though. I also have been watching documentaries, like the one on how they decorate at Disney for Christmas, and I’ve watched Disney Weddings some. And the documentary on the pilot who landed the plane in the Hudson river. I love it and even my grown(ish) sons have been loving it and watching some of their old favorites, like Suite Life.
Deb Weber says
My son in college and his buddies are LOVING our Disney+ subscription!! Can you imagine a college dorm room full of football players watching Disney+?! Ha!!
Tracy says
We got it over the Thanksgiving break and all love it (daughters are 18 and 13). We watched the new Lady and the Tramp and loved it. Of course, the girls have been bingeing on Hannah Montana and High School Musical. My husband has been surprised at the stuff he has enjoyed too. Can’t wait for Christmas break to binge some more.
Emily says
I follow this woman named magical_kinda_mama on Instagram.. she’s ALL things Disney and she created a 25 days of Christmas from the Disney+ movies! I think you and your fam would love it.
Laura says
I have the same question as Nikki above. My Suburban has it’s own wi-fi signal so I wonder how to connect and watch movies while we drive?
Colleen says
I have four kids home sick today so we just joined. I love that there is a holiday section. And now we can spend some time putting up a profile, Thanks for the idea. I cannot wait to watch the new Noelle movie.
Anna Twedt says
It’s not necessarily our favorite, but we just watched “That Darn Cat,” last night and it was so cute and so fun! Both me and my husband had watched it with our parents when we were kids 🙂
KRISTIN LESTER says
The new Lady and the Tramp is super cute!!
Martha says
We grew up with the old Kurt Russell movies like “Now You See Him, Now You Don’t” and “The Strongest Man in the World” as well others like “The Shaggy D.A.” and “Million Dollar Duck” – such fond memories for me. I am so glad to see all these classics from a simpler time get
re-released for this fast-paced generation to enjoy. I guess I know what my family will be doing over the school break, thanks Shay! (Note to self, subscribe to Disney+, pick up ingredients for adult hot chocolate….)
Sara M. says
Love that you’ve found this and shared about it!
This is very off topic, maybe a little odd, but I’d love to know—what all goes into your bedding?! (Is it a fitted sheet, then a regular sheet, then a blanket, then a quilt or a comforter, etc.?!) This year, my husband and I are determined to have an “adult” bedroom set, and have asked for gift cards for christmas to help achieve that, as ours still looks like we’re in a college dorm! How do you make it so cozy?! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh gosh, we laugh because we have so many layers!! Andrew keeps our house FREEZING, so lots of layers it is! We have a fitted sheet, top sheet, velvet quilt, regular quilt and then a duvet with a cover on it plus the bedding folded at the bottom.
April says
The Parent Trap & That Darn Cat ❤️
Staci Patyrak says
You must watch the Disney+ Original Christmas movie called Noelle! So good!
You CAN download content.
You can bundle with other streaming services like Hulu as well if you already have those.
Julie says
Yes to this!! My kids are 19 and 21 and down in Colorado and Montana in college (we live in Alaska) and they were SO EXCITED when my husband got Disney+. They’re re-living their childhood watching the old shows and it was hilarious to see them react so quickly when he set up the account??? We’re never ever too old for Disney!!
Michele says
My favorite of ALL time is Mary Poppins. I’m obsessed.
Mix and Match Mama says
That was always my favorite growing up!!!
Meg says
So would this be good to replace Netflix?
Mix and Match Mama says
Only if you want to watch only Disney content and nothing else.
Arika says
Robin Hood is still my fave Disney animated movie!
Velvet says
Didn’t know about it, but now I’ll definitely check it out ’cause it sounds like lots of fun! It will be great to have during Christmas break…!

Lisa says
Shay! Have your kids heard “The Greatest Snowman” parody song yet?! I remember you saying they loved The Greatest Showman!
Mix and Match Mama says
Um, no!!! Looking it up right now!! Thank you!!
Beth Hall says
Flight of the Navigator! It’s an 80’s ET-inspired classic starring a very young Sarah Jessica Parker. It may be more for the older kids than the younger ones so you may want to watch it first just to make sure. But it’s soooo good!!!
Kim S. says
This is off topic. But I just bought the “Step Up to The Snack Bar Mix” from Trader’s Joe and I’m in love. It is so yummy!! It has honey mustard pretzel pieces, honey roasted peanuts, corn chips with flax seeds, cheddar crackers, honey roasted sesame sticks and chili lime corn sticks.
Mix and Match Mama says
Well that sounds delish!!
Julie says
Just watched Noelle on it, its cute for the holidays!
