Oh my gosh.
I am tired.
And so behind on life.
And need coffee.
On Friday, Andrew and I took off work and worked our fingers to the bone getting our guest bathroom, kitchen and living room back together.
Movers came.
Furniture and boxes arrived.
We unpacked.
We unpacked some more.
It was a blur of craziness.
When the flood happened, it was so chaotic in my house, and we were just moving stuff out of the way in the middle of the night so it wouldn’t be damaged and then two days later, movers showed up and packed everything and took it away…so needless to say, when I started opening boxes it would be a box that had a bedroom pillow inside, one slipper, a floor outlet cover and two candles. Ha! We sorted and then re-labeled everything that didn’t belong in the living room, guest bath or kitchen and then they took it back to wherever it is they’re keeping my stuff (the insurance sorted all of that out, I just know that it’s out of my way at home 😉 ). After that, our weekend got crazy with Madeley’s Gotcha Day, Kensington’s birthday, my mom’s birthday, and sports…sooooooo that’s all I have right now.
I’m going to go drink that coffee now.
The good news is that a huge part of my house is looking normal!! Today, we’re going to fix up the dining room and library and then (hopefully) I’ll put some pumpkins out! As long as we don’t open my bedroom door or go upstairs, it looks so normal! PRAISE THE LORD. We still don’t have windows, ceiling fans, hardware…some sheetrock and trim here and there, but for the most part, the downstairs is lookin’ good (except seriously, don’t open my bedroom door or go upstairs).
I’ll see you guys back here tomorrow 🙂 . Happy Monday!!!!!!! xoxo

Yay! Glad to hear there is progress! I’m pretty sure I read in one of my medical journals that pumpkins have been scientifically proven to relieve stress. Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin muffins. Pumpkin bars. Pumpkin decor.
What mess? What trim? What windows? #pumpkintherapy
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!! YES, YES, YES!! I won’t have windows and doors installed for another three weeks or so…but if I have pumpkins, I WON’T CARE!!! 🙂

Oh Shay, I am right there with you this morning! I woke up and truly contemplated going back to bed. But, I am on a quest to get up earlier (you have inspired me) so here I am after quiet time and a Peloton workout, feeling much better. I am SO happy your house is getting there! I bet having even a few rooms back to normal will help everyone feel better. You can have Fall movie nights now! And fall baking! Hang in there and I’m excited to see all your pumpkin photos.

I never regret getting up and working out/doing my quiet time. It’s weird…but even if I’m so tired, doing that always makes me feel a sense of pride and kicks off my day on the right foot.

I am feeling the NOPE picture this morning. We’re having a house built and decided to get our current house on the market. Little did we know it would sell in TWO days. So we spent this weekend moving into an apartment, knowing that we are going to be moving again in three months. UGH!!! We’re so looking forward to the new house, but moving twice was.not. in the picture. YAY…..our house sold. BOO….moving twice. And, my husband just changed jobs. If nothing, life is interesting. We’re just trying to hold on at this point. I’m so happy for you that there is progress that can be seen in your house and pumpkins are in your future. Enjoy!!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s a blessing and a curse, right?! It’s probably INSANE right now, but I bet it’s all going to be totally worth it!!!!

It’s going to look and feel so good when it’s all done! And just think- you are so much closer to November 1st now than you were when it started. I know I can’t wait to see it all put back together!

Glad you are starting a return towards normalcy! I can relate- we just picked up everything and moved from Southern California to the suburbs of OKC ? Our movers brought everything to our new house last Tuesday, so it’s been nonstop unpacking ever since…and I still have SO far to go! This move has been one big stressful adventure for sure! But I know it will all get done eventually…just taking it one day at a time. I too hope to get my pumpkin decor unpacked soon! ?
