Happy Thursday, friends.
I hope your week is going well!! I’m just sittin’ over here drinking a #psl and eating pumpkin spice everything while shopping the Colleen Rothschild sale. Okay before we get to today’s content, just a quick heads up, SO MANY OF YOU ask me what skincare my mom uses and THIS IS IT! My mom started using this about six months before I did (I started in April 2019), and we both love it. Starting today, they’re having their FRIENDS & FAMILY SALE where you get 25% off your entire order with code FAMILY25. I love so many of their products, but these right here are mine and my mom’s holy grail, daily go-tos:
RADIANT CLEANSING BALM: This is the only thing we use to take off our makeup…even waterproof liner and mascara. It’s amazing!
SHEER RENEWAL CREAM: Our daily morning moisturizer
AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM: Put this on after you cleanse and before you moisturize…it’s a powerhouse of vitamins to make sure your skin glow, reduce lines and brown spots…it does it all!
RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM: This is the only eye cream we use both morning and night!
EXTREME RECOVERY CREAM: Our nighttime moisturizer
If you’ve ever been curious about their brand, now is a great time to try it 25% off!!
Okay, here’s a little look at life lately.
Another Madeley selfie discovered. This kid cracks me up.
I’m not sure there’s anything more fall than Saturday football. We have LOVED watching our boy play this season!!
These two were trying to make mad/scary/witch faces (like their shirts)…but they just couldn’t hold it in!
Aw. No filter. Just a bit of backyard magic.
We have had so much fun sitting out by our fire pit at night. It’s been a fun way to enjoy a fall evening at home!
The perfect s’more has a peanut butter cup instead of chocolate (in my opinion!) and is gluten-free using…
…these!! Our grocery store sells them right on the cracker aisle.
Love her.
We love the chillier weather in the morning before school! Some days, we play out front a minute, some days, we all walk the dogs, other days, we walk to school…it’s just delightful first thing in the morning when the weather is crisp and clear before school.
She amazes me day after day.
Around 5:00, I thought I hadn’t seen Mades in a while, so I went looking for her…and found that she put herself down for a post-school nap. Ha! Kindergarten is hard, y’all!
Our school is allowing parents to make reservations to eat lunch with their kids (limited number of parents each day, must sit isolated, wear a mask, etc), so Madeley was super surprised and excited when her first visitor surprised her for lunch…her sweet dad 🙂 . They sent me this selfie.
And just so you all know it’s not always sunshine and roses over here. Put her down, Smith. Put her down.
I walked by and saw this sweet moment. Madeley was helping her big sister get her shoes on since it’s hard for her only using one arm. Side note: were all these pictures taken on the same day? No. We’re just going to wear the same Halloween outfits A LOT until November 1st. I’m laughing because Madeley also wore that outfit MONDAY too! What in the world?! We need to diversify!
Blurry pic, happy mom. I love being his mama too. He’s a such a sweet boy.
That’s a little look at life lately. See you guys tomorrow. xo
Erika Slaughter says
Madeley’s outfit is so cute! She could wear it daily until November 1st!

Loved your Trader Joe’s post! Wondering what your usual daily eats look like? What time do you eat your meals? Do you have snacks? Or treats before bed? When do you drink coffee and how much? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I should do an updated “what I eat” post! Writing that down!
Nicole says
How many days a week are you currently working out? How often do you work out at home, or go to the gym?
Mix and Match Mama says
Right now, I’m going to the gym about twice a week and then working out at home 3 to 4 days.
Elspeth says
I love your backyard set up!!! Are you using it more in the fall than you thought you would?

Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!!!
Robin OSBORNE says
I taught kindergarten, teachers need naps at the end of the day too!
Sheaffer Sims says
That fire pit area looks downright MAGICAL!!!!!! And I love the tying shoe pic. That’s the sweetest.
Brea says
Updated skincare routine please? I’m going to try some that you listed here. BUT We took family photos and my skin could use some more tlc. I always like to see how you mix and match your skincare products. I need help ha. And I always like your posts for advice 🙂
kathy says
Your firepit area looks like a fairytale! Love it!
Shannon says
Love that fire pit! And your story the other night showing y’all watching You’ve Got Mail by firelight? Dreamy!
Natasha says
This is super random, but how does Kensington get to school? In our area, once you’re in middle school, you get there on your own — walking, biking, or taking the city bus with friends — so I was curious about this when we you mentioned walking to school with the younger kids.
Mix and Match Mama says
We can also walk to our middle school too (just not our high school). We drive her some days when we’re headed out somewhere, but just this morning, Andrew and I walked her…it’s always a nice treat when it’s just the OG of the Shull family 😉 .
Natasha says
I’m already a little sad because once kids hit middle school here (Gr 7), it’s no longer “cool” for parents to walk with their kids. I will miss that 🙁
Dana says
Love these posts! I bought the jumbo cleansing balm back when it was on major sale and started using it in January. I think it’s going to last the entire year, if not more! Pretty good value in my book. Just one question-how do you get it to take off your mascara? I actually have to use 2 different makeup removers to get it all. Not sure what I’m doing wrong?! (And a little tip-the Clinique cleansing balm is more moisturizing around the eye area!)
Mix and Match Mama says
I just rub a little on my lashes and wipe it off with a cloth. You must be using a stubborn one, Dana! 😉
Lindsey says
Where is your steelers shirt from? Did you get it made? I need one!
Mix and Match Mama says
Etsy!!
Angela Ellingson says
All the adorable-ness!
Allena Gurley says
I’ve been saving our Halloween outfits to get closer to Halloween, but now after seeing all your pictures, we need to bust ours out!!
Jennifer says
maybe I just missed the first time you used this, but what exactly is #psl? ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Joanne says
At least they are getting lots of use out of seasonal items they would outgrow by next year! 🙂
Camille says
Does Andrew feel any different eating gluten free? I know he has his own health things going on that you weren’t sure about what exactly they were.
Mix and Match Mama says
Ohhhhh…we’ll think he’s doing so much better and then all of a sudden, he’ll have an episode. We cannot figure him out!
Katie says
Where do you buy Kensington’s jeans? My daughter is similar in size/body type and she’s very particular about how her jeans fit/feel.
Mix and Match Mama says
Nordstrom has had them lately! Joe’s!
MelanieL says
I love all the sweet pics around the fire! I used to get a little panicky when my kids would crash after school (oh no, are they sick?!?) but I’ve come to realize every grade is hard to get used to apparently and even my 10th grader crashed a couple times after school earlier this year. 🙂
Kelly says
Your life lately posts are always a favorite! The girls always look so cute in their holiday clothing:). Just curious, do you pick out the little girls clothing each day or do they choose themselves? I probably chose my children’s clothing longer than I should have #controlfreak 😛
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s a combo at this age. They went through a phase when they didn’t want to match, but now, they’re back to wanting to match (I think it’s fun when they see each other at school and are matching).
Nancy Wempe says
Do you remember where you got the rug Madeley is sitting on in the 2nd to last pic? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Home
Christina says
Where is your outdoor movie screen/projector from? Can you please link and share how it works? I’m thinking this could be a cool Christmas gift idea for my hubby. Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Getting the scoop from Andrew! I will put it on tomorrow’s post!!
Leela says
How did you string up those lights around your firepit? So pretty, I have a similar yard and love the idea of putting in a firepit!
Mix and Match Mama says
Andrew ran extension cords over there!
Kary says
Hi! Thanks for all of the skincare recommendations. Do you have a daily face sunscreen you recommend?
Mix and Match Mama says
Supergoop Glow Screen!
Julie says
LOL-that picture of Madeley face down on her bed is everything. “If Covid were a photo!” Love seeing your beautiful family.
How does the CR eye cream compare to Chanel? I’m looking for a change and a wondering if you found CR better?
Mix and Match Mama says
I keep going back to the CR one. It’s a really thin…yet thick but not creamy texture. I love it!
Sara says
Happy fall! Curious, what is the bug situation in Texas/fall for you all? Wondering if you treat that area around the fire pit to better enjoy it?!
Mix and Match Mama says
The bug situation is terrible in the summer at my house, so we have a company come out and treat regularly all year long to make it better. We use Mosquito Joe’s!
Yvonne C says
I know your family is doing gluten free, but if you ever get a chance, try a smore with a Reece’s peanut butter cup and Ritz crackers. So good! It’s my favorite way to make smores. Also use the different Ghiradelli squares with graham crackers. Love your life lately posts!
Mix and Match Mama says
A Ritz cracker?! I am so intrigued by this!!!
Pattie says
I love my daily visits with your fam!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you!!!!
Alison T. says
That photo of Smith picking up Madeley, against her will apparently. Cracks me up! Refreshing to see your kids get on each other’s nerves. Lol. They often look so blissful together and I wonder to myself, what kind of magic water you have them drink. 😉
Sandi Wiedmaier says
I started using the Radiant Cleansing Balm about two years ago. It’s the most expensive product I use but so worth it. When the jumbo jar goes on sale it is great deal. I use the smallest amount and make it last as long as I can, which makes the cost per use explainable to my husband 🙂 The first time I purchased this line was with birthday money. The second time was my own money. Don’t laugh, but I put a label with the date on the bottom to see how long it would last. It was about five months. Not a bad daily investment for the quality!
Life by the fire pit looks divine!
Mix and Match Mama says
It really is so hydrating even though you wipe it off, right? I love it too!
Stephanie Platt says
You and Andrew really have the most sweetest family. Thanks for letting us get a peak into your lives. You bring such positivity and light! I really enjoy reading your blog and following along on your Instagram
Misty S. says
A Keebler fudge stripe cookie will change your life in a s’more! 😉 (not GF but delicious) I was wondering if you have tried the Pamcakes pancake mixes? My fitness coach suggested the mixes because they are high in protein and GF! They have flavors like pumpkin spice, white choc chip, double choc chip, and confetti cake. I know that your kiddos love a pancake. I’m going to order some for myself. My weird-o kid (LOL) doesn’t like pancakes.
Rene Kiser says
All these fall pics make my heart happy
Diana says
Our school won’t even let parents in the building this year. My oldest just started kindergarten, so it’s hard! ? Glad you guys can eat lunch with yours, enjoy it! ?
Patty says
As someone who has been gluten free for almost 11 years, I can tell you that the Pamela’s products are just the Best!
Danna F says
Your fire pit area is dreamy! Reece’s..um, why have I not tried that yet!
Love the pics of Madeley, made me chuckle!
I think my mom and I need to try the C R products. Enjoy your family and posts.
