It’s the last Friday in August!
I am not calm. I am so excited!!!
I hope you’re excited too!
This has been a good week. It’s Friday, and I’m a little tired, but I feel like we are in our new schoolyear routine and movin’ right along. I wasn’t too busy (always a good thing) this week, and I’m looking forward to my weekend. I’m just happy that it’s the end of August and there is a lot of fall fun in my future.
As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing my faves!
Happy (almost fall) Friday to YOU!!!
I try to hit Trader Joe’s once a week, and this week, while I was there, I grabbed a few things I thought I should share (why does that sentence sound like Dr. Seuss wrote it?! Ha!)…
I don’t always find these in store, but when I do, I buy two boxes. This is a crazy good combination and perfect for an easy lunch!
I. Can’t. Say. Enough. About. This. Cheese. I am very scared that it’s seasonal because I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! If you love a good grainy mustard and a cheddar (especially if you love a mustard on your charcuterie board!), this cheese is for YOU!!! I was enjoying it as a snack earlier this week when Andrew got nervous that I was going to eat it all. He was all “save some for me too”…you guys, we might end up fighting over this cheese! It’s that good!!!
These little cookies made it home with me this week too! They’re small and perfect for an afternoon treat or dessert. The whole family approves!
You guysssssss…I hope these Buffalo Style Chicken Wraps aren’t seasonal too! I typically eat half a wrap with a salad for lunch, but this was so good that I ate the entire thing in one sitting with my salad. It’s the perfect creamy and spicy combo, and I would probably eat it every day if I could! Love it!!
Big things happened this week for the two little girls…
…they had their first cheer class!! Woohoo! This year, instead of dance, both girls wanted to take a cheer class. THEY WERE SO EXCITED!! I really can’t remember a time when both of these cuties were as excited to do something as they were this class. They’re working on all sorts of things to make them ready for middle school cheer tryouts (should they decide). After their 30 minute lesson, they were both exhausted, sweaty and happy. When I went to make dinner, this is what I found…

…Mades was too worn out to even get her backpack ready for the next day. Ha!
I love it when my kids find activities they really get excited about!
Speaking of excited…
…Andrew brought me my first #psl of the season this week! That officially declares it fall, right?!
Now, I don’t always get an actual pumpkin spice latte…my normal drink is a venti pike with one pump of pumpkin spice and a splash of cream. It’s my lighter version of the original (which I get non-fat, no whip). What is your go-to fall Starbucks drink? I’ll try something new!!
Just a reminder that I love this eye cream 🙂 . This is what I wear every morning, and I just had to buy a new jar because I was fresh out. I really do think that when I use this, I see a big difference in my undereye circles. I will never get enough sleep…so I always appreciate a little help from a jar. At night, I use this eye cream.
One more thing, I just ordered my second jar of…
…this amazing Glowstarter that I’ve shared with you. I love it so much! I wear this every single day over my daily moisturizer and under my foundation. I use it as a “primer”. It smells like an orange dreamsicle and gives me make hydration plus a bit of glow.
Of course, this was by far my favorite Fave from this week…
I’m still all sorts of sappy about it. Right now, the BOGO sale is still going on! You can grab this one or any of the other bracelets or earrings from Sheaffer’s new collection and buy one, get one.
Those huggie earrings in her collection get my heart all sorts of excited too!! And of course, here are the deets on the rest of the outfit: TANK, SHORTS, SLIPPERS, NECKLACE, other NECKLACE.
Well, someone turn down the a/c, I need to start wearing these boots…
…STAT! I love my Lexie boots so much that I bought a new pair for this fall/winter. They come in so many different colors, but the laces had me with this pair 🙂 .
And wrap up this week with my End of Summer Supper menu!
Today, I have two summery cocktails, a couple of appetizers, salads, entrees and a dessert option to end your summer.
That’s it for this Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’ll see you on Monday!! xx

That’s awesome timing!

Do you get the sun or nude glow? Yum! I always love your Trader Joe’s faves! What is your go to salad with wraps or frozen items from there? Also, my go to Starbucks order is a almond or oat milk cafe misto with one pump of pumpkin! If you order food, what is your go to from Starbucks? So many questions, haha! Thank you! Happy Friday!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I should have said that! I use nude glow!
Julie says
Thanks for sharing all these fun finds! I also love both the banana eye bright cream and the shape tape from your video yesterday. Question, do you put the eye bright cream over the shape tape? (For under eye coverage). I’ve never used them both together so I’m curious what order they would go in. I’ll have to try! Ole Henriksen also makes an orange-smelling overnight face cream that is A-mazing. I think you would like that too! Enjoy the weekend!
Carly says
On the glowstarter…sunglow or nudeglow a better shade for you?
Mix and Match Mama says
Great question! I use nude glow!
Suzie Payne says
Try a Pumpkin Chai Latte from Starbucks!!! So good !!!!
Kathy says
Sounds great!

We had a special friend drop of a flower arrangement and the vase was a glass pumpkin with all sorts of fall colored flowers. It just made our weekend and end to what has been a crazy few weeks more beautiful!!!
Have a great weekend!!!! Good Luck to the kiddos with their sports!!!
Mary says
I’ve been using the glow starter moisturizer and the eye cream all summer, since you posted them and love them both!! Happy Friday ?

YAY!!!! They’re so good, right?!

Shay. I have to tell you-normally I could never go wrong with one of your suggestions. Yesterday was a tough day and I got your Starbucks order as a little treat. I told the barista I wanted it iced. It was AWFUL! ? It was hot (didn’t know a Pike is always hot!), so they threw in a few ice cubes and made it lukewarm. ? I also don’t really love coffee so 1 pump wasn’t enough for sweet-loving palate. I’m gonna stick with my pumpkin cold foam cold brew and just walk an extra lap or 2! ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh no! I’m sorry your Shay fail was on something pumpkin! That just doesn’t seem right 😉 .
Dana P says
I figured it out! I didn’t catch that you ordered a grande coffee, just in a venti cup. That makes so much sense because I couldn’t taste the pumpkin at all. I’m so relieved. I know you’d never steer us wrong! ? And it sure wasn’t your fault that she added some ice cubes to a hot coffee and made it lukewarm. ?
Kathy says
What a sweet husband to bring you your first Pumpkin Spice!
I always think of you when I use that pumpkin scrub you’ve mentioned on your blog. I think it’s from Peter Thomas Roth? It’s great!
I’m bringing out my bins of fall decorations in 2 weeks and I can hardly wait.
Have a great day from a fellow fall lover!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!!! It’s a great face scrub/mask! I love that one!
Susan S. says
Love those bracelets from Sheaffer! Also my daughter got me hooked on Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Cold brew with extra cold foam! So good!

We are finally getting a Trader Joe’s in our area! I can’t wait to try out all the seasonal and other great finds! Also, Madeley lol;)

Heading to trader joes later today with my gluten free girlie, and stopped by to intentionally check out your trader joe recommendations. Love seeing this cheese and will add that to our cart for sure!

This is random, but I’ve been thinking it after reading your Nantucket posts! When is the best time to go to Nantucket? We are thinking of planning a trip mid-April (Easter), but didn’t know if it would be too cold, things weren’t open yet, etc. Thanks! ?Have a great weekend!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I would go after Memorial Day if it’s your first trip!
Debbra Weber says
Love the pic of Mades sprawled on the floor! I can totally relate. Ha! Do you have a link to the rug she is sprawled out on? I love it and am looking for something new.
Mix and Match Mama says
We had that made from a custom rug/carpet store here in McKinney to fit the space.
Joanne says
I don’t think I have ever gotten a drink from Starbucks… maybe food once?? They aren’t very popular up here.
Emily says
Have you tried the “Cinderella Latte?” A PSL with half the pumps pumpkin and half white mocha? It’s delicious. I think you prefer hot coffee but the pumpkin cold brew is also amazing, I also do half pumpkin, half white mocha for that one.
Mix and Match Mama says
What?! I love this!!!!
Amie says
Loving the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew….sooooo good!!
Keesha says
I’m making my first trip to Trader Joe’s next week because a new one just opened about 25 minutes from me! I can’t wait! I’m using your posts as my guide. ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!!!! You will be HOOKED!!!!
Lori says
My go to drink is always a London Fog with almond milk. I’m pretty sure I heard about London Fogs from you! 🙂 I’m trying to wait until September 1st for my first PSL of the season! Happy Friday!
Mix and Match Mama says
YAY! I love this drink!
Amanda Udell says
Try a grande blonde roast coffee (black/no sweetener or dairy) with pumpkin cream cold foam on top from Starbucks. The cold foam melts into the coffee and basically creates a way cheaper, way lighter version of the PSL! It’s our fall go-to around here, and all of our friends are hooked now too! Equally as good is a grande cold brew black/unsweetened, with pumpkin cream cold foam on top.
Mix and Match Mama says
Ohhhhhhhhhh! Trying this tomorrow!
Melissa Henne says
My Starbucks go to is Hot Vanilla Chai tea latte – sometimes with a shot of espresso
Jennifer Maynard says
Love the iced chai latte with oak milk with pumpkin cold foam. Just had my first of the season this morning!
Anne Miller says
I just wanted to let you know that your post Martha’s Vineyard v Nantucket just popped up in my Google news feed.
Mix and Match Mama says
Well, that’s fun!
Lizzie says
Shay, I’ve been dying to know since you posted it to your IG Stories – why the venti cup for the grande drink? I have been trying to think of a reason and it’s driving me bonkers that I can’t figure it out!! 😀
Mix and Match Mama says
Ohhhhhh! Good question! I feel like with Pikes you get too much coffee and the cup is too full/spills out. The grande in the Venti gives me more room for cream and/or just not to spill it.
Leanne Gilchrist says
I think I’m the last person on earth to hear about Victoria Emerson, and dang it, I went to your links and ohhhhhhh boy, I LOOOOVE it all! The Ashby, what a unique and cool bracelet, I love the wrap style~~a tangible reminder for us to pray for Ashby every time we wear our Ashbys! I’m ordering one on Friday.
No Starbucks for me, though I live 2 hours from where it was born~~Red Leaf is my coffee place of choice, local, small, organic.
I WISH we had a TJ’s close to us. Here’s a buffalo shredded chicken crock pot idea for you: chicken breast in the pot. Pour 1/4 C buffalo hot sauce over it (I love Frank’s). Sprinkle that with garlic powder. Cook on high for 4 hours. Before you shred it, add 1/2 stick of butter. Shred. This is incredibly versatile: use it for nachos, enchiladas, wraps or salads. Serve it with bleu cheese and diced celery!
God bless you, dear Shay!
(Sorry for my always long comments!) 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Leanne, you’re always one of my faves! God bless YOU!
Leanne Gilchrist says
Shay, I sure would like to hug your neck! My daughter, Kellie, is going to be going to school about a half hour from you in Watauga, TX, and I’d LOVE to visit McKinney in May!
I’m PRAYING!
