‘Tis the season for lots of Christmas cheer!
We are trying so hard to make as many holiday memories as we can during this month (and in between all the other ‘things’ we have going on!). I have some fun pics of our very festive weekend for you, but first…
…so many of you asked for Lori’s award winning recipe from our annual Recipe Exchange! The Jingle Juice she brought made everyone super, super happy and won the night’s grand prize. You guys, she found this recipe HERE and tweaked it just a bit by using ginger ale instead of Cherry 7-Up and maraschino cherries and juice. She also says to make sure you use BRUT rose 🙂 . I hope you all make a batch (or individual servings!) and enjoy!
Now, here’s a little look at our very festive life lately…
After school on Friday, we loaded up with the Slaughters and drove about 45 minutes to the Texas/Oklahoma border for some outdoor, low-key, small town ice skating.
Skating in Denison has become one of our new favorite traditions 🙂 .
Spending time with the framily is really the best way to kick off any weekend!
For lunch on Saturday, Kensington and I had a fun Secret Santa gift exchange for her volleyball team. Just two girls in their holiday sweaters!
Then on Saturday night, it was my VERY FAVORITE MCKINNEY TRADITION!
After a festive dinner, we had our town’s annual LIGHT PARADE!!
We missed this parade so much last year, and I really think they brought it back even bigger and better!
If you ever want to live inside a Hallmark holiday movie, please come to this parade 🙂 .
It’s magical.
The weather was chilly, but we had fun bundled up with our friends!
McKinney has a population of about 200,000, but it’s events like this that make it still feel “small town”.
It was such a magical night! Truly, this is my favorite McKinney “thing”. Where was Smith? One of his buddies has a December birthday, so they turned the Light Parade into part of his party. Smith was enjoying the festivities on the other side of the square with his friends!
If you’re looking for an easy and super delicious appetizer to make right now, I have that for you today too! Make sure you check it out HERE!
Have the best Tuesday!

Tips for making single servings of the jingle juice? ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Use a shot glass and portion out the alcohol that way. Add ginger ale to top off the glass.

Making memories! That’s what it’s all about!

The boys ice skating in shorts! Now that’s something we don’t really see up here in MN on our rinks! lol

Good grief, our weather has been so weird over the last week! My travertine on the patio will not stop “sweating” profusely because of the change in temp. Agh!!!

Whipped cream vodka also makes excellent “Root Beer Floats!” Just buy a high quality root beer and add vodka. Top with whipped cream if you’re feeling fancy or have leftovers from Christmas dinner. Super easy spa drink. ?

Um, YES!!! I need to try this!!!
