Friends! We officially made it to the end of the year! Whew! I know things aren’t “normal” but geez, what a better year than the one before. I don’t know about you, but I was nervous going into 2021 about what would be in store, so to finish the year in a better place than where we started feels like a huge victory.
This is my last post for 2021. After I hit publish this morning, I have super fun activities this morning and this afternoon at my kids’ school. Starting at 4:00 PM today, the Shull six all officially find themselves on Winter Break too. We’re going to sleep late, watch movies, eat a lot of good food, see lights, visit with family, and soak in the season. We’re also excited about our annual snowboarding/ski trip and the adventure that awaits us as we ring in the new year. I will pop into Instagram from time to time over the next few weeks, but honestly, I’m going to take this time and truly plug in to my family.
This wraps up my 14th year blogging with this community and dare I say, this was my favorite. You guys, together, we raised over $100,000 for pediatric hospitals this year. Read that again! WE RAISED OVER $100,000 FOR PEDIATRIC HOSPITALS THIS YEAR! I’m still in shock. That in itself was the greatest accomplishment this little community has ever had. God bless each and every one of you for helping me make that possible.
So, if you’re looking for me from now until next year, check Instagram on occasion. I’ll be back online here in blog world January 4, 2022 (Ashby’s 7th Gotcha Day!) for a whole new year of fun. I’m already excited about what the future holds for us all.
I say this a lot, but I’m going to say it again…I love Christmas so much. I think about it far more than any normal person should. I get so excited when I spot my first twinkle light, tree lot, hear my first carol on the radio and start to deck my halls. I love the music, the movies, the weather, the ugly sweaters, the food, the hustle and bustle, the chaos of it all…but what I love most and what is MOST important to me is that it is the birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. HE is the reason for the season. HE is my hope, my joy, and my peace. If you do not think you know Jesus…really know Jesus, I invite you to read this post HERE about my faith. No one would want me to share this with you more than my Mimi. She would want you to know that Jesus is truly the only way to peace, love, and joy in life.
Per usual, I’m ending my year with all the pictures we had taken from our family photo shoot this fall. The Shull fam doesn’t get dressed up and in front of an actual photographer very often, so we’re always super excited when the time comes. This year, we used the incredible Brittany from B Faith Photography for our family pictures. She was AMAZING! Below, you’ll find all of our pics from this year along with a few cameos from some other people you might now 😉 . B Faith even sent us the last picture on the post for some extra holiday magic.
From my home to yours, we’re wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May the light and love of Jesus Christ be the real reason you celebrate the season. Thank you all for such an extraordinary year. God bless each and every one of you. xx Shay
