I am wrapping up our Spring Break posts today with the final two days at Aulani.
But first…
IT’S PODCAST TUESDAY!
Erika and I have a brand new episode of The Bestie Breakdown today where we break down…POTTY TRAINING.
Oh geez.
Trust me, you’re going to laugh.
And probably relate.
You can listen to day HERE or on your favorite podcast platform (Spotify, Apple, etc.).
Now, back to Aulani…if you missed PART ONE, make sure you go back and check that one out too because I share the details about our flight over and our resort accommodations. In PART TWO, I shared days 2 and 3 of our trip where we enjoyed the beautiful beach, pool and amenities at the Aulani resort. In PART THREE, I shared our dolphin encounter adventure, so make sure you catch that one too! In PART FOUR, I shared more beachside fun from our new favorite resort and now today…I am sharing A Day in the Life 🙂 .
You might have caught this on Stories, but one day, I just documented a full “day in the life” of all the fun at Aulani.
I’ve decided just to post the pics here and let them do most of the talking…
Good morning!
A morning stroll with my baby to grab breakfast.
On this day, we grabbed coffees and breakfast wraps/pastries/muffins from this cute little spot.
There is a quick service cafe right next to it that provides hot or cold food options all day too. From made to order meals to quick grab foods, it’s a great place for snacks, drinks and complete meals.
Look who we saw as we were heading back with breakfast!
I love an Amazon coverup
Oh hey there, Moana!
You can snorkel with the rainbow fish right there at Aulani!
Another great Amazon find!
And dinner at Mina’s wrapped up our day 🙂 !
Now, for our final day, I took about six pics…
…we saw Donald on our way to…
…our character breakfast at the resort!
It’s so fun when the gang’s all here at Aulani!
Last pic.
My heart is so full looking back at these photos. Aulani was one of our VERY BEST VACATIONS. We loved every single minute of it. I try so hard not to take any of my family time for granted. These years here raising our kids will go down as the very best for me. I am so thankful for this family of mine. We truly had the very best trip to Hawaii!
Next up…another adventure awaits us this summer 🙂 . If you want help planning your family’s summer vacation, let us know! We would love to help you with your next vacation too here at Mix and Match Travel Agency. If you’re interested in traveling to Hawaii, a cruise, an international destination or Walt Disney World, we would love to help. Unfortunately, we do not offer our services to places like New York City, Yellowstone, Nantucket, etc.
Family and traveling are my two favorite things!! Thank you for letting me share! I’ll see you all back here tomorrow! xx

That picture of Ashby jumping into the pool! SO MUCH JOY!!!!! Love it!
Liz says
Shay! Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
How do your kids do on that long flight? I have a 6 and 7 year old but I don’t know how they would handle such a long flight to Hawaii!!! We just got back from Disneyland and the 3 1/2 hour plane ride was long even for me!
Mix and Match Mama says
My kids have flown enough (and far away!) that this flight wasn’t hard for them at all. I do think it takes practice, so the more your kiddos practice, the easier it becomes!
Maggie Brown says
Love all these pictures! Are food prices at Aulani comparable with pricing at Disney parks?
Mix and Match Mama says
Very similar!
Ani Martinez says
Its a shame y’all didn’t have any fun at Aulani 😉
Those grinning faces are worth a million buck! Thanks for sharing.
Rachel Kazmier says
Our big summer trip is Europe for 3 weeks! Ireland, Scotland, Paris, and Portugal!
Laura says
I’ve GOT to catch up on the last 2 podcasts! We have a 1st birthday to celebrate this month and we have another who really needs to potty train!
Melanie M says
All 4 of your kids are beautiful!
MelanieL says
I just love all the pics from these days, thank you for sharing so much about Aulani! As my kids get older(17 & 16), I cherish every moment spent on vacation with them, I truly hope we can vacation together for many years to come!
Sarah M. says
What are all of the different bracelets for? I see each kid has several.
Mix and Match Mama says
Every day, you get a new bracelet to be on the Aulani property (it shows them that you’re a guest there). There’s a different color each day, and my girls collected them like bracelets. I’m pretty sure they all had them on at least a week after we returned home. 😉
Jamie says
I love Aulani and I’m ready to go back! Also, that action shot of Ashby jumping in the pool is perfection!:)
Alison says
I just love looking at all your pictures to Aulani! It really makes me want to book this as our next vacation!
Kim N says
Love these pics – looks magical! What is K eating in the one photo – ice cream or shaved ice or something shaped like Mickey? It looks delicious!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s shaved ice topped with sweetened condensed milk 😉
Kara says
This podcast episode made me laugh bc I thought FOR sure my first son would be in diapers in college and sleeping in my bed still.. sigh. We started potty training way to early and he finally told us that when he turned 4, he would be potty trained.. the day he turned 4.. 8 now and never had an accident since. ??? 2nd son-so easy and We are just starting my daughter who is 3, and it’s been so easy bc she is ready! All first time mamas-be patient.. they won’t wear diapers in college ??
Erin H says
Listening to your podcast bc it is MY LIFE right now. I really wish there was a service that I could hire this out because it’s my least favorite thing. I think I’d take the newborn days back over this (well, maybe. ha.). I have a 3 yr old that oddly will #2 on the potty every time but will not regularly do #1. And the 3-day method was a bust b/c if you ask her more than 3 times in an hour she will tell you no and she’s never doing it again. Gah. So maybe by the time she’s 10 she’ll be there. haha
Debbie says
LOVE these photos! Such joy and fun! The pic of Ashby jumping into the pool…..so amazing!
Claire says
Looks beautiful! Sign me up to be your full time photographer for your vacations so I can snap some with you in it bahahaha! #momlifestruggles I would actually love that job. ? No Hawaii expert here and wondering what islands you’ve traveled to and your favorites? Is the Disney resort your favorite one for families? Thank you so much and take me up on that “snapping pictures” role ??
Andrea says
We leave for England on Friday, and I cannot tell you how much it would bless my enneagram 2 heart for you to verify in print that there is no way I can spend 2 weeks there, immediately followed by two days at Disneyland with just a carry on. Sigh….there are some LIGHT packers in my life, and I desperately need reinforcements! ?
Cris says
These are your best pics yet! So sweet!
Kate says
For those going through potty training I remember my pediatrician told me the average age for boys to be fully potty trained in 3 years, 8 months. I promise they get it! It’s totally developmental. I did not rush my boys and once they were ready it was pretty easy! Hang in there mamas!
Kelly says
These pictures are fabulous! Memory makers for sure;). As to potty training, I’m a mom of six adults and have to say that potty training AND newly driving teenagers are my two least favorite parenting stages. That said, they all get there eventually :).
Alisha says
This is random, but what kind of case/protection do you use on your phone in water for these amazing pictures?? I’ve got FOMO of this vacation LOL!
Mix and Match Mama says
You know the newer iPhones can get wet. I’m not saying we should swim with them, but they can get splashed now. (Mine isn’t even the newest version…I think mine is an 11 or 12?).
Lauren says
Well you’ve officially convinced me!! Hoping to book our trip there later this year!
