Friends, today I’m sharing What’s Up Wednesday from GERMANY!
Eeeeeeeeeks!
On Monday night, Erika, Tab, Andrew and I all flew to Munich for a few days, and we’re already having the BEST time! I will be here all week (and next week!) blogging, so make sure you keep coming back, but also make sure you’re checking out the fun on @mixandmatchmama on Facebook and Instagram too. We’ll be sharing our adventure along the way. We are SO EXCITED!!
In the meantime, as always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Here we go…
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
German food…my very, very favorite kind of food 🙂 .
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
It’s crazy to think that it’s been three years since the four of us were in Europe together! COVID certainly thwarted our plans several times, so we are extremely grateful to be back there together right now!
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
I started watching this on Prime, and it’s SO adorable!!!! It’s like The Office but set in a school. It’s so funny and super clever!
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
I just bounced from Walt Disney World to Germany, so I feel like I’ve been up to my ears in laundry…
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
Right now, I am not dreading a single thing…except how these German temps are going to make me feel all “fall” inside, and then, I’m going to land at DFW and remember that I live in a place that likes to keep things hot until November. Sigh.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
We’re baaaaaack! The Bestie Breakdown launches SEASON 3 on Tuesday!!!
You guys, we are so excited about this season!!
Make sure you tune in each week to hear us break down all new topics!
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Being here.
Right now.
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
I’m doing something different this month. Instead of my normal SEPTEMBER BOOK REVIEW, I am going to wait and post one epic book review for both September and October at the end of October. I just finished my fourth book for the month, so they will be added with my October reads and reviewed in one post. If you have any new book suggestions for me though in the meantime, drop them in the comment section! I would love some new recs!
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Awwwww! The sounds of a quiet hotel.
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
Here’s a little look at what I’ve been wearing lately…
Vuori is always a good idea 🙂 . My leggings and cozy sherpa jacket are both from Vuori.
Speaking of good ideas, this sweatshirt and these leggings are also a great idea 🙂 .
And just a reminder about these three Loft tops…
BUTTON TOP//STRIPED SWEATER//SWEATER//BOOTIES
…I love them all 🙂 .
I bought THIS SWEATER first in black with a crew neck and loved it so much that I bought it again in B-khaki in this v-neck. The quality is so fabulous especially considering the price AND that it’s an Amazon find.
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
I feel like it’s just redundant now to talk about how giddy I am. 🙂
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
So, I’m off to enjoy beautiful Munich, Germany! Don’t forget, I will be here all week though, so make sure you come on back. In the meantime, if you blogged WUW with us too, make sure you link up below.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, friends!!! xx

Such fun!!!!! We celebrated my husband’s 45th birthday with a trip to Germany – LOVED driving through the country, especially the Bavarian region.
Have a wonderful time!

Love all your fashion choices. Would you please list who makes each clothing item in your blog? My computer has on safe search which blocks all links so i can’t look up any of your choices. Many thanks.

“Dear William”
I couldn’t put this book down. It’s a wonderfully written memoir and gave us good clues to look for with my children as they get to the age where addiction could creep into their lives

I thought “the foundling” by Ann Leary was such an interesting read. Always look forward to your book reviews.
Tabitha says
If you want an easy read, I suggest The Happiness List by Annie Lyons. I just listened to it on Audible and I LOVED it. It was a feel good book.

I believe I heard a collective groan across the states as we are discovering we have to wait… patiently… for September’s book review. Hope you are reading some good ones, my recent ones have been so so.
Recent Reads:
The Country Guesthouse by Robyn Carr / I enjoyed this one and then found out it was book 5 in a series 🙂
On Ocean Boulevard by Mary Alice Monroe / not my favorite and it was book 6 in a series I guess that happens when you roam the library
Water from my Heart by Charles Martin / top five for the year
The things we cannot say by Kelly Rimmer / top five for the year

Alright Shay spill the secret…who handles the kids while you are away? I’m tired just thinking about all the work you must have to do before your trip even begins. You have to coordinate school, homework, after school activities, dinner, packing of lunches for 4 kids. I only have 2 kids and all that coordinating makes going away feel like it just isn’t worth it or am i just lazy? Lol How do you do it?
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww! My amazing in-laws are there 🙂 . We have it down to a science now. They’re so helpful and the kids always have so much fun being spoiled by them. The older the kids get, the easier it gets. It’s also so much easier now that they’re all in school too.

What a true blessing you have family to help! Enjoy your trip

My parents are both from Germany and it always makes me so happy that you say nice things about Germany and German food—it is so wonderful, but so many people that I have met tell me they think it’s horrible. 💗
