You guys, IT’S NOVEMBER 1ST!!!!!!
I know, I know, I know, I basically get excited on the first day of every month.
Isn’t that why you’re here though?
Who wants to show up each day to read a blog written by someone who isn’t absolutely trying her hardest to make every single day an occasion to celebrate? I think you’re all here because like me, you want to celebrate today too (and the other 364).
Now, you know what I’m doing today, I’M DECORATING MY HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS!
I have zero shame.
Andrew and I love decorating early and enjoying the house, the music and all the Christmas things for as long as possible, so we start today.
You know I can 🙂 .
I’m busy, busy putting my trees up and getting my house all comfy and cozy, so while I do that, I’ve brought back (by popular demand!) the start of MY HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES!!!
Last year, I had so many of you tell me that you LOVED my gift guides which made me SO HAPPY! I have all new guides this year for every person on your list. I’m going to start sprinkling them in now so that by December 1st, you have them all. This year, I even made a GIFT GUIDE PAGE where you will be able to see all of them. I will add them to this page as I add them to my blog.
I’m kicking off the season today with EIGHT GIFT GUIDES FROM AGES BIRTH TO TEENS. Of course, you do not have to shop these lists based on the titles I’ve given them. I’ve created each one with certain ages/genders/people in mind to keep things organized in my head, but let’s be real, you do you and view it how you want. I’m just trying to keep things from being too crazy chaotic in my little world. This is just a start, as you know from last year, I’ll get more specific (teachers, pets, babysitters, etc) and use a variety of retailers as the season progresses.
Now, where is The Bestie Breakdown today? We took the week off to spend the extra time with our families as we made the most of our time before Halloween. We’ll be back next week with a brand new episode, but today, if you need a little Besties in your life, you can catch our other almost 50 episodes HERE!
Okay, I’m off to decorate, listen to Christmas music and be merry. I hope this first batch of gift guides helps kick off your holiday season too!
Merry November 1st, friends!! I’ll see you tomorrow! xx
Wishing you a wonderful start to your month!
See you tomorrow! xx

How do you come up with your guides for the littlest ones?? The reason I ask is because they are SPOT on! Thanks

I have some amazing Mix and Match Travel team members with little kiddos who help me! We have babies over here from birth through college.

The most difficult part is trying to figure out what to give people who already have. soooo….much!! Do you think it is tacky to make a charitable donation in someones name? I am thinking something personalized……like a donation to the animal rescue for a major dog lover….in a note in a gift back with a dog present (for their dog)….Or the fund that helps kids without resources for after school sports, dance, etc for my little niece and nephew who have resources? Trying to strike a balance with the joy of Christmas and generosity, sharing, and avoiding filling space with things people really don’t need and probably don’t want!
Mix and Match Mama says
My kids have received gifts of helping animals (like the elephants in Africa or the wolves in Canada) and they thought that was really cool.
Sam says
I wonder if you have thought of combining the “boys” and “girls” lists to just “kids”? People have varied interests and it’s not always based on gender. Gift givers can figure out what their kids would be interested in from the full list without too much difficulty from one list.
Mix and Match Mama says
I have, but I thought the list would be too overwhelming and long. I think you look at both lists as suggestions, but, of course, they’re versatile for all genders and ages.

I can’t believe it’s already this time of year! It’s my favorite, but it also really snuck up on me this year. 🙂

Your gift guides are so helpful for grandparents too! Thank you! 🎁
Keisha Dawson says
Thank you so much for these! I have two birthday parties this weekend, and you just made my gift buying so easy for the little girls that I had no idea what to buy for!
Kristin Lyngaas says
My boys are 19 and 20 but your ideas are spot on 😊❤️💚 there’s a few in the teen section I know they would love still! Happy decorating day!
Renee says
Thank you so much for the gift guides. As a grandmother, I wouldn’t even know where to start without them!
Denise Panetta says
Great ideas! Will be referring back to this for all my nieces and nephews!
Andrea says
I’m decorating for Christmas today too and could not be happier about it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Enjoy!!!

Have you heard Dolly Parton and Jimmy Gallon’s new song, “It’s Almost Too Early For Christmas?!”
It’s so good!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m looking it up!!
Julie Harris says
This is GREAT!!! I just checked off 5 gifts. Thanks Shay!

Honest question and not meant to be mean or anything but do you decorate for Christmas without your kids helping or being home? 🤔 My kids would be so sad to miss out on the fun plus I like having their help with it all too. 😉
Mix and Match Mama says
Great question! My kids love putting up their own little trees in their rooms, so I saved that for them, but they’re not bummed about missing the other stuff. When I was little, my mom always decorated during the school day and I was excited to see it when I got home…I think that’s them too.
Laci Murray says
Love the ideas for my teen girl!
Nadine says
Thank you for these lists; they’re great! I put several of your suggestions into my Amazon cart!! Was surprised to not see the heated eyelash curler on your teen girl list. On your recommendation, I bought one for myself. Now buying Christmas gifts and wondering if you’ve tried any of the rechargeable versions??
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s a great idea! K doesn’t have one, but I should get her one for this year too! I’ve only tried the version I’ve shared and love it. I use it every single day.
Jodi says
Can you personally speak for the teen boy’s electric shaver? Is it easy for a new kid learning to shave?
Mix and Match Mama says
Smith doesn’t have it (yet) but the reviews are really solid.

What is going to be the “it” toys for girls and boys this year? What are the most desired or wanted presents for kids…about ages 6–12 or thereabouts?
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh gosh, I don’t know that I know, but maybe another blog reader will tell us!
Amy says
Well I just bought 4 gifts. Can’t wait for you to tell me what to get for the rest of my people 🙂
Carolyn says
What is the title of your Christmas devotional?
Thank you!

Really love the guides for the older kids, my step-kids are super hard to buy for. I’ll be referring back to these guides, thanks so much!
Jessica Carnevale says
Thank you so much for posting this today as I needed to start my gift registry for Christmas as my family is fostering 3 little girls. Because of these lists and your other gift guides and stocking stuffers I was motivated to put together the Amazon registry and have already received so many blessings. Thank you again!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, God bless YOU! Wow! What a beautiful thing you’re doing.
Brooke Fisher says
These are really great guides. I have 4 kids who fit into 3 of your categories! Thank you kindly!
