Merry Christmas from the Shulls!


And that’s a wrap on 2022!

Friends, I get choked up every single year when I start writing this post.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

I do not take lightly that, fifteen years later, you still stop by here every day and spend a few minutes with me.  Your time is valuable.  There are so many things vying for your attention on the internet and social media.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude that you take time to visit this space and my family.  Over these last 12 months, I’ve read your emails, your DMs and blog comments, and I know you’re praying for my family, you’re loving on my family, thinking about us, celebrating with us and supporting us.  From the very bottom of my heart, thank you.

I’m so proud of many things this year, but one of them is, of course, that this community came together and raised $70,928 for St. Jude!  That is absolutely incredible! I’m also super proud that so many of you joined me in The Bible Recap!  These last few weeks, the founder of TBR has been talking about how we should be including more people from other countries and other areas to join her in 2023, and you know what?  She’s right!  Even though I’m just about to wrap up the year, I’ve decided to embark on the journey again in 2023, but this time, I pray so many of you join with me!  More details to come, but if you’re interested, head HERE to see more about why I love it and get all the information.

In the meantime, I’m taking off to spend these next two and a half weeks with my family.  I will be back here in blog world for another fun year of adventures on Ashby’s 8th Gotcha Day on January 4th!  I am so excited about 2023!  I cannot wait to share it with you.

You all know that I love Christmas.  I love the music, the movies, the twinkle lights, the food…I love it all.  However, I love more than anything that it’s the celebration of the birth of Jesus.  You guys, one day at my funeral, I hope they say, she really freaking loved being a mom, and she built her life around the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.  If you don’t know Jesus.  If you are confused on why He is everything to me, please send me an email.  If you need a Bible, send me an email.  If you have a prayer request, send me an email.  I love to chat about clothes, food, adoption, travels and life, but Jesus is the reason we celebrate this season and I want you to have a personal relationship with him too.

        Merry Christmas to the Shulls and this community. I will be praying for those who love the season and for those that the season may be tough on them for one reason or another and for those who celebrate birthdays around this time who sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I am going to admit I am a bit of all of that. This year will be tough a year ago Xmas Eve my Dad began a 7 week fight with covid (he ended up being set free in Heaven). So this will be our first Christmas without him and he LOVED Christmas. This will be my first birthday without him here, for my birthday is just before Christmas. This will be a time of joy because we are lucky to have the love and support of family and friends here and we get to celebrate other friends and family’s bdays during this season. We will let the “magic” of Christmas wash over us!!! I pray those having a tough time know you are being thought about and prayed for this season! See you in 2023!!!

      Tara-Leigh Cobble (who started it) has been emphasizing this month that she would love to see TBR grow outside of just the US and that we should invite our friends abroad to join in for 2023…thanks to this little community, I have so many friends abroad! I would love to have anyone and everyone join us in 2023!
