It’s PART TWO of our trip to Park City this winter!
If you missed PART ONE, make sure you go back and check that out especially if you’re looking for info on snowshoeing.
Here we dive into the second half of our annual trip to one of our very favorite towns…
…I know I wrote this in the first post, but there was more snow on this trip than we’ve ever seen before! TONS of snow and weather that wasn’t too cold made for the perfect conditions for our family. I love my boarder boy so much! We were dropping off the little girls at ski school together. He’s taller than me now. He’s growing like a weed!
These two. You guys…
…I know I mentioned this in my TOP 10 TIPS FROM A SKI MOM post, but look at her jacket…
…and then look at it here. Ugh. My heart. He’s going to be THIRTEEN TOMORROW! Geez, it’s going by too quickly.
I went snowshoeing again, and then this girl came down the town lift after lunch…
…to spend her afternoon reading 🙂 .
After the other four finished up their day on the mountain…
…we Apres-ed together and watched football at No Name Saloon.
After that, we all cleaned up…
…and headed to Ruth’s Chris for our New Year’s Eve dinner.
After a delicious dinner, we got cozy and watched the ball drop on TV!
The next day, we rang in 2023…
…with more snow!
I just love her smile here.
We decided to make this day our day not to ski. We slept in, had lunch, walked Main Street and played in the snow.
We had dinner that night at Riverhorse…another one of my faves in Park City.
The next day…
…was our last full day in Park City. I walked with these three to the town lift as they wanted to spend their day skiing/boarding…
…and then the three of us wanted to spend our day just being a bit lazy. We had lunch together at Collie’s while…
…they enjoyed lunch on the mountain 🙂 .
We all met up though that afternoon…
…for more ice skating!
I couldn’t love these people more.
Our final dinner was at a new (to us) restaurant in Deer Valley called Goldener Hirsch.
You guys, it is a German restaurant. Insert ALL THE PRAISE HANDS HERE. It was delicious!!!!
The next morning…
…back to the airport we went 🙂 .
And that was our trip to Park City!
Now, just in case you were one of the ones asking specifics about my favorite cozy finds, here you go…
#1: PUFFER COAT: I cannot stress enough how warm this coat is. I bought this when our suitcase didn’t arrive and am SO HAPPY that I did! I don’t know that I’ve loved a purchase this much in a long time. It’s so comfy, cute and warm. I bought it in a size 2.
#2: SOREL BOOTS: I wore them every single day…until Kensington started stealing them and wearing them too. Ha! They’re so comfy and also kept my feet warm and dry. I wore them when I went snowshoeing too! They run TTS and also come in brown. I love them!
#3: SPANX LEGGINGS: There is no better legging than the faux-leather Spanx legging. Period. End of story. They come in so many different sizes (including petite and plus). They are the comfiest, hold up the best, can be dressed up or down. I love them. I do recommend sizing up one size. I buy mine in a small as I find the xs a bit too snug.
#4: QUARTER ZIP FLEECE: I wore this every day under my coat when I went snowshoeing. It’s so soft, it’s thin but warm (not bulky), and I love the length because it’s not short…it’s a bit longer. Right now, it’s on sale!
#5: FLEECE LEGGINGS: I have raved about these leggings now for over a year. These are AMAZING! I wore them every single day and even bought pairs for my little girls to wear every day too. We all wore these under our ski pants to keep warm, but then wore them as pants walking around town too. I bought a second pair this year because I wore mine so much.
#6: THE NORTH FACE COAT: My go-to heavy duty coat for cold weather. It comes in many different colors, but I bought black. I love the length and deep pockets. I love how warm it keeps me the most though 🙂 .
#7: UGG SLIPPERS: You know how much I love my slippers. I love them so much that they travel with me too. Unless I’m walking out the door to go somewhere or getting into my bed, I have these on my feet.
#8: UGG CLASSIC BOOTS: I hadn’t purchased a “normal” pair of Uggs in about six years, but this year, I bought myself a pair of Ugg Mini II boots and wear them out so much that I just keep them by the backdoor. They’re perfect for running errands, walking kids to school, walking my dogs, pairing with leggings or jeans…I basically go from my indoor slippers to my outdoor slippers 🙂 .
Alrighty, don’t forget, if you missed PART ONE of our Park City recap from this year, head back to that post and read it. If you’re looking for other posts here’s a little sampling below:
And just for fun, the beauty of blogging over 15 years is that I have a lot of content to draw from and reminisce about. Want to see what we were up to 13 years ago today?! Make sure you check that our HERE 🙂 .
It’s a whole lot of sweetness and excitement.
Have a great Tuesday! I’ll see you all back here tomorrow! xx

What a great vacation. I can’t believe all of that snow!!! Love it!

Hi Shay! I have an unrelated question . In your taco chili recipe you say to use a small can of tomato sauce. Is that 8 or 15 oz? I haven’t made this in awhile but have requests for this evening and can’t remember but it’s a huge family favorite .
Love the pictures of your skiing trip. Your entire family have the sweetest and most genuine smiles .
Mix and Match Mama says
That would be 8oz. It’s always so good to hear from you, Marla!
Marla says
Thank you! It was delicious! You are always so good about responding which I really appreciate .
Again, on an unrelated note I wanted to thank you for all the help with my son’s honeymoon. Claire did an amazing job. They really enjoyed working with her and the trip was everything they had hoped for and more .
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh Marla! I’m SO happy we could help them!!!!
Lindsey Pannell says
Do you recommend a place to stay there?
Mix and Match Mama says
We always stay in the same place, so I don’t give all the deets, but for us, the key is to be close to Main Street so that you don’t necessarily have to have a car since so many things (even the town lift for experience skiers) is right there.
Tish says
Do you use lotion or oil on your Spanx leggings? Love the throwback to expecting sweet Smith’s arrival!
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t use anything on them…
Kay says
Love this post! Question – I love Mades brown lace up boots in the last picture w/pink front soles. Where did you get them / what brand are they? Thanks!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought them at the beginning of the fall from Nordstrom.
Mary T Straus says
Shay,
Hi, My sister and brother in law have a second home in Park City and we have yet to visit. Baha.. I guess my husband I better get on the band wagon and go visit after reading your post. Anyways, yes I am extremely observant and did you get another airfryer?? I am searching for another one as my philips I am not crazy about. The Would you share either the model or where you purchased it for me. I found one on Amazon that is the chefman 4 in 1 6.3 qt. Was just wondering if this was your model.
Thanks,
Mary
Mix and Match Mama says
You need to go! It’s BEAUTFIUL!!! And nope, I still have the original one. I blogged about both of mine here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2020/07/airfryer-review-part-2/

We love the Goldner!! Did you know that Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie was filmed there?!! Mash up of your favorite things!
K.K. says
Kensington and Smith both look so much like adults!! Wow! 🙂
Love the pictures and the post.
Quick question (for Shay – or anyone who might have resources): I’m always curious about GF eating and traveling. Did you find a German food restaurant that had GF options there? That’s been a hard one!
And better question: how do you do your GF restaurant research – call before you go, an app you trust, etc.?
Dating someone with Celiac, and always trying to pick up best practices for dinner out somewhere, though he’s pretty good at just talking to restaurant chefs when he gets places. (I’m more of a planner!)
Mix and Match Mama says
We look at the menus before we make reservations and then ask questions when making reservations. On this night, K had a steak and salad. They had other gf options too, but that’s what she picked!
K.K. says
Thanks, Shay!!
I saw someone recently remind me of the GF FB page that you created awhile back in comments, and I think I’ll join that community since I’m finding myself living that GF lifestyle and hosting a GF kitchen pretty exclusively.
Kerry says
Random ? from yesterday’s post – do you use a different wallpaper app on your iphone than comes standard? The fonts etc look different than my phone.
Mix and Match Mama says
Have you done your latest iPhone update? Mine changed when I did my last update.
Kerry says
Oh! Didn’t realize there was an update I’d missed – fun! TY!
Sarah M. says
Re the Spanx leggings. I have a pair of the black camo ones and I find them so cold to wear in winter. They are so thin and the fabri gets cold so it makes me cold. Are the faux leather ones thicker or lined in some way, or do you just feel warm enough with tall boots and a long coat?
I loved reading about your ski vacation. We have our trip booked for March in Quebec.
Sarah M. (in Toronto)
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve never worn the camo ones, so I’m not sure? They are not lined, but with a coat and boots, they’re plenty warm for trips like this. Have fun in Quebec!

All the pictures are great! Love all the snow.
I grew up in the U.P. of Mich. And we had Pine Mt. About 7 miles from my house, so I did all those activities. Went to college at Northern
Mich. Univ. When we had that much snow we had Greek week where all the fraternities would have a competition making ice sculptures.
So excited about your Nantucket house. We had one in Spread Eagle ,Wis. Everyone will love it. We had neighbors from Chicago,Milwaukee and all over. We would spend the whole summer out there. My Father’s office was only 8 miles from there.
It’s a whole different atmosphere when you live there and you meet people from all over. There are 13 lakes. 11 of the lakes are connected by channels. You can take yor boats all thru.
They have a place on water you can gas up your boats etc. We would meet people from all the other lakes and invite to have lunch or dinner with you. It’s on the border of Wis. And Mich..

Love the throw back pictures. What a little cutie pie. And can you believe how much your life changed with the addition of one and now you have four! How blessed you are and they are to be part of your loving family!
Mix and Match Mama says
If you would have told me then…I never would have believed it. I love how God knows what we need before we do.
Kristy says
It is not lost on me that you casually mentioned having lost luggage and needing to get necessities without a complaint. It’s like a big deal that you barely mention! I’m also curious if y’all don’t take a carry on with the necessities just in case?! Y’all travel so much, it seems like something you would do.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh I complained a ton to my family. Ha! We all did! I just know so many people never found their luggage/had it lost for days/flights were cancelled/things were WAY worse, so I don’t want to get on here and whine about it. Traveling goes smoothly most of the time…but sometimes, it does not. I try to really roll with it and make the most of it…but my Enneagram 8 self, of course, says what’s on her mind, so my family knew 😉 . My carry on bag had all of my makeup, my chargers, macbook, Bible and Bible Recap book…so I had some things. My kids pack their own carry on items…so they showed up with iPads and candy. Sigh.
Andrea says
How long do the Spanx faux leather leggings last? I’ve been hesitant to buy them because I’ve seen some reviews that say they lose their luster very quickly.
Mix and Match Mama says
I have four pairs now…and I literally cannot tell which ones I bought five years ago and which ones I bought this year. They wear and hold up so well. Why do I have four? Because I love them so much and never want to wait for my silly self to wash them before putting on a fresh pair.
Sam says
Hey Shay! Can you link your Patagonia hat? So cute!
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, it’s an oldie but a goodie. I looked online and don’t see it any longer.
Alana Powers says
I can’t wait for the Sorel boots to come back in my size! Great recap.
Melissa says
How about the silver jacket you had on tubing? What size and brand?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s from Shopbop but I don’t think they have it any longer.
