Friends, it’s GOOD FRIDAY!
I never get tired of this post. Year after year, as long as I have this platform, I will shout with all of my might that Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life, and not only does He love me, but HE LOVES YOU TOO.
As much as I love talking about Amazon, and pumpkins and coffee, travels, adoption, Christmas music, clothes, organization, TV shows, books and all of the other fun and happy things I bring here each day, talking about Jesus and that He loves us so much that He died and rose again to save the world from its sin will forever be my favorite topic.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about or don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus or don’t get why I’m always so filled with an unexplainable joy, let me point you to the cross. Jesus died on that cross for me and for you and He wants to know you. He doesn’t want to judge your mistakes or your past or your lifestyle, He wants you to know Him and have a relationship with Him.
I invite you to email me if you want to chat, if you would like me to send you a Bible or if you would like to just share your heart. Please, please, please send me an email to mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com.
If you want to start reading through the Bible, don’t forget, I love The Bible Recap and would love for you to use that amazing resource. I have more info on that and how you can read with me and other online friends HERE.
If you don’t have a church to visit this weekend, I invite you to watch our church online this Sunday. We would love to have you join!! You can watch HERE.
This world is a scary and dark place at times, and if you are looking for peace and hope, I would love to encourage you to turn to Jesus. My prayer this morning is that one of you out there who feels crazy lost right now, will stop and pray and ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you in a personal and specific way.
I love you all so much! I hope you have a blessed Easter! HE LIVES! You guys, HE LIVES!
Bev says
Thank you, Shay, for pointing others to Christ. You are so right, there are so many things to both enjoy and fear but Jesus is the difference maker for us all! IT. IS. FINISHED!
p.s. Highly recommend His Only Son if you haven’t seen it!

I’d love to hear why you changed churches. I know how difficult finding a church can be!
Elisabeth says
Thanks for using your platform to share the Good (Best!) News, Shay.
I love C.S. Lewis and for the last two years have included the following quote on my Good Friday blog post: Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.
My prayer is that people see and recognize the infinite importance of their answer to Jesus’ call on their life. In a world that is so dark and scary and chaotic, all our hope is in Jesus. And how amazing that He is RISEN!!
NancyK says
Amen. Beautiful Post! God Bless you Shay.
Happy Easter to you and your family.
Sheaffer says
Happy Easter, friend!
K.K. says
Hallelujah!! He is risen. Have a happy Easter, Shay!

It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming. He has risen, He has risen indeed.
It’s been so long that I don’t actually remember how I found you online. It was before Ashby and Madeley, Sean and the bachelor… maybe a recipe or a book review? About seven years ago, we added a foster child to our home and to streamline my day I had to make decisions about where to spend my time online. You and Sheaffer made the cut and about 8 other blogs were deleted. I’m not too influenced to buy the products you use (I don’t mean that mean spirited, our coloring is different and what works for you and your home doesn’t translate to me and my home, Sheaffer loves pink and ruffles and I don’t do pink or ruffles) BUT why I return time and time again is for how I feel when I finish reading your post for the day. The fact that you have a platform to influence for Christ, that you are uplifting and positive and have fantastic taste in books encourages me to return daily for encouragement. Not only from you but from the readers comments. I’ve only started commenting in the past few years but (other than the few weirdly mean people) you have a great community of people here and in light of the darkness all around it is wonderful knowing that there are good people around the world that feel the same. Happy Easter, Shay!
Mix and Match Mama says
And now, I’m emotional. God bless YOU, Sandi for always being a bright spot in my day. Always. xx
Amy Azza says
Happy Easter Shay! The way you live your life with intention, the amount of joy and love you bring to your family and your blog world.. you are exactly who Jesus calls us all to be. Sending you love and peace today.

Happy Easter! Question – did you change churches? I remember that you used to go to a Baptist church.
Mix and Match Mama says
We did change!
Lisa B says
The senior pastor of this church seems to have been totally educated in Baptist seminaries – and Baylor a Baptist college. The trend now is to be “non-denominational” to attract people who have had issues with whatever denomination they are leaving. Not that it matters – everyone needs to find what suits them. But if you dig deep, most of those churches have a staff mainly educated in a particular denomination. The 45 minute sermons – no thanks. Our whole church service is 45-50 minutes.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m fine with any church service that’s longer if it’s engaging/Biblical/encouraging/convicting…I’m not going to ever put a time limit on that experience.
Mary says
He is risen indeed! Thanks for using your platform to share the Love of Christ. Happy Easter to the Shull family!
Lynne says
This is the best post. Thank you for sharing Jesus with others and making it so easy and accessible. He IS the light in our dark world. And you are shining bright for Him in all you do.
Angela Banae says
Amen to the comments Sandi wrote! You are amazing and positive and use your platform to influence others in such a postive way! Shay, you are encouraging sooooo many people here on the internet! You shine so brightly for Jesus, you model how to be a wife and mama who loves her people well, you share all of the best recipes and fashion must-have’s, and you truly encourage me to be a better person. Honestly, I think of you as a dear friend, though we’ve not met yet! Thank you for being you and using the gifts God has given you to shine for Him.
And Easter weekend…oh, I’m so thankful that Jesus loved us so much that He went through all of the pain and suffering so that we can have eternal life. I’ll never get over how much God loves us.
Have a blessed Easter with your family!!
Mix and Match Mama says

Happy Easter, Shay! How thankful I am for our Savior and His amazing sacrifice for us.
Chiming in with other comments above, I would also love to hear more about your journey away from an SBC church and how you chose your current church. If you and Erika ever feel comfortable sharing. I think many people are facing similar changes, especially since the pandemic. ❤️
Annnndddd Good Friday was a little extra special today with a podcast episode! So fun!! I loved listening while I got ready this morning!
