Friends, I’ve been telling you this for years, but since July 4th is just around the corner, I’m going to tell you again…Erika’s mother-in-law makes THE BEST BAKED BEANS.
Once you try this recipe, you will never go back to boring beans.
I have a feeling several of you will be entertaining/hosting/attending a summer supper this weekend to celebrate the Red, White and Blue, and without a doubt, you should bring/make this recipe here. I have never made these beans and not been asked for the recipe. This is a side dish that will be the star of the show 🙂 .
Make them this weekend! You will be so thankful that you did!
Love you, Marla! Thank you for the recipe! xx

The Best Baked Beans
Description
Once you try this recipe, you will never go back to boring beans. I have never made these beans and not been asked for the recipe. This is a side dish that will be the star of the show 🙂 .
Ingredients
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage (we use Owen’s hot sausage), browned and crumbly
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (28 oz) can of baked beans
- 3 tablespoons of honey mustard dressing
- 1 to 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (just keep adding it until you feel like the consistency is good)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 pound of bacon, crisped up and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease (I use Pam) a 9×13 baking dish. Set aside.
- In one large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients together with a wooden spoon. Once combined, pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish and pop in your preheated oven. Bake the beans for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and serve either hot or room temp.

These are so good! Generally baked beans aren’t even my jam, but these are the exception! 😁

I made these for our neighborhood 4th of July cookout and they were a HIT. Everyone is asking for the recipe. I didn’t have honey mustard, so I substituted with Chick-Fil-A sauce and it did not disappoint! Thanks Shay!

Yay!!!! I’m so happy you had them on your Fourth too! We also made them! Thank you for the feedback!
