Happy Sunday, friends!
Here I am blogging on a Sunday. #whatintheworld
There are just too many fun things to blog about and so little time that I thought today, I’d share a bonus post with some pics and details from our time on Nantucket with my parents, grandparents, brother and his sweet family. It was three days of fabulous!
Here’s a recap:
Last Sunday morning all of our peeps arrived on the morning boat from Hyannis. We were SO EXCITED to see everyone!! You guys, I know I keep saying this, but my sweet grandmother had a TERRIBLE year in 2022, so the fact that she is here and healthy and able to travel is nothing short of a miracle. Andrew and I picked up Sean’s rental car for them and met them at the ferry terminal with that car and our car so that everyone had a spot. We piled in and headed straight to our house…
…we were so happy to have them!
Originally my grandparents were going to come stay with us for these three days and then Sean and Catherine were going to come at a later date (because she was going to be out of town), but they decided to change Catherine’s plans and come up too with my parents which meant all of us would be together…and that was extra fantastic! My grandparents stayed at our house and my parents, Sean and Catherine and their family (and it turned out that my girls) stayed in a rental house nearby.
M and M! These two are thick as thieves now 🙂 .
After we unloaded the luggage at our house (because their house wasn’t ready that early in the morning), we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head to…
…Something Natural for lunch!
This was the PERFECT spot for a bunch of excited kiddos!
After lunch, Samuel asked if we could please take him to see the ocean, so…
…off we went to Cisco beach 🙂 .
Next up, the Lowes wanted to stop for provisions for their rental house, so…
…we headed to Bartlett’s Farm and while they shopped, I watched the kiddos on the playground with my family.
After that, the grandparents all stayed with the kiddos at their house while Sean, Catherine, Andrew and I…
…rode scooters to Cisco Brewery! Sean rented a scooter from Young’s Bike Shop for them, so it worked out perfectly!
Yes, please! Live music and oysters at a brewery? Sign us up!
We had such a good time!
When we were done, we headed back, cleaned up…
…and had a delicious dinner at the Sea Grille!
How sweet is this?!
I love her so much!!
Our first day was a HUGE success!
The next morning…
…everyone met up in town for a little shopping before lunch at The Tavern. After lunch, Andrew and Sean took all of the kiddos to Nobadeer beach while the rest of us enjoyed shopping/strolling/hanging out in town.
The two of us thoroughly enjoyed the kid-free time!
You can find my dress HERE 🙂 .
Clearly, we were having a great day!
Later that night, we met up with the boys and the kids…
…at The Lobster Trap where the two of us ended up sitting next to each other. This is what happened when Catherine asked him to give his big sister a kiss…
Ha! After dinner, we all walked to the Juice Bar for ice cream before calling it a night.
The next morning, we met up in town again, and I snapped this pic…
…which made my heart melt.
We enjoyed a little bit of time in town and then headed off first to the far west side of the island…
…for lunch at Millie’s in Madaket.
It was crazy good!
After we saw the west side of the island, we drove over to…
…the far east side of the island for snacks and lookin’ in Sconset 🙂 .
Love this guy.
Love all of these guys.
Later that night, Kensington and Smith babysat all the kiddos while the 8 adults enjoyed a lovely dinner at Brant Point Grill. We were certainly sad to see them all go the next morning but so thankful we had the time all together on Nantucket.
That’s a wrap on this Sunday! I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful day. I will be back again tomorrow, so I’ll see you then 🙂 !

What a special time! Were you all able to revisit any of the places you used to go as children with your parents? When we go to our second home in Florida, my adult kids always insist on revisiting their old favorites. It just is special introducing their kids to their own beloved memories.

For sure, starting with Something Natural 🙂 .

Has your sweet grandmother remarried? I thought I had read in your previous posts, that your only remaining grandparent alive, was your grandmother?
Mix and Match Mama says
She did! My grandpa died in 1999 and she remarried in 2001.

What a beautiful family time together.
Question – we have a summer home
In a popular summer spot and host many guests but I love eating at home vs eating out. I have no problem preparing the meals ( with little help) and some nominal clean up assistance.. but i
Know some rather go out to eat..
Do you ask your guests if they have a preference, so they select restaurants etc. any light to shed on this situation ?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think my peeps come here specifically for all the “vacation” things including favorite ice cream stops, restaurants, etc. I think that’s a big draw for them.
Tara says
Will @mixandmatchtravel be planning trips here??
Mix and Match Mama says
No, I don’t see us adding this as one of our destinations…which makes it nice for me. I can come and enjoy without having to constantly think about #allthethings I think about when traveling to one of our destinations.
Emily Taylor says
Looks like so much fun. Loving the Nantucket posts…keep them coming! Do you have a link for your mom’s yellow shirt? Super cute!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you! I don’t but my guess would be Nordstrom.
Karen M Koeller says
Can I ask where your jewelry is from in these pictures? Love your blog and seeing the new house photos.
Mix and Match Mama says
A whole wide variety of places. If there is a piece in particular, let me know, and I’ll try and find the source for you!
Liz Thorson says
What a delightful time you all had being together! I, too, love your posts from the island!
Kellie Stauffer says
Hi Shay, do you know where Catherine’s white dress is from?
Mix and Match Mama says
I do! It’s Hillhouse!
