Hey, hey Thursday!
We had three full days in the Czech Republic last week and wanted to maximize each one of them. If you missed PART ONE in Prague on Tuesday, make sure you check that out as well.
On our second full day, we got up…
…I did my Bible Recap, some work, had my coffee and then…
…it was time to get dressed…
…and hop in our rental car for our drive to Český Krumlov!
You guys, in all seriousness, I think this might have been the most beautiful town I’ve ever been to in my life. It was absolutely stunning, and I did not want to leave.
The drive to Český Krumlov took about two hours, but no worries…I had coffee, I had my CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST, and I had the MOST GORGEOUS foliage. I was in my own personal version of heaven. I didn’t edit any of the pics in this post…the drive to Český Krumlov and the town itself is just THAT gorgeous.
Heading out of Prague that morning…
…we passed the famous “Dancing House” building on the way.
Please excuse me as I share a lot of pics with you of foliage. I am who I am. No one is surprised by this…
…the entire drive was dotted with the most charming villages and landscape. Czech Republic, you are BEAUTIFUL!
Two hours later, we arrived in Český Krumlov…
The entire town is surrounded by a river that winds around it. Give me a river town with leaves any day of the week.
Every shop, cafe and restaurant was just so charming. It was like walking around in a town Walt Disney himself created. It was so adorable that it looked fake.
We stopped here for lunch by the river. My favorite part? When we started to open the door to the restaurant, all you could hear was a ton of laughter. When we opened the door, there was a table of police officers having lunch (maybe 12 of them?) all laughing and having the best time. It was just heart warming and adorable and Walt Disney himself couldn’t have made it cuter. (I’m telling you, it was better than Epcot 😉 ).
As soon as I was done, I told Andrew that I could have had another one. It was that delicious.
After lunch…
…we visited the St. Vitus Church…
…and then continued on…
We, of course, stopped…
…and had one with Nutella this time 🙂 .
We ended our time at Český Krumlov by walking allll the way up…
…to the top of the castle tower and the views. THE VIEWS!
It was absolutely stunning. We’ve already said that next time we visit the Czech Republic, we are spending at least one or two nights in this town. I am SO happy we drove the two hours each way and visited though this time. This was my FAVORITE day of the trip…which is saying something because I loved all three days.
When we returned back, we cleaned up and headed out to…
Sa Sa Zu for dinner!
It was super festive and very delish.
Don’t forget, if you missed PART ONE, catch that too!

Beautiful!! I can see why it was tough to narrow down the pics. They’re all amazing! 😍 What was the language barrier like there? I always assumed somewhere like that would be hard to communicate for English speakers.
Mix and Match Mama says
We didn’t run into that problem one time. Every person who we interacted with spoke English.
Marla says
I was wondering the exact same thing! So many consonants on all of the signs!
Sheaffer says
Those tower views! Oh my word!!!! STUNNING.
Beth Knecht says
The countryside looks beautiful! I’ve never contemplate the Czech Republic but it looks comfy cozy!
Erika Slaughter says
Let’s go back to that Dancing House….HOW’D THEY BUILD THAT?! Super cool!
Mix and Match Mama says
My eyes and my brain had a hard time computing what I was seeing. It was so unique!
Karen says
Just breathtaking!

So gorgeous! Have you been to Annecy, France?! If not, you must! This town reminds me of there.
Janette says
Another Disney perfect town is Colmar, France. I was there last week. It’s two and a half hours from Paris by train and worth the ride. Disney used it as his inspiration for the toe in Beauty and the Beast. We bicycled in the Prague area and are going back this summer for more.
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you, thank you for the rec!!!
Kathy says
Yes! I was there and it’s charming.

What was the meal when you went to Sa Sa Zou? I know a lot of world travelers but have never known anyone who went to the Czech Republic. What precipitated the trip? Why did you pick the Czech Republic? Did everyone speak English?
Mix and Match Mama says
It was sushi and Asian influenced. Our hotel concierge recommended it to us. I would say that it’s pretty common for us to send people to the Czech Republic here at our agency. So many of our clients do river boat cruises which very often start/stop here, so we’ll also do the pre/post cruise here as well. Clare in our office (who specializes in European vacations) has always told me this was her favorite city in Europe and my brother says the same (he visited when on The Bachelorette). So, it all added up to a place on our bucket list. English is not their native language, but just like I find in all European big cities, most people speak it fluently.

This looks like such a dreamy trip! I’m inspired to go. Also, very random question, but what brand are Andrew’s shoes? Always looking for gift ideas for my hard to buy for husband.
Mix and Match Mama says
Those are Sorels! Smith and Andrew both really, really love them. We’ve purchased them for both of our dads for Christmas gifts before too.
Robin says
Trip looks amazing! And I wondered about Andrew’s shoes, as well. I cannot find the exact shoe. I am sorry to bother you but if you know more, would love the info. Thank you! ❤️
Mix and Match Mama says
I was wrong! He said these are Helly Hanson. I clearly can’t tell men’s shoes a part 😉 .
Debbie says
Oh my goodness! These pictures are SO gorgeous! THANKS for sharing!
Allison Diano says
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing another part of the world with us! I’ve added it to my list!!

Shay, the next time you go to the Czech Republic, you should visit Karlovy Vary! It’s a beautiful and charming spa town 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, yes!! That was on our list but just a little too far away for this trip. We spent a lot of time looking it over though, and it looks beautiful!
Faye says
I never had the Czech Republic on my list of places to go – but this is breathtaking – definitely my kind of vacation! You remind me of my Mom – she also loved when the leaves turned in the fall. In fact, a year or two before she passed we took her on a train trip in Northern Ontario – it’s just a few hours and you just enjoy the train ride through the foliage and she just sat and commented the entire way on what a good job God had done that year with the colours. 🙂 She was well into her 80’s and this was such a special time to enjoy with her. Anyway, thanks for sharing! Such a gorgeous town!
Mix and Match Mama says
I literally just said “awwwww” out loud in my office. This is so sweet. Thank you for sharing. xx

What a charming area! I live in Virginia and our oldest buildings date back to mid 1600’s. Something I have a hard time wrapping my mind around is the construction of these gorgeous cathedrals and ornate buildings that have stood for ages. Really amazing when you think about how it was constructed, how long many of these took to build and especially the manpower employeed during the process.
We were driving through West Virginia a few weeks ago and the fall colors were really showing off. I simply love this time of year!
Alison says
Those views! 😍 Like a storybook.
Lori Sharp says
Just wow! Needs to go on the must visit list! Also, totally random, Andrew’s shoes…..love them!
Meg says
Have you been to Quebec City? Specifically the Old City? Your pictures today remind me so much of it! Cannot recommend it enough- especially in December (it’s a Christmas wonderland!) and staying at Chateau Frontenac!
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t, but my in-laws are always telling me I should go!
Jaren says
Okay now I want to go to the Czech Republic! Never had that on my list!
Mix and Match Mama says
Go, Jaren, go!

A friend of ours got married in Prague, so we made the trip! We spent a few days in both Prague and Český Krumlov. It was fun to see your pictures…I kept saying, “I remember each of these places so well!” It’s a location you don’t forget easily. Thanks for sharing.
Mix and Match Mama says
Just something out of a storybook, right?! I cannot wait to visit again. xx
