Happy happy Saturday, friends!
I hope you are cozy this morning and enjoying a leisurely start to your weekend. We stayed up late last night watching high school football but get to sleep in a bit today. Speaking of today…it’s my little brother’s birthday! We are excited to celebrate Sean 🙂 .
Thank you for spending a little of your weekend with me. I am very grateful. xx
Per the tradition…our historical downtown area decorates with inflatable turkeys.
Also per the tradition, we take this pic 🙂 .

First up…
You can stock up on sweaters HERE!
You can find winter coats on sale HERE or…
…some amazing holiday deals HERE!
Both of my big kids’ high schools use the color red, so between that and Christmas…
…THIS PUFFER was an easy yes when I saw it at Target! It comes in several other colors too, but the red just said “please wear me in December!”. The price is really, really amazing for the quality. For a size reference, I bought an xs. I wore mine just last night!
Speaking of Target…
…how cute are their Christmas pillows?! I bought the SNOWFLAKE, TREE, and STRIPED PILLOW for upstairs. They all come in a variety of colors too.
Now, I will be reviewing this book later this month on my November Book Review, but I thought it was worth a mention here.
I’m not quite done with it but me oh my oh…
…I have found The 5 AM Club SO fascinating! Look at how many pages I have marked? I have annotated the heck out of it too.
Now listen, it’s a VERY odd little book (so much to say about that when I officially review it), but at the same time, it’s so inspiring/practical/wise, and I cannot put it down.
Truly, it’s super unusual and written in a unique and quirky way…but clearly, I’m finding it very beneficial.
Well, as you can see here, I’m watching the animated Grinch…but I have been also trying to watch some of the holiday movies on Netflix as well. Please tell me which ones you love? I tried watching the new one called Hot Frosty and quit after about 7 minutes. I did enjoy The Paris Christmas Waltz though! What are some others? I like how easy it is to watch them on demand while I am having lunch/working. I would love your suggestions!
I bought myself some sparkly fun for the holiday season!
Here are some of my festive finds from a dress to jeans that give you that holiday shimmer…
This is actually a TOP and a SKIRT so you can wear them together or mix and match!
Well, I LOVE these SPARKLY JEANS with THIS SHINE TANK!
Aren’t THESE JEANS fun?!
I topped it with…
…this VELVET JACKET!
SEQUIN TEE + SPARKLY JEANS + SILVER SANDALS
I loved the texture and color of this SWEATER…
…so soft!
And then finally…
…this COZY SWEATER too…
That wraps up our Saturday blog post! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
I will see you back here on Monday! xx

Good morning, Shay!
Agree, I was thinking that about Mades looking SO grown up even before I read your comment. Adorable.
Love all of the coziness in this post. I picked up the Target plaid tree pillow last Saturday morning.
I ordered a chocolate-brown sequin top from Loft that I love, but I’m wondering if it’s going to work for Christmas and New Year’s – or only for fall. Thoughts? TBD!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mix and Match Mama says
I think sequins always work for Christmas and NYE! I bet it’s perfect!

I love your Saturday posts!
I’m part of the 5 a.m. club, so I guess I should read the book 😉
I say it everywhere I can, The Bishop’s Wife with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven is my favorite Christmas movie (excepting the too long skating scene). So good with subtle humor. Love it!!!
Elspeth says
I can’t wait for a full review on the book! It sounds fascinating! Have a great weekend!

I also tried to watch hot frosty, and lasted about as long as you did. Those sparkly jeans look fun. Have a fabulous weekend.

Have a great weekend. I watched the Frosty one and it was so so. The biggest issue is the guy playing the snowman seemed too young like he should have been her son nit her love interest. I looked him up and he is only 2 years younger than Lacey in real life but on screen he seemed 2 young and then he had the character act pretty juvenile that the casting just ruined the film that actually had a pretty cute story line if you took him out of the picture.
Enjoy your weekend. I cant believe how tall Mades is getting. What till volleyball season…she is going to be on fire

That red jacket is so FESTIVE!
Thanks for doing the two angles on your outfits. It really does give a lot more perspective to the details!
I’m also here for the holiday movie recommendations. Had heard Hot Frosty was a good one somewhere online, but I’ll now be prepared to have a back-up plan. Ha!

Loved this Saturday post! Perfect to enjoy with my coffee with peppermint creamer 😊
Amy Rae D. says
Do you watch Hallmark Christmas movies? They are so good.
Mix and Match Mama says
I watch alllllll of them!! I love me a Hallmark movie! I’m having a hard time getting into the Netflix ones though.
Tiffany says
I stopped Hot Frosty after about 7 minutes too! I just couldn’t do it. 😂
Stephanie says
“Fall into Winter” on Netflix was really cute ! And “ A Heidelberg Holiday “ is darling too! ( it’s a Hallmark from last year and on Netflix this year ).
S says
Yes! “Fall Into Winter” w/Lori Loughlin & James Tupper was really great and Hallmark-esque.
Ruby Huling says
Why do our babies have to grow up so fast? My 10 yr old will be 11 next month!! We bought a new game called UZZLE and have really had fun playing it. It’s a game the entire family would enjoy!! Have a great weekend!!
Mary says
Happy Saturday! Just ordered the red puffer jacket!
Also one of my favorite Christmas movie is “A dog named Christmas”, it is a few years old but so good from one dog lover to another- (and yes we have 5 dogs) – tears of happiness at the end!
Have a great weekend!

All of your sparkly outfits are SO pretty! I really wish I had even a single reason to own/wear such pretty things.
Kim S. says
The Netflix movie “Meet Me Next Christmas” is great! It features Pentatonix – the group is in the movie and their music is in it too. My kids (21 and 12) were laughing out loud.
Courtney says
Agreed with this recommendation! I just watched “Meet Me Next Christmas” on Netflix and really enjoyed it.
Martina Ingemarsson says
I agree, the Netflix ones are not great… one exception though… it is not new but if you have not seen it yet, try Home for Christmas. It is from Norway and it is a series (2 seasons I believe).
Martina Ingemarsson says
Very Scandinavian though, they drink a lot and it is not all for kids…

My daughter and I loved the movie A Biltmore Christmas. It’s super cute and of course we loved seeing the Biltmore. We e been there before. Such a beautiful place. Hope . We also watched Hot Frosty. It didn’t take itself seriously at all. We mostly liked it because it has Greg Robinson from the office 😂. It was not one of my favorites. Either
Katrina Goodman says
Hi Shay! Have you watched The Comeback on Netflix yet? Watching it with my husband & I’m enjoying it!
Mix and Match Mama says
I have not! Thank you for the rec!
Jamie Beckman says
Hey Shay! I saw the Dyson in your post . Do you use one personally, and if so, which one do you like ??
Mix and Match Mama says
I LOVE MY DYSON!! I actually love it so much that over the years, I’ve bought two for McKinney and one for Nantucket. The one linked is the one I have at both houses and the least expensive but amazing version. I also have this one which is pricier but stays charged much much longer in McKinney: https://shopstyle.it/l/ciD1S
Emi says
All fantastic holiday looks! I LOVE those heels!! However , my feet would be freezing here in NJ 😢
Rachel Kazmier says
I personally watch The Holiday numerous times. The last time was a few weeks ago when we went to London for the weekend! But I’m doing all the Hallmark, especially loved the one set in Ireland!!!! Happy Holidays!
Alissa says
Both of these Christmas movies came out in the last couple of years but totally worth a watch if you haven’t seen them already. Love Hard on Netflix is so cute and funny and This Is Christmas on Amazon Prime – very heartwarming and takes place in London. Enjoy!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank YOU!
Dana P says
Oh, man. If only I had read this post on Saturday! I had turned on Hot Frosty and was barely paying attention to it. The next thing I knew, our 10 year-old son and his friend had come in and were watching it. I looked up and was like, ‘what on earth?’ hahahahaha…It was definitely not what I was expecting, although my 12 year-old daughter was like, ‘mom, it’s called HOT FROSTY!’ bahahahaha…lesson learned!
Paige E says
I agree Netflix has been missing on a few of these holiday Hallmark-y movies. BUT the Bethlehem Miracle one is wonderful! Highly recommend. I got teary-eyed multiple times. Warm fuzzy, tears not sad tears. I may watch it a second time in a couple of weeks.
Janice Moua says
Meet Me Next Christmas on Netflix is nice – and Pentatonix is in it 🙂
Morgan Godbold says
The Nextflix movie Holidate is so funny and cute! But be warned it’s more on the adult side and so don’t watch this with the kids! 🙂
