Happy SATURDAY, friends!
Thank you so much to everyone who checked on Kensington yesterday. She got those wisdom teeth out yesterday morning and is home doing fantastic. We plan on watching a lot of TV and staying cozy inside this weekend.
Several of you suggested she drink pineapple juice leading up to it and afterwards…and so far, so good. I can always count on you ladies for the most random and yet super helpful advice 😉 .

Well…
…we’ve been wearing a lot of athletic wear as we tend to live outside. I love walking to tennis lessons with these two. They were cracking me up after their first lesson of the season because their coach told them they looked rusty. They could not quit giggling. They have been taking lessons every week since they last saw him…so how they look “rusty” is anyone’s guess. They can’t wait to tell their McKinney coach. Bahahahaha!
I’m back to reading at my favorite spot…
…we love taking our lunch to the beach. We eat, we’ll read or…
…they’ll play or…
…he’ll fish…
…and then we head back home. It’s one of the highlights of my day.

…The Tavern and its adjoining bar, The Gazebo…
Everyone loves this spot. It’s the first restaurant you see when you walk off the ferry, you don’t need a reservation, the views are spectacular, the food is delicious, the service is great, the price is right, the mudslides are famous, and Luke, the owner, is one of the nicest guys on Nantucket. On an island where you have to make dinner reservations weeks in advance (and you still might not get ‘in’), this spot here is just THE BEST.
After 34 years, the owners of the property declined to renew his lease and to say people are in an uproar is the biggest understatement on Nantucket right now. If you’re coming over this season, whether for the day or for a vacation, support Luke and stop in. You will love the food and immediately understand why his lease not being renewed is so so sad.

We are Juice Bar people at heart…BUT…should you arrive and want to try something different (or not want to wait in a long line), Jack and Charlie’s is also a very popular ice cream spot right by the ferry.

My senior in HS just got his wisdom teeth out on Thursday, and someone literally just said that pineapple juice was the trick! He’s doing well but I just added it to my grocery list for today! Who knew?!!

Hey-girl… your dipped nails looked great in Thursday’s post… but I’m worried about your summer nail situation after the fingernail salon-debacle last year when you got your nails done away from home.
Are you just going to try to maintain them in between trips when you are home in TX or have you found a good option on the island? Just wondering if you aren’t nervous after your traumatic nail experience last summer. Best of luck to you!

I love that your girls were giggling at the rusty tennis comment. What a great response! Far too many, myself at times included, could be offended at a remark like that. How much nicer the world would be if people laughed off an opinion that isn’t a big deal rather than carry a grudge or have hurt feelings or respond in anger. I love it!
