Happy What’s Up Wednesday, friends!
It’s a Wednesday that feels like a…I don’t know? What day does it feel like? Between Monday being a holiday and the kids being out for summer, it feels very un-Wednesday like to me.
Nevertheless, we have reached the last Wednesday of one of my favorite months 🙂 .
As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Here we go…
In full transparency, I am typing this sentence at 12:03 PM on Tuesday. It’s the first “real day of summer” for my kids, and I’m already failing. Instead of eating a high protein lunch at my kitchen table…I just ate a very bland and boring turkey wrap that I brought to my desk on a paper towel along with two dark chocolate peanut butter cups. I’m working and eating in-between “all the things” that go on during the day when the family is home.
Clearly, I have not nailed down my “summer routine” just yet.
Agh! It always takes me a minute to get my feet under me each year. I would say that on our official day #1 of summer, I am on the struggle bus. 😉
Can you guys believe that this will be the third summer our family will live on Nantucket?! Wasn’t this pic above JUST taken?!
We are wrapping up a few things in Texas and then making our way up north. Andrew went up yesterday to get some things done before we all arrive (pull things from storage, etc).
We are pumped, y’all! We are PUMPED!
These STRETCHY HAIR BANDS are amazing! I adore them! They make it so easy to pull my hair back without tugging on it at all. I use them for everything from braids to ponytails and even buns too. Easy!
We had a full three day weekend!
Dinner on the square with Miss Britt on Friday…
…a full day of swimming and dinner at my parents’ house on Saturday…
…church on Sunday and then the Slaughters came over for a Memorial Day dinner on Monday. It was a full weekend with my favorite people.
Now that we have that crazy last month of school behind us, we are sailing! Other than pesky mosquitoes, I’ve got nothing to dread 🙂 .
Make sure you check out my other new post today! I am also sharing OURA RING PART THREE!
And this time, there are two of us wearing our rings 🙂 .
See my review HERE!
Okay, spoiler alert, but my MAY BOOK REVIEW is going to be EPIC!!! I just wrapped up reading my favorite batch of books so far this year!! Stay tuned for that post, but in the meantime, I already started our next BOOK CLUB pick…
…Maine Characters by Hannah Orenstein, and I hope you read along with us too! We will be meeting to discuss this book on June 22nd.
Right now, I hear Madeley and Ashby watching Madeley’s theater production of Annie (we have the video now!). We are stilllllllllll in Annie mode over here, people. The sun comes out tomorrow every single day around our house. Ashby is a very good sport to be watching the performance now for the 4 billionth time 😉 .
If it’s not cool and comfy, I’m probably not wearing it 🙂 .
I loved THESE ATHLETA SHORTS so much that I bought them in two different colors…
They have solid options too, but the piping just gets me every time 🙂 . They run TTS, are fully lined and have deep pockets. Love!
Also, please note that the corner of my rug keeps coming up, so I’m currently holding it down with a box of La Croix. Sigh.
Last week, I shared my SUMMER CLOSET STAPLES for 2025. Here are a few of the highlights…
My TENNIS SKIRT on repeat this summer! It comes in so many other colors too!
MY LINEN SHORTS and SANDALS are both faves this season!
If you’re looking for white jeans this season…
…THESE are also going with me to Nantucket this summer.
Of course, THESE AMAZING AMAZON SHORTS are a staple! The price and color selection cannot be beat!
THIS SOFT LOOSE TANK DRESS is so so good! I truly cannot rave about it enough!
It’s cheer camp week which means lots of fun for these girls and lots of cheering them on from us parents 🙂 .
Yes ma’am. Let’s do it 🙂 .
And that wraps up May’s Edition of What’s Up Wednesday!
If you blogged along with us today, please link up below.
You guys, I hope you all have the BEST day!!! Don’t forget, OURA RING PART THREE is up today too!
I’ll see you tomorrow 🙂 .

Makes me excited for summer! And I’m right with you on Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups-I didn’t realize they were so much better than Reese’s. I was so sad when I ate my last one recently!
Mix and Match Mama says
THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER!
Julie says
They ARE so much better! They are on my TJ shopping list! 😀
Caitlin says
Random health nutrition question- do you track macros or calories? If so, which app do you use?
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not.
Caitlin says
Would love to hear more
About your nutrition on a post like
How you maintain your weight without tracking. You look great! There is so much “ noise” around macros.
P says
If you put a little pile of ice on that carpet corner with a bowl over it, the ice will slowly melt and it will stop the carpet corner from turning up :).
Kari Miller says
So many cute summer fit ideas! I hope you have a great Wednesday!! Bring on June!

I know how to fix your the corner of your rug popping up! If you place a few ice cubes on the corner of your carpet then a heavy object right next to the ice to weigh the corner down and let the ice melt overnight then it will fix it! Hope this helps!
Mix and Match Mama says
You are the second person to mention this and my mind is BLOWN!
Paula Hobbs says
This also has me mindblown! I cannot wait to try this!! Thanks for the tip!
Sheaffer says
It definitely doesn’t feel like a Wednesday, but I’ll tell you what, I LOVED NOT SETTING AN ALARM!!! And those sea shell shorts are darling!!!!
Bren says
Yay summer! Oh how I enjoy following along with your family in Nantucket – visiting there is definitely on my “to-do” list, but in the meantime, I will enjoy seeing and learning more about that beautiful island through you! I’m off to get that red skort above. Whenever you have shared it I think about it, today is finally the day! I’m a fellow WDW girl and that color keeps telling me I need it for our next time there!
Mix and Match Mama says
How cute would that be at Disney?!
Jamie says
I saw something on Instagram that said if you put ice on your corner of your rug and let it melt it fixes the curling!
Mix and Match Mama says
MY MIND IS BLOWN.

They also sell nifty rug grippers/tape on amazon that are cheap and do the trick!

We do have some people joining us this summer 🙂 .
K.K. says
Can’t wait to see all your summer fun on Nantucket!!! It absolutely makes me want to travel NORTH!! Does Nantucket have mosquitoes? If not, I’m in! 😉
Mix and Match Mama says
Compared to Texas, the answer feels like a big “no” but yes, there are some up there.

I’m laughing at the other rug corner solutions, but here’s another one, I’ve used. Buy at peel and stick vinyl tile from hardware store, then cut it in half to create triangles. Peel the tile and stick it to the back of your rug corner. I did it years ago and the adhesive on the tile is strong enough to stick, but won’t damage the rugs if I every pull it off. Here’s an online example: https://houseofmarkla.com/blog/2020/2/23/how-to-flatten-curling-rug-corners
Julie says
Do you have a link for your green bikini top/bottoms you had on?
Mix and Match Mama says
I do! This style is my favorite: https://shopstyle.it/l/cqPZy

I seriously thought it has only been 2 summers!! Can’t wait to see all the Schull Summer Shenanigans 😁.

Lemoncello La Croix! The GOAT!! You should do a top 5/bottom 5 of La Croix flavors or beverages! Can’t wait to hear about Nantucket life, enjoy!
Mix and Match Mama says
Okay, not a bad idea! Spoiler alert…it’s not one of my favorites (agh!).
Arika says
I hope we get to hear about the dogs’ adventures north as well! 🙂
