Happy Tuesday, friends!
It’s JULY!
Today, I have a little TRAVEL TUESDAY post plus our JUNE BOOK REVIEW and then, I’m going to hit pause here in blog world and enjoy the Fourth with my family. I will miss you guys this week, but I am excited for uninterrupted family time 🙂 .
Okay, on to today’s post!
On Saturday morning…
…Mades and I packed an overnight bag and headed off to the airport for…
…a quick little flight over to Boston…
…we were so excited!
We landed in Boston and met up with my sweet dad right there in the airport (he had just come in from Dallas), so that we could go to a Red Sox game!
We headed to the hotel, dropped off our bag and immediately…
…headed out and about in Boston.
Awwwww! I love one on one time with my kiddos! We grabbed lunch and walked the Back Bay Area until it was time to head over to…
…Fenway Park!
Awwwww! So happy to be there with these two!
Our first stop once inside Fenway was to…
…get Mades’ face painted and then, we loaded up on Red Sox merch and headed to our seats…
…she was a happy camper! My favorite part of the game was about halfway through when she said “I finally understand baseball now”. Bahaha! I love that she asked so many questions and this time around, really wanted to learn about the game. It made her WAY more interested in it!
In our happy place!
Because when you’re at a baseball game, it’s a must.
We had so much fun!
She had so many questions about Big Papi…
…we loaded up on food…
…and enjoyed every minute!
Saturday night at Fenway Park!
I always think about the movie Fever Pitch when I’m watching the Sox play. At the beginning of the movie, there’s a great line when Jimmy Fallon’s uncle is explaining his love for the Sox to him. He says “They’ll break your heart, kid”…which they do OFTEN, but on this night…
…they DID NOT BREAK OUR HEARTS! Fifteen to one over Toronto!
It was one of those epic nights to be at the ballpark.
I am so blessed to have a dad who flies all the way to Boston just to see one game with his daughter and granddaughter. It was a very special day.
Okay friends, I’m heading off to enjoy the Fourth week with my fam. I hope you have a WONDERFUL holiday! I will see you back here on Monday! xx

I’m a die hard Cub fan. Our hearts get broken every September. Sometimes earlier than that. lol. My love for the Cubs comes from my dad. It truly is my favorite memory of him.

You know I don’t know who enjoys it more you, Mades, or your Dad!!! What special memories for all of you, plus the win. How wonderful she asks so many questions. I used to watch games on TV with my mom…Tigers and Twins were my teams. Hubs found a stack of baseball cards I used to collect with Kirby Puckett…my favorite on the Twins!!
Enjoy you time with Family & Happy 4th!!!

High scoring games are SO much fun, especially for kids. We caught one at Wrigley last season and my 9yo was so happy! Glad you had a great time.

This post makes me so happy… I think it’s the family traditions that are so special in my family that I relate to – and of course, what you’ve shared of yours. I think I feel ‘vicarious nostalgia’ in this post – is that a thing?! ha

Over the years you have visited Boston, have you settled on a favorite place to stay?

There are so many great places to stay. I really love the Marriott Copley for location.

I started dating my husband, who is a Redsox fan, in 2004 when they filmed Fever Pitch. I heard they had to rewrite the ending when the Redsox started winning. What a great year to become a Redsox fan. 😉⚾️❤️

When my 23 year old was four, we took her to her first Pittsburgh Pirates game, she sat perfectly still until the fourth inning when she leaned over and said, “but when do the real pirates come out?”🏴☠️

Stop it! That is the CUTEST!!!
