Happy Wednesday, friends!
I was chatting with a girlfriend on Monday afternoon when she mentioned already feeling “that holiday frazzle”. I TOTALLY get that. It’s only November 5th and yet the stores (and my house!) are decorated, the music is on, my calendar is quickly becoming full of “holiday” things, and as much as I LOVE the Christmas season, that little bit of hectic holiday tension has started to hit me too.
Before #allthethings begin (both FUN and stressful), I thought it was the perfect time to start another walking challenge to encourage/motivate/keep us all accountable.
Between now and the end of the year, let’s go…

…STEPPING INTO THE HOLIDAYS!
In May, we kept each other accountable by walking every day in May, so I thought between now and the end of the year, we could do the same. This will look different for every single person, but my goal is to walk at least 30 minutes every day (including Thanksgiving and Christmas days).
I don’t know about you, but during this crazy busy (fun!) season, I need to stay active AND give myself a few minutes every day to listen to a podcast, talk on the phone, walk with a friend, or simply enjoy the silence.
So, who’s in with me?
Just like last time, I will post some link ups on Instagram, so snap pics of you “stepping into the holidays” and then share them with me on IG.
I would love to finish the year with extra steps 🙂 .
Let me know if you’re game!
One last thing, I’m also sharing my TRADER JOE’S NOVEMBER HAUL today too! Pop over HERE to check that out as well.
I’m off to walk! Let me know if you are stepping into the holidays too! xx

Yes! I loved participating back in May and could definitely use the extra push to stay active during the busy holiday season!

“Yes” to Stepping Into The Holidays!
And “yes” to NOT taking in the holiday frazzle. This year I’m gifting simple gifts to only family and letting go of expectations. My health needs a peaceful Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and I’m embracing a slower paced holiday season.

Great idea! I love the accountability ◡̈

I agree!!
Carol says
Ok, so since I already walk everyday for at least 30 -40 minutes and most days more than that, I am with you for the walk everyday. Prayer and being Thankful for another day, Coffee, Walking, Devotions, and God’s beauty are the BEST way to start a day. It has worked for me for almost 18 years.
On the side, Lol, there are only 2 M&M sausage balls left in my freezer. I wanted to heat them up with my coffee, but I know my son loves them too, So as a Mom, I will leave then for him and make more later today. Yes, I always make a double recipe when I make them.
Mix and Match Mama says
I am about to make a new batch too. They are so easy, and we go through them like crazy too.
Brandi says
Thank you for the encouragement this morning to get up out of my chair and walk. I’ve been needing to do this for weeks and just haven’t done it. This post this morning is exactly what I needed. Thank you. ❤️

I have my 9 lb weighted vest ( I only weigh 89 after losing 47 lbs thru boxing & walking) and I’m ready to not let this holiday get the best of me. I absolutely hate the holiday season ,except for Halloween & Valentine’s Day. Every year it comes on to early and now every on line store has Black Friday sales now the first week in November!!! I have decide this week no actual, physical gifts. I am only giving experiences: theater & concert tickets for my kids, family group experiences we are making candles the day after Thanksgiving- a holiday I abhor as a vegetarian. I’m knitting scarfs & hats for my brother’s skiing family, massages for friends, etc. We all own too much STUFF so we are now making family memories.
I am ready to walk. Bring it own.
Mix and Match Mama says
Beverly, I am just in awe of you this year. You have made so many AMAZING health changes. I love your updates!! I also love that you’re not exchanging gifts. I think this is the BEST idea!

Love the “Stepping into the Holidays” name! I tried a mile a day in October and only made it 22 based on work, football, my now 13 year old’s birthday and my gym classes (still a record for me!) so I’ve already started this month and have 5 miles so far. Fun accountability!
Suzanne D says

Lisa Brown says
I am in! I am trying to move as much as possible, and this will be so fun to do alongside your awesome community! Thanks for the invite!

Being held accountable or having a partner is always a great idea. The weather will soon be playing a huge role here in MN. I’ve been loving the 50 degree sunny days to walk at lunch.

Will try this for motivation. Daylight Savings time is killing me though… my daughter has a dance class twice a week at 6 p.m. I would walk the neighborhood for a good 45 minutes. Now this week it is pitch black outside at 6 pm!
Kstie says
I.Am.IN!
Brianne says
I did the walking challenge in September and walked every day in addition to my lifting days. I knew it would be harder to walk every day in October so set a mileage goal for the month. I dis the same for November with a goal of walking 50 miles for the month. These are logged walks not just my daily steps. Anyhow, I’m ready to walk!!
Debbie Hibbert says
I’m late in responding … but I want to join the walking challenge! I would also appreciate prayer. Because of a disability, walking can be VERY challenging for me. Part of the reason it’s challenging is because I don’t walk enough … so it becomes a vicious cycle. I’m determined to do this, hopefully with good results in strengthening the areas of my body that are weak.
Erin Blum says
I’m in! Been shooting for 10k a day, so this will keep me motivated!!
Dana Jackson says
Great idea to step into the holidays!! Loved the May challenge! A good walk helps me in many ways so I’m in for this challenge!
Jenn Workman says
I’M IN! I just bought myself a walking pad for when it gets cold. I live at the beach, so cold to me is anything below 60* haha! I plan to read my Kindle that I just won from you while I’m strolling inside. I’m still so giddy that I won something 🙂
Becky Carl says
I must do this! Neck surgery last year, back surgery and few weeks ago…..I have lost so much muscle strength!! No reason why I can’t do 30 min walk!
Mix and Match Mama says
You have really been through it, Becky. Wishing you so much health and a quick recovery as we wrap up this year. xx
LESLIE SWARTZ says
Perfect time of the year – I’m in
Ashley Rodriguez says
YES! I’m in as well! Thanks for pushing me (us!)!

I have been walking one hour per day on the rails to trails in my area. It’s a beautiful time of year. Walking one hour makes it easy to get 10000 steps, working towards 15000.
Valerie A says
I’m in! Now that the weather is so much better to get outside, this is just perfect timing.
Valerie P says
I’m in too! I love your challenges Shay! Since I already walk every morning, I am going to challenge myself to go for a 2nd walk 3+ days a week.
