You guys, I first made these CHERRY KOOL-AID CUPCAKES thirteen years ago and guess what?
They’re still THE CUTEST little Valentine’s treat for your sweethearts.
Are these crazy easy? Yes. Do they use a box mix and canned frosting? Absolutely.
Here’s the deal, as much as I would love to provide seasonal, festive, wholesome, healthy, completely made from scratch treats for my kids for each holiday…it’s just probably not going to happen. If I waited around to do that, my kids would never get a festive treat to accompany each holiday. I love making memories around fun little seasonal recipes with my kiddos. Valentine’s Cherry Kool-Aid Cupcakes
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 18 minutes
- Total Time: 28 minutes
- Yield: 2 dozen cupcakes 1x

Ingredients
- 1 package white cake mix (plus the ingredients to prepare per box directions)
- 2 packets (.13 oz each) cherry Kool-Aid
- 1 can cherry frosting
- Conversation Hearts to garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, prepare white cake mix per box directions. Then using an electric mixer, mix in both packets of cherry Kool-Aid. Poor into lined cupcake tins. Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes rest 5-10 minutes in the muffin tin before removing them to finish cooling completely. Frost cooled cupcakes with cherry frosting and garnish with conversation hearts.

Yes! You can, of course, just use vanilla or you can stir in a little cherry extract into vanilla or even a little extra cherry Kool-Aid!
