Happy TRAVEL Tuesday, friends!
Today’s post is extra MAGICAL because I’m sharing a little bit more about DISNEY’S VIP TOURS!
Over the last two months, I have received so many emails and DMs about these tours, so I wanted to share. I personally love little looks and peeks inside random things like this, so I love that you do too.
Whether you were one of the ones who asked the question or maybe you just want a little random nugget for your Tuesday, we love these tours so much that I wanted to share.

Mix and Match Travel Agency has been helping clients book VIP tours for years, but in November, as a team we took one together 🙂 .
Some of my team members had experienced this amazingness before, but this was a first for me, and it was ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL!
I knew the nuts and bolts of these tours (your group gets a private guide, private transportation, unlimited access to all of the parks, no waiting in lines, etc), but I didn’t FULLY UNDERSTAND all of the tiny little details that really made this experience feel extra, extra VIP.
Here are a few pics and details…

These tours are booked in advance and up to seven hours long. You are assigned a tour guide (all of whom are extremely vetted and knowledgeable members of the Disney family) and this person(s) (depending on how big your group is) creates the day around YOU.
We asked our guide to pick us up on this day after brunch at the Grand Floridian Resort. He was there ready and waiting in a big sprinter van to take us off on our magical day. Our travel agency helps our clients in advance organize a really great itinerary for the day based on your group’s needs to maximize who is in your group, the time you have, what you want to do and see, etc before you meet with your guide. We had our very organized list in hand, passed it off to our guide and away we went.

We planned our day around visiting all four parks at Walt Disney World. Thanks to our guide’s private transportation AND all of the secret ways we were able to enter and exit each park, this was absolutely doable for the ten of us. Our first stop was Animal Kingdom…

…where our VIP tour guide Matt took us in a back entrance right to all of the rides we wanted to go on that morning. Disney asks that you don’t take photos “behind the scenes”, so I do not have any to share, but we never went in the main entrance to any park. We pulled right up though to all of these super cool, back entrances and walked right on in. Matt took us straight to the front of all of the rides we wanted to ride.
When we were finished at Animal Kingdom, we hopped back in our van (which had been cooled down already for us…talk about an amazing perk ESPECIALLY in Florida!) and drove us to our next stop, Hollywood Studios.
When we pulled up, there was a whole VIP crew there with complementary drinks and snacks for us…

…I’ll take a VIP snack, please!
Once again, inside the park, we went straight to…

…the front of the line and checked off all of our favorite rides inside this park too. Along the way, Matt also told us so many cool stories, pointed out so many things we never would have known/seen, answered a million questions…it was such a fun, intimate peek behind the scenes at Disney.
As he was taking us to the front of the line of another ride, he asked us what our Starbucks orders were and by the time we got off that ride…

…he was magically waiting there with 10 custom Starbucks drinks. I mean, is that VIP or what?!
We hopped back in our magical van and Matt drove us next over to…

…Magic Kingdom!

Not only did he take us everywhere we wanted to go, but he also took us places inside the park we didn’t even know we wanted to visit (like right smack in the middle of the Christmas parade!). It was so much fun!
When our 7 hours were up, Matt asked us where we wanted to finish the day, and we told him Epcot. He drove us right to the back of the park and walked us in this secret back way to deliver us directly to the restaurant we had lined up for dinner.
I wasn’t sure if having an extra person with us all day would be super fun or super awkward, but he COULD NOT have made it more special. In fact, the next day, we happened to see him out with another tour and we all FAN GIRLED over him because we had had such an awesome day the day before.
The following week, look what was in my mailbox…

…icing on the cake 🙂 .
So, here’s the deal, these tours are amazing, but they’re certainly not feasible for everyone. I’ve been to Walt Disney World approximately 4 billion times, and this was the first time I’d ever booked one. If you are looking to visit and want more information about pricing (it’s based on seasonal pricing), availability, specifics about how it could work for your group (maybe you have a bunch of small kiddos or some senior travelers with you who need a slower pace or you have other specific needs that need to be met), we would love to walk you through all of the options and help you and the VIP team create the most magical day too.
Disney is NOT one size fits all…especially right now. There are so many ways you can mix and match a Disney vacation to make it custom, unique, and magical specifically to YOU, and we would love to help. Remember, you get all of our concierge services included for free. That’s all a part of our Disney vacation planning. We don’t want you to just go on a Disney vacation, we want you to have THE MOST MAGICAL TIME. You can reach out to us and find more information ON OUR WEBSITE.
If you have questions, I can answer them in the comment section today too.

My family of five have been annual passholders for years and never booked a tour. Now I feel like I should bite the bullet and spurge just for the secret entrances! So cool!

YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

That looks awesome!!! How much should someone tip their tour guide? Just curious.
Mix and Match Mama says
10 to 20% is standard…but I was so blown away by Matt that I could not wait to show my appreciation through his tip.

This sounds like an excellent way to see the parks. Do they do VIP tours for groups only? Or, will they put a small party together with others?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s for individual parties. Great question!

This makes me more excited. We booked a VIP tour at Disney and Universal for our daughter’s 13th birthday trip. It’s our special trip with just one kid and both parents.

You are going to LOVE it!

Here’s a fun little story…our family has used the same VIP guide for years. We absolutely ADORE him! We initially met him when he was one of our Adventure Guides on our first Adventures by Disney trip, and we all just thought he was the best. We stay in touch even when we don’t have a Disney trip planned. My husband & I are boarding the Disney Wish on Friday to attend his wedding on the ship!
Mix and Match Mama says
I LOVE this! I hope you have the BEST time on board the ship for the wedding!!

And the VIP secret closet of souvenirs only VIP guests can purchase! Remember I had to have that backpack. 😉
It was the best day!!!!

We have done 3 VIP tours between Disneyland and Disneyworld and LOVE them! They will even let you request a repeat guide if you have had someone before you love. It really is magical! A quick note for your readers-it’s my understanding that tours are a minimum of 7 hours (not up to 7 hours) and that you can add on additional hours or even half hours at the going rate, up to 10 hours total. Have a magical day!
Richelle says
Yes, this is correct! Minimum of 7 hours with a maximum of 10 hours at an hourly rate. We usually do the full 10 hours! 😃

I highly recommend Disney’s VIP tours! We have done 2 in the last 2 years and they make visiting the parks even more magical! My 4 grandkids absolutely love it, and Kelly our guide is the best! The only downside is that once you have experienced a VIP tour, you will always want to going forward!

Do you think a VIP tour would be worth it with small children? We would have 6 adults with a 4 year old, 1 year old, and potentially an infant. A VIP tour sounds amazing, but going with such small children does give me pause…
Mix and Match Mama says
Absolutely! In fact, the amazing VIP tour guides can stay with your kiddos at the exit of these rides so that you can ride the more adult ones while your kiddos eat popcorn and wait just a minute (it’s super fast because you won’t have to wait in the line). I think these are AMAZING for families with small kids. No waiting, lots of snacks, vans with AC to get you in and out of the park quickly, time for you to ride things they cannot…all pros.

Thank you so much for this information! Very helpful 🙂
