Shay’s Friday Faves {10.16.26}

Hey, hey FRIDAY!

You guys, we only have two more weeks until Halloween.  If you’re not squeezing in as much October goodness as possible, now is the time.

I can get a little nervous energy thinking about all the things I want to do before the end of the month.

There is just SO MUCH FUN in October 🙂 .

Today’s Friday Faves is EXTRA big.  I hope you are settled in and ready for it.

Last week, we celebrated McKinney Boyd High’s HOMECOMING!

This was an extra bittersweet year because it was our fourth and final at Boyd.

We soaked up all the fun starting with a family cookbook on Sunday night for the cheer families.  I forgot to take a pic but let me assure you, my cheeseburger was delish 😉 .

On Monday night…

…we had the Homecoming carnival and parade at the high school!

As you know, I love any kind of parade.

They always make me feel small town and give me that cozy, neighborhood vibe…

This year was extra extra special because our very own Kensington was one of the Athletic Queen nominees…

…she got to ride with the other nominees on their own float.

They played games, they ate these fried doughnut looking things, and had slushies.  It was a sugary sweet Monday night for all!

On Thursday (game day)…

…they had the Homecoming pep rally.  The cheerleaders did a glow in the dark dance.  So fun!

And then on Thursday night, we all headed to the game for the bonus fun…

…awwwww!  Goodness, I love them so much!

We arrived early because a parent walked the nominee across the field for the ceremony.  Andrew was so proud to walk his oldest girl across that field.  We had all four grandparents and six Shulls in the stadium to cheer on our girl!

The senior cheerleaders all looked gorgeous!

Awwwww, the cheerleaders all lined up to cheer on the cheerleader nominees in each category (Athletic Queen, Academic Queen, Fine Arts Queen, Miss Congeniality, and Homecoming Queen…when you have a huge school, you have lots of categories!).

Per tradition, right after the awards ceremony, they play the fight song…

…which means any nominated cheerleaders do it in their evening gown.  Ha!

They always announce the cheerleaders’ names, and this was when it was her turn 🙂 .

After kickoff, the girls in gowns changed…

…and it was back to watching our favorite cheerleaders on the sideline.

We couldn’t have had a more special homecoming for our girl.

The very next night…

…we were back in another stadium to watch the Lovejoy Leopards!

I just could not love that #40 more…

…he’s just such a sweet boy, and he loves his mama BIG.  I am so proud of this kid too!

Friday Night Lights is my favorite way to kickoff a weekend.
