You guys know how I work. I see the holiday M&Ms, instantly buy 3 bags, bring them home and think, “hmmmm…what can I bake with these…”. And thus…a blondie was born and adorned with Valentine M&Ms. And you know what else? You could totally mix and match these for any holiday (M&M makes Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, St. Paddy’s Day, Easter…and probably more!) Make a blondie and have it with your sweetheart.
Shopping List
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups Valentine M&Ms (or whatever holiday you’re celebrating)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spray an 8×8 inch baking dish with Pam and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla with a spoon until just blended. In a second bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly stir the flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture until just combined. Stir in one cup of your M&Ms.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Take your remaining 1/2 cup M&Ms and slightly press them across the top of the batter. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
Simple and festive. Kiss your Valentine!

When we were overseas, I would have my mom send me bags of holiday M&Ms and then I'd sort them so I'd have green for St. Pat's or pink for a little girl bday. American M&Ms are different (and superior!) to the foreign rendition! 🙂 These blondies look yummy!

I made these today and they were delicious! They took 35 minutes to cook through for me and I used a 1/4 cup of m&m's on the top instead of a half cup. Thanks for sharing!

Love your recipes and both blogs! Blondes were a success in our home, and my girls now renamed brownies to brunetties! Very cute. Thank you!

These look great, blah, I did a horrible job celebrating this year. I have my two boys and I wanted to bake with them but we were in the middle of renovations and had no kitchen, so this year's Valentine's Day was Chinese take-out (ah well, at least I spent it with hubby and the boys). In the future, I want to bake cute things like this, with mms (son LOVES them).

This is a go-to recipe for me. I have made them with M&Ms, mini M&Ms, butterfinger baking bits, and chocolate chips (separately, not together, haha). The only change I make is to bake them in a 9×13 pan. They are perfect!! I take them anywhere I need to take a dessert. Thanks for the recipe!!
