Top three?! How did we get to the top three already? In reality…I’ve known about the top three since November, so on one hand, this has taken FOREVER but on the other hand, it happened quickly and the season is almost over. Instead of ABC, we have ALC…
A: AshLee
I was so hoping that AshLee would be the one! I just moved into this rent house and am building a home and could really use a sister-in-law that can organize a closet. Nuts!
I loved AshLee…loved her. However, she wasn’t the one for Uncle Seanie. I empathize so much with her and her family because Sean came home third on the Bachelorette, so I know how hard it is to see someone you love think they’re going to get engaged but then be heart-broken.
Now…Sean came home third and ended up the Bachelor…should sweet AshLee be our next Bachelorette? Top three reasons why I think she’s a good candidate:
1. She is smokin’ hot. And let’s face it…we like the lead to be smokin’ hot!
2. She seems to be really mature and have a good head on her shoulders…a must for someone in the lead’s position.
3. I already miss her dad. I would love to see more of her dad, so that in itself is reason enough to give her a TV show, right?
Which recipe makes me think of AshLee going home…well, it has to be my Lemon Whoopie Pies…because I made those the day I first saw Sean after he came home from Emily’s season. Trust me, a whoopie pie can help you get over almost anything in life.
L: Lindsay
Our sweet substitute teacher Lindsay has made it to the top two. The chemistry between her and Sean is obvious…I’m pretty sure they made out the entire date (at least when they weren’t petting monkeys and eating bugs).
Top three reasons why I think she’s in the top two:
1. Lindsay and Sean make out like high-schoolers. Lots of chemistry there!
2. She is very forthcoming with her feelings.
3. She ate bugs. Seriously…that in itself deserves some grand prize.
When I think of Lindsay’s date in Southern Thailand, I can’t help but think of…
…my Chocolate Monkey Bread. 🙂
C: Catherine
Our quirky and spirited Catherine has also made it to the top two. Her and Sean seem to have a real connection over all things goofy and fun…and just being themselves.
Top three reasons why I think she’s in the top two:
1. Catherine and Sean seem really relaxed around each other…they’re not trying to hard, it’s very natural.
2. She seems really easy-going and fun. No drama from C.
3. She’s the only one that can back flip off a boat alongside Sean. I would have jumped in feet first holding my nose.
When I think of Catherine’s date in Southern Thailand, I couldn’t help but think of…
…my Mac and Trees. The beautiful trees and landscape of Thailand reminded me of the “trees” in this recipe, plus, it’s kind of a goofy recipe (like Sean and Catherine together) and it’s vegetarian…no beef for the girl who keeps saying she only likes one kind of beef.
My top three favorite Tweets from last night:
Who I’m most excited to see on The Women Tell All next week:
1. Tierra
2. Tierra
3. Tierra
Ohhh…did you see the previews for the finale??? Looks like Sean’s family flies all the way to Thailand to help him make this decision. Wait? That’s me! I’m Sean’s family! Did I fly my kids all the way to Thailand to help Uncle Seanie make this decision? I guess you have to watch to find out…

And I’ll be on Good Morning Texas this morning too.
Happy Recap Tuesday!

I really thought Ashlee was going to win, but I was way off. I can't wait to see Tierra either…I'm sure it will be crazy. And I hope you did get to go to Thailand! 🙂

LOVE this post! Yes, you could have used some AshLee during your move! And I can vouch for your chocolate monkey bread. DELISH.

Hi Shay! First of all, I wanted to tell you that you all are absolutely darling. Second of all, your awesome "Show-Me-Boy" is from my hometown, so Missouri ain't all bad. LOL
Unfortunately, I wasn't privy to that on-line dude who tells who the lucky girl will be, until this season and all I can say is "Ugh!" We have a weekly Bachelor watch party and the girls told me the winner about four shows ago. I wish your precious brother all the luck in the world and may God bless him in all his decisions.
P.S. Sean should have listened to you and momma
P.P.S. I told my friends a couple of weeks ago that I hope AshLee is the next Bachelorette so you and I need to work on that. 🙂
Danielle @ Clean Food Creative Fitness says
Such a fun recap Shay! I'm looking forward to watching the finale! Ashlee was such a sweetheart, I was sad to see her go.

my heart broke for AshLee and for Sean last night ~ that couldn't have been easy for him!!
Loved Catherine last night!! I love how she is so comfortable being herself w/ him and their relationship does seem very easy!!
Lindsay is sooo cute!! But eating bugs?! Absolutely not! I gagged just watching it!! I do love that they are both adventurous and enjoy that together though!
First time in a while on this show that there is actually 2 great choices in the end!! Can't wait to see how it all ends and hear all about how things have been for Sean(and his lucky lady!)since filming ended!

Where do the girls who get rejected go when they get into the limo and drive away?
Michelle Nobbe says
I loved Ashlee too! I hope we see your family along with your parents in Thailand!

Love your take on the show! I was pulling for AshLee but it seems she was a little too intense and serious for him. Catherine is growing on me. Can't wait to try your lemon whoopie pie recipe!

Just stumbled across your blog.. looking forward to reading more 🙂
Angela Ellingson says
I so made Mac and Trees for my family for lunch yesterday! 🙂 Love your recaps and really hope your family made it to Thailand! Can't wait for the finale! xo
Mindy says
I totally know it isn't the point of this post but because I love them so much, I must say I agree that whoopie pies can indeed fix almost anything! <3
Angela Ellingson says
Oh, do you know if they put your Good Morning Texas recap online? That would be fun to watch.
Ashley Barnhill says
I was wondering if you were going to be on the final episode!! Can't wait to see your family on TV in two weeks. And I'm dying to hear what Tierra has to say next week – what a train wreck!
Gayle says
As much as I want Lindsay to be chosen, she's been my favorite all along, there's just something about Catherine that keeps me thinking she's the one for him. IDk…I guess we'll find out. I can't wait to see who the letter is from in the finale. It sounds like it's going to be a lemon whoopie pie kind of day. 🙂

I adore your brother and am so happy he wasn't announced for dwts! It seems that in this age of fame seekers he is a truly stand-up guy who does just want normalcy!!
BrittM says
So very sad to see AshLee go home, but I agree with you, AshLee for Bachelorette 2013! She was the only one who seemed like she brought any real substance to the relationship. Lindsay seems way too immature and speaks in baby talk, and Catherine never looks Sean in the eyes when they talk, which scares me. But alas, what do I know? This should be interesting. And I hope you all got to go to Thailand with the kiddos. What an amazing ride for you all!
Maureen W. (Maryland) says
I swear, watching the Bachelor/ette is like re-living every break-up/rejection I have ever had. But, that's part of life and "the broken road" … I feel sad for AshLee, but know God has a plan for her just like everyone else. I still see Lindsay as the easy, safe choice, long-term. I just don't see long-term potential with Catherine – her leaving her mom and grandmother? living in the Dallas suburbs shuttling kids around to pre-school and soccer? And, oh yeah, most of Mix and Match Mama's recipes call for shredded chicken or sausage … I guess she could always just eat bundt cake and family gatherings 🙂
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
I loved Ashlee too, until he let her go and she got all crazy-eyes on him. that's a look I think he'd have seen a lot in their lifetime together. #bunnyboiler
And lol about jumping in feet first…I asked my husband, "when we were dating, if I hadn't wanted to eat a bug, swim into a dark cave, or flip off a boat, would that have been a deal-breaker for you?!?!"
excited to see cute little you next week…and your cute outfit! 🙂
Angela says
I am torn between Catherine and Lindsey. I know both are amazing girls…can't wait to see! Those lemon whoopie pies look soooo good! I need to try them! 🙂
JenetFuller says
I liked Ashlee but I never thought she was going to win – maybe it was because I wasn't a fan of her voice… I also heard a rumor that Sean is going to be on Dancing with the Stars- is it true?? I think they announce today so I guess we'll all find out!

What always confuse me about this show is: there is 25 people so there is eh… 4% chance you will get picked? And yet there is always one (…Sarah etc) who find their sending home as a personal attack.
So weird.
If I was on the show I would go;there is a 4% chance I will win and 96% I doesnt, better be ready that I might get sent home any week. Thats why I don't understand people like Ashlee – who was my favorite, how they can be so suprised.
It's a dating show so they must know there might be someone better suited for the one they compete for.
Anyway, im glad this show is in America, in Sweden – with all our crazy feminism – they would probably sue the show.
Hannah Heres says
Poor Ashlee…I really liked her until she got that crazy look on her face when he didn't give her a rose. I guess she was in shock..but still, kinda creepy! Hopefully her dad doesn't come after Sean, haha! Also, can't wait to see yall in Thailand!
The Dose of Reality says
Can't wait to see if Tierra shares any of these gems next week! 😉 And we cannot wait for the finale…our pick has been Catherine from the beginning! 🙂

Like others have mentioned, I was sad to see AshLee go, too. But then she threw the crazy "dagger eyes" at Sean! =/ Note to AshLee – never put your heart ALL out there before you're married. Guys need a challenge! Hope to see you in Thailand!

Love your blog, and if I were not trying to lose weight, I would make every single recipe posted! Once these pounds are shed, you better believe, I will be allowing myself a few extra calories here and there!
As this Bachelor season ends, I wanted to express my sincere hope that your brother finds happiness; he certainly deserves it. Both women are wonderful, but I think Catherine is a little more mature. Both have the playful side. When ABC ran the previews for the finale, they only showed your Mom and Dad. Then I started thinking, were you even in Thailand, at that time? What would be more fitting, then to have you write the letter to Sean? You initially wrote to get him on the show, and now your words of wisdom and love would see him through to the end. I think that would be the ultimate blessing for him. My second thought was the letter came from your Mom. Your brother has carried himself with class and dignity throughout both journeys. This is a testament to your whole family, and it shines through. One that all of us should take notes from, going forward. Let us not forget the fun and laughter too! God bless you all.

Shay, oh, how can I say this! I feel so conflicted about this season's Bachelor. Only reason I watched last time was because I knew Wolf's mom and uncle from my HS and college days and was intrigued. Of course, Sean was a favorite so I had to continue on watching. Like many, I know who wins and I am just so concerned. I was 30 when I got married, and like Sean, and from what I see he is this way, was very disciplined, family oriented, and had a strong faith. I met this guy who was a ton of fun, edgy, and carefree and I fell in love. We are still married almost 20 years later, but it hasn't been easy. Our different lifestyles have been challenging and our families are VERY different. This did not start becoming apparent until we had children. This is where my main concern comes in. Despite what anyone says, getting along well with your spouses family is so important and when I see friends whose families are similar and get along so well it makes me sad. My mom is good friends w/ all my siblings in-laws moms, but not mine as much. They are polite to each other but have nothing in common. It also makes me sad for my children who are now teenagers. With my family they see tradition and the value of family, with their dads, they see lots of "stuff". While I like my M-I-L, we are so different and never will be able to form a bond(she used to laugh at how I put big bows in my daughters hair, said I was trying to act like the Kennedy's
. Your brother won't even have a F-I-L to spend time with. I don't know Shay, just putting in my two cents. Maybe it is different for women. Blessings to you and your family.
Melissa Miennert says
I was also really sad when AshLee got sent home. I really thought she was the most mature, lined up morally with Sean, and was the one. I really think she opened up the most and let Sean in. It was obvious, without a doubt that she loved Sean. So, it was sad to see her get rejected. Can't help but pray for comfort and strength for her. It is refreshing this season to see some moral integrity and character. Blessings to Sean and the one he chooses to spend forever with. He's done an excellent job on the way he has handled many situations this season and it is obviously that he is prayfully considered each step of the way. Excited to see how everything unfolds in Thailand.

Love you blog, Shay!! All your food is so yummy and beautiful too!! I will making SOO many of these. It's not often I find a food blog where I want to make EVERYTHING!
Regarding your Bachelor post… Ever since the Glacier date, I've been falling more and more in love with Catherine. She is so cute, sweet and fun. There chemistry and friendship is obvious and love that big smile! Love her! I could tell Ashlee was going home, a bit too serious and not the adventurous type Sean's been looking for, but seriously sweet and wonderful person! Lindsey and Sean do have some great chemistry too. I agree that these are the two best girls we've ever had at the end and know Sean will make the best choice for him! There have been some GREAT girls on this season.

I wasn't wanting this to get posted or anything because I don't want to give away your secret…buuuut I'm pretty sure you did fly to Thailand!! (At least I hope so!) You tend to leave little clues about things in your blog (your special birthday trip to St. Croix), so I did some blog rereading and found this little post:

i-Phone Life: thankful for Christmas stuff
Well…hello there. I've been…um…away recently and have missed you :). I'm jet-lagged and in a fog but woke up this morning to Christmas music on my local radio station and a house already decked out in tinsel and lights…I feel really blessed."
I really hope you were jet-lagged from your trip to Thailand! It would be great to see you and your parents all there supporting Sean. Can't wait to find out if my suspicions are correct! 🙂

I love your recaps, Shay! It is so fun to get an inside look into the Bachelor craziness. Do you think the contestants get pressured about saying I love you? I imagine they must get asked in their interviews repeatedly and I just wonder if they feel like they HAVE to say it? Also, have your kids started calling Sean, "This Man"?
mel @ the larson lingo says
Last night episode was intense….although AshLee is super sweet, I agree, not the one for Sean, her look at the end last night confirmed that. YOWZA. That was quite the exit. Can't WAIT until the finale in 2 weeks….AHHHH!!!! The preview have me on the edge of my seat!!!
Lins @ Country Roots City Living says
I love reading your recaps! My mom and I have our recap discussions every Tuesday. She usually doesn't watch the show but Sean caught her eye! 🙂 I love that he has stayed what seems to be true to himself and values when he was on Emily's season and now on his. I also love how you post what recipes remind you of the dates. I LOVE to cook and bake so it gives me new ideas! 🙂

I was so sad to see AshLee go home! I would have loved to have a SIL in like as well. Miss Lindsay is truly America's sweetheart. I am so jealous that you probably got to meet her! Best wishes to you and your family on gaining a new family member.

Love your recaps! My sweet friend told me she nominated me to be on the Bachelor before she knew it was Sean…her application was too late to be considered …too bad because I absolutely adore your brother! Best of luck to him!

Catherine and Sean's relationship is like 80's romantic movie, Hunk meets a Nerd ( although she is gorgeous and not knowing it ). Its very refreshing to watch them together!

It is so fun to read your blog! Sean is the best bachelor there has ever been. I normally can't watch a whole season, but watching this season has been so fun! Happy to see such a wholesome (and hunky – ask Catherine would say) guy up there!

Shay! I love reading your recaps! This is the first season of The Bachelor that I have really invested my emotions in, and I have to say I really, really like Sean! What a great guy! You should be so proud of your baby bro!
BTW, I made your Chocolate Peanut Butter Neiman Marcus Bars, and they were a hit, sister! Let me tell you what a hero I was after making those! I even featured them on my website, http://www.iPinnedIt.com. You can see them here: http://ipinnedit.com/recipes/chocolate-peanut-butter-neiman-marcus-bars/

Shay, Like the "inside track" on your blog! I was VERY sad and surprised to see him send Ashlee home. It was obvious that they connected on a spiritual level and it was deeper than kissing and sexual chemistry. I really thought she would be a good fit and just down to earth and real, but I think she was missing the "fun" he was seeking.
I don't know who he will end up with – I'm chosing not to look at Reality Steve, but I'm not crazy about either.
I hope you guys give him GREAT advice to him in Thailand and choses the right girl for him for eternity. I hope he finds one that has the same Christian values he does.
Here's to watching!!

I've began a Leangains-type regime determined by your posts and Martin's website, but haven't totally moved into the fasted workout, consuming BCAA drinks, and so forth., mildew and most likely won't.
(see Martin's internet site along with the fasted exercise submit) So far, I'm actually enjoying
the lifting, as I was getting fed up with
my modified Body By Science regime and my gains there have been slowing way down.
Deadlift exercise tonight, and I'm hunting ahead to it!
