I adore me some Gwyneth Paltrow. I first fell in love with her onscreen in some of my favorite films…but now, I’m in love with her as an author.
I bought her first cookbook My Father’s Daughter two years ago when it first came out and loved it immediately. I only brought a handful of cookbooks with me to the rent house this year…and it was one of them. What I love most about the book is its story telling. You’re not just getting recipes, you’re getting autobiographical anecdotes as well…and I love that!
So, when her new cookbook came out this April, I pre-ordered it in advance to get my copy as soon as possible…
…It’s All Good is Gwyneth’s book of recipes and stories on how she tries to serve her family the cleanest, healthiest food possible…most of the time.
The book contains high protein, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy free, and elimination diet meals. The emphasis of the book is that she doesn’t eat like this all the time…but most of the time. And that is the philosophy I just love! I feel like life is about moderation and enjoying food…and that’s what she says too.
I really found this book inspiring and happy. She celebrates food, creates delicious meals (that just happen to be good for you) and shares how she enjoys the fellowship of mealtime the most.
The people I think who would enjoy this book the most are foodies, people who enjoy spending time in the kitchen and are adventurous cooks, people looking to eliminate processed food from their diets and people that are interested in learning more about clean eating.
Most of all, if you enjoy story telling with your recipes, and really want to learn the stories behind her food, you will absolutely enjoy this book.
I fell in love with her first book…and now with the second book. I hope a third book is in her future too.
Happy Friday!

Thanks for this review, Shay! Been debating buying the book for a few weeks. Have you tried any of the recipes yet? I've heard mixed things, so would love to hear your thoughts!

I now really want to get my hands on both of these books! I liked what she said about the new book in SELF the other month, and I should try the sampling of recipes she shared there. sidenote, I did not like her Iron Man 3 premiere dress!

Okay…now I want those cookbooks…and we all know you don't need a cookbook to make tacos, pork tenderloin and baked potatoes, or a shrimp boil. The standard meals around these parts.

I couldn't agree with you more…I love her philosophy on cooking. Her first book truly had recipes that the kids could help out with. There are at least four favorites that my kids and I make together often. I haven't picked up a copy of her knew book but its on the list.
