Merry Wednesday!
I was going through my phone and found some little pics of things we’ve been doing lately, so I’m sharing them with you. It’s your basic fa la la la randomness :).
Smith and I have been getting to the gym early lately so that he can “work out” and help me set up my station for my class. We have so much fun playing together in my class before my fellow gym rats show up for our class.
I love that kid.
On this day, he set up some “hurdles” to jump over as his “work out”.
Those dimples kill me.
Sheaffer called me the other day and said I must try this pie at Emporium Pies called Father Christmas. She said it was life changing and that I must try it that very day. So, I did. (Because when Pinterest Told Me To tells you what to do, you listen!) It was actually the perfect little moment to enjoy…I was alone, it was cold outside, the little pie place was pretty empty, and I had a piece of pie and coffee while watching our little town square out the window. And listen…it was a life changing piece of pie. A chocolate graham cracker crust, a cream cheese peppermint filling topped with whipped cream. Heaven.
I officially have three car seats in my car and a kid on the third row…and he LOVES it! He calls the third row “my little space” and he happily goes back there and enjoys being away from Kensington (who will soon be sitting next to Ashby in the middle row).
Woohoo!! I received an advance copy of Boo Mama’s new book and I’m already in love. I can’t wait to let you know what I think about it. She is an amazing writer and such a sweet and encouraging friend.
Because she’s just so cute.
This year, our Sunday school class Christmas party was at our house (we take turns with the location each year), so Andrew and I removed all of the furniture and rugs from our family room and put in tables and chairs instead. This was actually so easy and worked out really well! We carried everything to the garage, Andrea’s husband got us tables, chairs and tablecloths for the night and bam, it was done!
For the food, we catered pizza from a local restaurant where they actually bring their wood burning oven to your location and make your pizzas to order. Each person received a custom pizza and dessert pizza. So. much. fun!
The girls 🙂
The boys 🙂
We ran into the “BIG” sign in Dallas and I took a pic of Smith. The last time we saw the sign, he was three…
My baby is getting so…well…big.
And then the other day, this scarf I ordered arrived and I immediately opened the box in my foyer, put on the scarf and snapped a pic in my foyer mirror for Sheaffer. Isn’t it lovely?!?! It’s so thick and cozy and pretty too! I liked it so much that I really want the oxblood color too (I’m wearing the stone color and it’s also available in charcoal). The coldest months of the year are still ahead of us, so I’m preparing with my chunky knit scarf.
And then the next day, I wore it out and about…
Smith was the Star Student at school this week…I just love his little answers :).
I went into Smith’s room one day and he was doing this…I asked what was up and he said he was “fishing with his friends”. Boys.
We made our annual gingerbread house this week…we always get a boxed kit to make things simple and unfortunately, one kid (who shall remain unnamed) dropped the box out of excitement…so our house was a broken up mess. That didn’t stop us though! We had a blast putting it together.
Hmmm…not exactly award winning but built out of love and Christmas cheer.
And the last bit of randomness for today…
…my Christmas Morning Menu is up on the foodie blog today! Easy recipes for your big breakfast on the big day!
XOXO

Speaking of randomness, I saw this video and knew I had to share it with you! I remember you saying you have Taylor's new cd AND it talks about Starbucks. Enjoy! http://blog.thebump.com/2014/12/11/tired-moms-blank-space-parody-is-an-internet-hit-video/

Fishing with nunchucks…rad. I had an awesome vision of Smith (and Yoda) whacking fish over the heads. 🙂

Love your random post. How cool that you can easily move out your furniture and set up for a big party! Looks like it was a lot of fun. 🙂

So let me get this straight…if I actually worked out, my legs might someday kind of resemble yours??? that's motivation right there. Nevermind, I'd rather eat that pie! 😉

What a FUN post! And I love the story of the gingerbread house….I bet out of all of the ones you've made (and will make) that one will be remembered because of the story behind it. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

Hi Shay: I have been reading and enjoying your Blogs for a little over a year. You are an inspiration in so many ways, and it's really helpful to busy moms like myself to see you juggle everything and also live your life with such love, integrity, faith and discipline too. (I am still trying to wake up earlier every day to get stuff done before my kids wake up 🙂 On another note, I have loved seeing photos of your new home and can't stop wondering what your family room wall paint color is! I am sure this sounds odd, but we are trying to select paint colors for our home, so I have been thinking about this topic a lot lately, and I love the color of your living area walls. So, there you have it, I am a fan of your Blog, your Recipes, your Faith and Integrity, and your Wall Paint :). (Just wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your wall paint colors.) Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Love the photos of you and Smith at the gym…. nothing like being silly with your "baby" boy!! And it looks like you had the perfect setup for your Christmas party!! Glad y'all had fun!

That Father Christmas pie is amazing. I had it a few weeks ago and it was life changing. What more does one need than pie and coffee?

WoW!!! Looks like so much fun. I was wondering where did you purchase your garland and what kind of hardwood flooring do you have? We are looking for a darker wood with big planks. Your house is stunning. 🙂
Thanks so much.

Hi Shay!
I absolutely LOVE the red jacket and leopard shoes you are wearing in the picture with your infinity scarf. Can you tell me what brand they are? I apologize if you have already covered this. Hope it's not an "It's call Saint Germain!" question that you have already talked about a hundred times. 🙂
Thanks!!!

Oh, that picture of Smith fishing with his friends is priceless! My son is almost 17 months and I just love seeing his "little boy" personality coming out <3 I'm a little nervous about having a baby girl at the end of February now that I have gotten so used to raising a boy!
