Today, I’m talking all about my favorite kind of bars…Neiman Marcus. Some people call them Gooey Butter Bars, some people call them Gooey Cakes…but here in North Texas (the home of Neiman Marcus), we call them Neiman Marcus Bars…probably because they’re so rich :).
My Grandmother gave me her recipe for Neiman Marcus Bars when I was in high school because they were my favorite. I made them for years and years and years the traditional way. One day, I decided to put a spin on the original and mixed and matched them into Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars…and well, I couldn’t stop.
I love, love, love recipes like this because they are basic methods that can switched around and recreated hundreds of different ways. Over the years, I have turned this basic method into a bar for every holiday and occasion…and every day in-between. These bars are always easy, always delicious and always eaten up at my house.
Right now on my blog, I have about 30 different varieties (and still more to come!). If you haven’t ever made one, now is the time. Enjoy!
Here are a few of my favorites…
