This year, I’m going to be linking up to Andrea every other Tuesday for her Show and Tell Tuesdays :). Andrea was telling me about this idea way back in December and I just love, love, loved it, so I’m super happy to be participating today. I missed the first few due to our trip to China, but I’m here now.
Just so you know, here is what’s coming up this year on Show and Tell Tuesdays…
Today, she’s asking us to pick our Groundhog Day…you know, that day that you would pick to do over and over and over again (like the movie Groundhog Day).
I thought long and hard about this…because if I’m saying I would do this day over and over again for the rest of my life, it needs to be a good one.
A little disclaimer…the day I picked does not have Ashby in it. I picked a day from 2013 (before we adopted), so please indulge me in saying that I would pick this day but would include Ashby. We’re pretending, right? Let’s pretend Ashby can be with us too :).
The day I would repeat over and over again is
December 6, 2013.
This ended up being such a great day for several reasons:
1. When it snows in North Texas, we shut things down. No school, no work, no leaving your house…all fun.
2. It was at the beginning of the Christmas season, so our house was decorated, we had holiday movies to watch, a tree in our living room, cocoa to drink, Christmas goodies to bake, carols to listen to…it was so nice. Typically, our snow days fall in January and February, so it was super festive to have one before Christmas.
3. The four of us (we’re going to pretend that it would be the five of us if this day was on repeat) played in the snow, sat by the fire, baked cookies, and stayed cozy all day.
It was the perfect day :).
This would be my Groundhog Day.
I was with my family.
My house was decorated for Christmas.
I ate cookies.
I didn’t have to get out of my sweats or put on makeup.
It was cozy.
There you have it! To read the full post and see other pics, click here.
In two weeks, Show and Tell is about how we met our mate and got engaged…ahhh..here’s a brief bit…I ended up paying for our engagement dinner myself :). You’ll have to come back to hear the rest.
Thanks Andrea! I can’t wait to read all of them!
Don’t forget my foodie blog today…
…my Mexican Minestrone.
Tomorrow, I’m blogging about our first month with Ashby. See you then!
XO

We had the most amazing snow day yesterday and it's definitely a day I would love to re-live. If I could change one thing though it would be before Christmas. Am I the only one who appreciates snow more during the Christmas season?! Haha 🙂
Looking forward to reading your engagement story at the next link up 🙂

Again with the soul sisters, thing!!! 🙂 I soooooooooooo want a snow day again…. but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm considering "snowing in" my family one weekend coming up… fake snow, cocoa, jammies, etc. If it's not giong to snow for real, I may have to take matters into my own hands. hahaha Love you, friend!!!

Your snow day sounds wonderful! I went back and read your rat post and I'm absolutely horrified. You guys handled that like champs! And the person with the snake infestation…..just kill now. Just the though makes me feel sick. I'd have to move. Like out of the state. No way!

Love today's post and I must agree this way a perfect day! I live not too far from you and we did pretty much the same thing and I still remember those snowy days like they were yesterday.

What a great day! We don't get many days in Ohio where it is warm enough to play in the snow on a snow day. It is usually in the negatives 🙁
I can't wait to hear about your story with Andrew! I actually asked my husband out on our first date and paid! lol!

Our ground hog day would be my sons 10th and 6th birthdays. We had the opposite weather LOL we live in miami but had the same heart, a day of family and friends. We celebrated it at Boomers, which is now closed, and we had so much fun! My husband and I both got to do a special ride with each of the kids on our own…when I close my eyes all I see are smiling faces, sunshine and wind. Best day.

Shay! I just adore your blog! My family and I live 20 miles north of Boston, and this is our second snow day in a row! My daughter's Pre-K has been cancelled for the second Tuesday in a row! She told me today that she loves being home with me, but that she can't wait to get back to playing with her friends!

We had the best snow day on Monday. The Patriots won the Super Bowl with 20 seconds left on the clock! Then no school or work on Monday. We slept in, went sledding, made crafts and had mix and match mama pancakes for breakfast. It really was an awesome day!
