We are jalapeno people. We like them spicy, candied, jarred, pickled, any way we can get them. So chopped up in a burger and then topped with cheese and cool sour cream just works for us. For all of us spicy people out there…this burger needs to be on our grill this weekend.
This recipes makes four (half pound) burgers.
Shopping List
2 pounds of ground beef
a little steak seasoning (we used Montreal Steak Seasoning)
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 jalapenos, chopped (optional: remove the seeds for less heat)
4 thick slices of cheddar cheese
Either deli or candied jalapenos to go on top
Sour cream to garnish

Burger buns
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat.
Add about two tablespoons of your steak seasoning to the ground beef along with your chopped bell pepper and chopped jalapenos. Divide mixture into four sections and make four patties (make sure to press down each patty a little in the center to avoid the “burger bulge” when they grill).
Add your burgers to the grill and begin grilling (we do about 6 minutes or so each side).
About a minute before your burgers are done, top each burger with cheddar. Once the cheese is melted, remove from grill.
To serve, take each bun, add your burger patty and top with either jarred deli jalapenos (for some heat) or jarred candied jalapenos (for a little sweetness). Top with creamy sour cream to cool things off.
Serve and enjoy.
This is my jalapeno eating machine right here! She’s waiting for me to be finished taking pictures so that she can pop jalapenos in her mouth like they’re popcorn. This girl has a crazy love of all things spicy :).
