Here’s a little life lately for your Thursday…I don’t know about you…but I could really get used to these four day weeks :).
Ashby had a check-up at our pediatrician’s office and did such a great job!
Side note, as you can see, our pediatrician has flowers, animals and whatnot painted on the walls. I pointed to a raccoon and asked Ashby “what’s this?” hoping she would say something close to a raccoon…and she said, “the wall”. That funny kid :).
Ahhhh! I’m such a big girl!
Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles…we do a lot of puzzles!
I took Bowen and Ashby to the park while the big girls were at dance and the big boys were at baseball practice. At one point, Bowen said, “Miss Shay, I love you” and then I melted into a puddle.
On Fridays, Erika and I have been volunteering at the kids’ school and then taking the two little kids on a walk and to the park. These two are loving our new Friday routine! (And so am I!!!)
After school, I surprised the big kids with a trip to Starbucks. We chatted about their day and enjoyed a little treat. Love these kiddos!
Chillin’ with my big girl!
Andrew and Smith spent the day doing boy stuff on Sunday after church, so I spent the day with the girls. We have a Starbucks really close to our house, so we enjoyed a little outing to get yet another treat (listen…I am fully aware of my Starbucks addiction), and then sat out by this lake with our cake pops and enjoyed the late afternoon.
Reading a cute little book and watching my very favorite movie…all while in bed. It was the perfect evening.
Labor Day lunch with my three sweet kids (and that cute hubby of mine who was getting our food at the time). We had such a nice day together!
We finished off our day swimming with the Slaughters! What a wonderful end to such a fantastic summer!
Popsicles on the driveway :).
On Tuesday, Ashby started her first day of pre-school :). You guys, she was SO EXCITED!! She’ll be doing the same two day a week program my big kids did and her first day was a huge success!
She was so pumped that she insisted on carrying all of her stuff to my car herself. Backpack, check. Lunchbox, check. Nap mat, check. Happy girl, check!!
After I dropped her off at school, I somehow found myself kid-free and at Williams-Sonoma with Starbucks in hand. I’m not sure how that happened…but it was glorious :).
And thanks to all of you for the drink suggestions! My new favorite is Pike or Blonde with one pump of pumpkin spice and just a splash of half and half. Thank you coffee lovers for the tip!
Speaking of Starbucks, on Tuesday night, we had our annual scarf exchange. We couldn’t remember if this was the fourth or fifth year of this tradition…but it’s always one of our favorites. We all meet at Starbucks with wrapped scarves (I wrapped mine in foil this year) and then draw numbers and pick/keep/trade/steal. It’s such a fun tradition and a night we laugh about all year long. Plus, we all walk away with a super cute new scarf. If you aren’t into scarves, your friends could do an earring exchange, necklace exchange, book exchange, nail polish exchange…go nuts :).
That’s life lately.
Tomorrow, a little giveaway :).
And tonight…
Yum!
Annnnnnd…
…I just saw that every single thing at Loft is 40% off with promo code fallstyle including this cute top above (which I wore twice last week!)…and…

"The wall". Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! My first 3 years of doing speech in McKinney, I was the SLP for the pre-k classes at a couple of different schools. Every year I would do several units on prepositions. I would get objects, I would place them "in" "on" and "under", and I would teach the kids the signs that went with the positions. It was always one of my favorite units, but every single time I would start the units and I would ask "Where is the ball?" or "Where is the bear?"…..I would ALWAYS get the answer "right there" as they pointed to it and looked at me like I was crazy! (There was also the one year that I put the pencil "UNDER" the frog and asked the student where the pencil was and he said "Up his butt".) Awesome. 🙂

I love them too! Nordstrom sold them at the beginning of the summer but only for a hot second. They sold out fast and never restocked.

Love that idea for the coffee! I mostly drink mine black or with an occasional splash of milk/cream as well. I'm all about pumpkin spice though, so I've been ordering the latte with just 2 pumps of syrup to cut back on the sweetness. I think your coffee/syrup/cream option may be a good daily go-to option for me!

My girlfriends and I have been doing a Dirty Santa Scarf Party every year for the last 5 or 6 years and we LOVE it! We do the same thing as you guys – draw numbers and then open/steal/trade, and we do ours in early December. It's one of my very favorite Christmas traditions!

I really look forward to your daily blog. It makes my heart smile to see pix of your beautiful children and a little insight into your daily life. You keep it fun and entertaining and it really is a treat in the middle of my day. Speaking of treats – your cake pop treat just happens to be the same color as the polish on your toes! What is the name of that color? I love it!

Hi Shay!
What is that light on your book you were reading in the dark? Can you please share where to buy? I needed one on our late night road trip over labor day to read my book I ordered because I ran into a post where you mentioned your girlfriend's book Nobody's cuter than you!
