Leaves, football, sweaters AND SCARVES!


This time of year, I find myself singing like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music…you know, because this is the season full of my favorite things.  
So because of that, each year I do a post on some of my favorite things…and there is always, always, always a scarf post.
I love scarves…

This is a round up of my favorite scarves…plaid, leopard, neutral, fringe, solid, infinity and more!
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and lots of scarves because it makes me happy….
This is the third year that the fringe scarf has been out…and it’s always one of my favorites.  They keep bringing it back because it just works…it’s infinity and once you put it on, it kind of just does it own thing.  This year, they have it out in 7 different colors.

And speaking of things that come out each year…this is the third year that they’ve had my leopard scarf out.  A leopard scarf is my love language :).
Last year, I bought this plaid scarf.  I love this one because it’s plaid (which looks fallish) but it’s light…so you can wear it early in the season when it’s not super cold.  I wore it earlier this week too with a sleeveless top…
…and it just kind of looks like fall without being heavy like fall.
This year, I bought this plaid scarf which I’m in looove with!  The colors are so pretty and I think it’s going to work from fall all the way to the beginning of spring.  It’s not an infinity scarf but on this occasion, I just tied the ends together (the other day, I wore it untied…it works both ways).  So pretty!
And because (as you know), I’m plaid crazy…I bought two scarves from the men’s department at Gap because they are FABULOUS!  I was looking at the women’s scarves and they were okay but when I saw these two over in the men’s department they just screamed “hey lady, buy us!”…
I mean, look at this green and black based on!  Isn’t it too good for words?!?!  And then I bought this one too…
…because it screams wear me at Christmas :). 
(And pssssst: that black tee is one of my new faves too!  This little tee comes in 10 different colors and is totally soft and comfy!  Love, love, love it!  Plus, it’s under $30!)

 And then the other scarf I bought this season was this navy and burgundy one…and I’m tempted to get the navy and green too :).  My shipment hasn’t arrived because this scarf is on back order…but when it does, expect to see me in it pretty much every day.

    I was all ready to comment on my favorite scarf (which is the fringe infinity by the way), but now I'm feeling like I need to cancel all of my plans today and kidnap Erika and force her to watch Sound of Music. HOW CAN SHE NEVER HAVE SEEN SOUND OF MUSIC???? I'm off to buy a ski mask.

    I am a scarf hoarder too. How do you store your scarves? I have mine hanging on shower curtain rings and displayed on a tie hanging system but that means I always have to steam the middle of my scarves before I can wear them. Always looking for a more clever way to display mine!

      I fold them and put them on my closet shelf. Before I had a bigger closet, I used the scarf hangers (sold at the Container Store). They work well too!

      I'm a scarf "collector" too and I store mine in bins, wrap them into a ball or just shove them in….they come out to wrinkled perfection. 🙂

    Love those scarves! And I like you even more now that I know you're a sound of music gal! My mama sang that song to me every night at bedtime for the first 9 (we'll just leave it at 9 ;)) years of my life. Such a great movie- your friend Erika needs to watch!!

    I just got a new red and black buffalo plaid scarf and it is absolute perfection. I wish I could wear it every single day.

    I was in Europe in September and I found myself wearing that leopard scarf from Nordstrom and eating schnitzel. I thought "Shay would either be so proud right now, or so creeped out by the amount that I love her!" Let's hope it's the former 😉

    Oh my gosh – I am so a scarf person also. My friends think I am crazy wearing a scarf in the summer to work but they are light summer scarves and they make me feel dressed up for work. I love them ! !

    OK- I LOVE scarves – but how they heck do you tie them? I they all look so effortlessly thrown around your neck- mine never look that way! How do you get the non infinity ones to stay looped around your neck like they are infinity? Any hints, youtue videos?

    I bought the navy/burgundy scarf (that was on back order). It arrived yesterday and I'm wearing it today! It's fantastic! Super soft and the perfect length for looping (some scarves are too small and I feel like I'm being choked!)
    Thank you for the scarf suggestion! I knew there was a reason (among several others) that I read your blog!
