Friday Favorites


Woohoo!  It’s Friday!

I always keep a little sticky note on my desk and I jot down my favorites for the week and somehow this week, I had to use TWO sticky notes.  I just had too many favorite things to share, so today is a SUPERSIZED version of Friday Favorites!.  Grab your coffee (or tea!) and settle in.  It’s going to be a fantastic Friday :).

Right out of the gate…this dress…

…I love this dress!  It’s tweed and it’s sleeveless, so basically, it works year around, right?  Add a jacket and it’s fall or winter (because it’s tweed), remove the jacket and it’s spring or summer (because it’s sleeveless).  Now, Nordstrom has asked me before to share my favorite brands from their store and this is an easy one.  It’s actually one of my favorite Nordstrom secrets…they sell J.Crew.  What?  Yes.  I think it was like a year ago that Nordstrom started selling so many pieces right from J.Crew which means, if you order it from Nordstrom and not J.Crew, then you don’t have to pay for shipping.  Yes.  Let that sink in.  Order it from Nordstrom and your shipping and returns are free.  I love you J.Crew but I prefer not to pay for my shipping.

So, there are several other favorite things in this one photo above like…these shoes…

…are the ones I wore on Hallmark Home & Family (and by the way, my dress is now 30% off!) and my ring, I’ve been wearing every single day for about 6 weeks now.  It’s a Tory Burch ring and it just seems to go with everything.  And this leads us to favorite number 2…

…my nail polish.  So, my favorite light/white colors are OPI’s Alpine Snow (it’s basically white), OPI’s Let’s All Be Friends (which is really hard to find these days) and then this one, OPI’s Let Me Bayou a Drink.  Dress, shoes, ring and light polish…everything I love!

Speaking of dresses, I wore this one on Wednesday to speak at a moms group…

…remember this one?  I bought it last summer and wore it all.the.time.  So, I put it on this week to wear it again (with that new denim jacket I love so much and that necklace I keep wearing) and saw that it’s still in stock!  The red and navy is sold out but there are several other colors to chose from.  This one is so soft and comfy!  You’ll see me wearing it a ton this year too.

March Book Review

…did you read my March Book Review?!  You guys left the best recommendations in the comment section and I ordered three new books. If you missed , go back and read it!  I read seven really good books this month that I think you’ll love too!

…bow heads in our family!

My brother and Catherine have been working on a furniture line for a long time now and yesterday, it debuted!  We are so, so, so proud of them!!  Want to know what our family’s favorite piece is???  Right here…

And don’t think I’m crazy…but lately, I’ve been buying a cover up or two.  I’m pretty sure all of my swimsuits are fine from last year, so I bought two new cover ups for this year to throw over them along with the cutest pair of flip flops (because I basically live in that three months out of the year).  Look at this cute cover up…

…isn’t it fun?!  It comes in white too but I really liked this tie dye blue!

And my new flip flops just make me HAPPY!  They’re Tory Burch flip flops and they come in seven different colors.  I bought the spring/ivory pattern.   I also bought this black romper cover up but it hasn’t arrived yet.  I cannot wait until summer!!

And speaking of things I’ll wear all summer long.  Outfits like this are always on repeat in my closet…

Basic tee, denim shorts, fun necklace, favorite ring and of course, that light polish 🙂 .

(And FYI: the denim shorts look way lighter online than in person!)

    That dress is absolutely precious on you!!!!! And YES to the J Crew pieces WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY SHIPPING!!!! I love J Crew…but I detest shipping. Now if Anthro and LOFT would start collabs with Nordstrom, I’d be all set! 🙂

    I started listening to Jamie’s podcast the last time you had announced you were on it! I LOVE it! Also, I usually do bright nail polishes on my nails, but have been doing light ones lately too!! I will have to check out your colors..you can never have too many nail polishes ?

    I am SO SO GLAD you said that about the shorts! I was about to buy them from Shaeffer’s post but the photo on Nordstrom’s site is soooo light, I figured they’d sold out of your/her color! I LOVE THEM! Too many denim shorts (and all shorts..) these days are skin tight noooooo thank you haha!

    I bet Kensington was just tickled pink over the sofa!! How do you keep your nails looking so good? I have to sit still for a half hour after painting mine to keep from messing them up and they always chip within a day or two. Any tips/tricks to share? Yes!!! to free shipping. I will definitely order more from a store if I don’t have to pay shipping!

      I use OPI base coat, two coats of the actual polish and then Essie’s top coat!

    I never have commented before but felt like it was important to share… you have to try OPI’s “Chiffon My Mind” — it is very similar to “Let’s be Friends” (which used to be my favorite) but has a beautiful shimmer to it! Just trust me, try it 😉

    Let’s all be friends is my FAVORITE! But sadly looks like it’s being discontinued(per my favorite nail lady) but today she did my nails with one coat of alpine snow then one coat of bubble bath and it’s almost identical to Let’s all be friends!! This was shellac but I’m guessing it would work with regular as long as u let it dry in between!! Pure MAGIC!!

    Hi Shea I have a question for you. I was wondering if you have a favorite? In two posts you have said “and this is why Ashby is my favorite” and in another one you said “and this is why Madeley is my favorite.” If you do have a favorite who is it and why them? I was just wondering because I am not used to parents having favorites.
