I’m not going to lie…I’m limping to the finish line this week. I’m feeling so much better, but that first part of the week kicked my rear. Needless to say, I’m VERY excited about the three day weekend we have coming up! Which leads me to today…Thursday things. I’m not doing Friday Favorites tomorrow because I’m posting something else, so today, is kind of a mini-Friday Favorites/random assortment of things post. Have the best day!
First up, remember a few weeks ago when I went on Home & Family? Well, the sweet girl who came to do my makeup busted this out…
…and I was like “ohhhhhhhh! I love this! Why haven’t I been using it lately?!”. I’ve blogged about my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick several times before, but mine ran out and then I tried something else and kind of forgot about it…but you know what? After she used it on me before Home & Family, I immediately ordered me a new one because it’s AMAZING. If you don’t believe me, read the the reviews. You apply as much or as little on your face and then slightly blend it in with either your fingers or a Beauty Blender. Love, love, love THIS! (For a reference, I wear the “Natural Tan” shade.)
Okay…so I was blending a drop of my Nars Hot Sand Illuminator into my tinted moisturizer or foundation, but with the stick, you can’t do that, so I have been blending a drop into this…
…my Clinique SPF before I add my Foundation Stick…
…a drop of SPF plus a drop of Illuminator before my Foundation Stick (or tinted moisturizer if I want something super light) and bam, I’m done! I just apply it with my fingers but you can totally use your Beauty Blender too.
Another favorite thing this week…
…I have a new office 🙂 .
Every day for the last two weeks, I have been working from my patio table during the afternoons when my girls are asleep. I turn on my music outside, bring coffee or tea with me and enjoy the beautiful weather. It’s going to be too hot to do this before too long, so I’m soaking it in now! (I’m actually typing this post from out there right this minute and it’s spectacular!)
Right now, I’m having a moment with these two Loft tops and bonus, right now, everything at Loft is 40% off. EVERYTHING!
I had several people ask me about this one, so here is a full length pic of it…
…I’m kind of obsessed with this top. The colors are just so pretty! And PS: my jeans are HERE and my sandals are HERE.
And then here’s another Loft top that I can’t stop wearing…
Prettttttty! I started the day with my denim jacket over it…
…and then as it warmed up, it was easy to remove the layer. This top is a keeper! And psssst: those darn wedges are my fave but they’re from last spring, so they’re sold out. My white jeans are HERE though. (I’ve told you about these white jeans before. They have stretch and they’re not thin! Exactly what you need in white jeans!)
We have been LIVING outside these days! Here I am on Friday afternoon eating popsicles with my peeps on the driveway. And then on Saturday…
…we went to the art fair on our town square! It was so much fun!
Just when I thought our little town couldn’t get more idyllic, it opened a gourmet popsicle shop. #winning
Love this guy so much 🙂
And these guys too!
If you’re looking for something to do with your kiddos this Easter weekend, why not make these…
…Resurrection Rolls are such a clever way to explain Easter to kids 🙂 .
So, that’s a little bit of this and that for your Thursday.
Have the BEST day!
xo

The art fair looks like so much fun! The link you shared for the dark jeans is coming up in an error – could you please relink? I have been on the hunt for jeans like that, that could work for both the office and for play.

It’s working now!! Happy Thursday, Emily!

I love this time of the year when you can spend time outside and it’s not too hot!

For the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick, do you blend with your fingers or a Beauty Blender? I’m trying to figure out the best way to get more coverage with it without making it seem cakey. Thanks, Shay. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Both! Typically, my fingers but if I think about it, my Beauty Blender! This morning, I used my Beauty Blender.

I want to try that makeup so bad but can’t decide a color! The one you wear looks really dark on the website! Do you stay pretty tan? Thanks for always sharing your faves!
Mix and Match Mama says
I use those Dr. Dennis Gross tanning towels on my face, so yes, I always have some color. It’s not nearly as dark though in person as it is online.

It’s a coral plaid flannel. You are wearing with the pearl necklace. Cam you share from where? The entire ensemble

I wish I could move my entire craft room out to the sunroom! But I have started to enjoy lunch by the pool every day (when it’s not rainy) so I can take a little break from that room! And I had no idea the square had a new shop! How fun is that!?! Glad you’re on the mend!

My family road tripped from MN to Texas to visit family (who recently moved to Houston) for our spring break this year. Our first road trip ever! In route, McKinney became our stop for the night. Hours before arrival we booked the new Sheraton off the freeway, which was great! Our stop was so comfortable because I knew about town as a regular reader of your fun blog and Scheafer too. We did visit the town square before departing! My kids also swam in the Sheraton outdoor pool, which no Texan would do late March!!! (Reminder – we are from Minnesota) Our next stop after McKinney was Magnolia Market in Waco. We had a GREAT trip. Thanks Texas for the memories!
Lizzie @ This Happy Life says
I need that foundation stick! Do you use a foundation primer at all? Loving those tops from Loft!
Mix and Match Mama says
That Clinique SPF doubles as a primer!!
Heather Bramelett says
I need to check out that foundation stick!! Does it give even coverage? I have a few “dark spots” from sun and pregnancy that need that “extra” coverage! Yuck….
Whitney Pegram says
I agree, those resurrection rolls are so clever & yummy too!!
Laura says
We were just at a gourmet popsicle place in St. Petersburg, FL. I thought it was so yummy!…although my kiddos still wanted the traditional ice cream cone. 🙁 How cute are you and your family…that little Madeley just gets me every time. So sweet! Blessings!
Diana says
Love your beauty and fashion recommendations! I’ve been using the Clinique moisture surge masque because of you! I read “It Ends With Us” and looooved it!! I’m a huge fan of your supper recipes too, they’re so easy, especially since I’m a first time mommy with a newborn, I need easy! Also, I am totally buying the Mavi denim jacket from Nordstrom, but for size reference, are you a xs or small size? I’m not sure if the jacket runs smaller or true to size 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought xs!
Megan Butler says
I was on the square on Saturday!!!! No!!! Wish I could have hugged your neck!! We were enjoying a girls weekend in Dallas and we headed to McKinney for a few hours or shopping and lunch!
Becky Carl says
I love your favorites and look so forward to them! And I’m making those resurrection rolls tonight, for once I have all the ingredients on hand! Happy Easter to you and your sweet family.
