It’s What’s Up Wednesday !
Once a month, my friends Mel, Sheaffer and I host this link up where we share some random and fun stuff that’s up with us today. If you blogged WUW too, make sure you link up at the bottom of the post! Every month, we answer these questions…
…in our What’s Up Wednesday posts!
We’re having a pretty great week! I can’t get enough of this gorgeous spring weather here in North Texas. I hope it’s a pretty day where you are too!
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
My Meal Planning Monday this week is perfect for the end of April. Something cozy, something SO EASY, something for breakfast, something your kids will love to make with you and more!
Five suppers, one sweet treat and a breakfast too. You and your family will love every single bite!
To see the whole meal plan, click HERE.
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
How much fun I had at the Wild for Planners conference! Those ladies were AMAZING!
3: What I’m loving:
I’m still loving those pajamas!! I’ve washed and dried them now twice and they were as good as new both times. They also come in these cute patterns too…
…they would make excellent Mother’s Day or graduation gifts!
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Backyard life.
Andrew has been heating the pool for the kids, and so, we’re already swimming! #tistheseason
This pic was from Sunday. We swam, we hung out, we had a great time! I took this pic as Smith was doing “the worm” across the deck to get to the spot where he wanted to jump off. Hahahaha! #neverdull
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
I have been LOVING working outside! I sit out on my patio and work for about three hours every day and I absolutely LOVE it! That being said, there will come a day when it’s just too dang hot to sit there. #hello105 So I am trying to soak it in as much as I can right now.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Books, blogging and travel…
Books: My latest cookbook Kids in the Kitchen is out! This book is perfect to use with your kids. I made it small (to fit in their hands), it lays flat (to make it easy for them to read and cook at the same time) and I made very kid-friendly but mama approved recipes. You can order your copy HERE. (And don’t forget, you can order Eats HERE too!)
Travel: You see all of those lovely people in that picture? We’re all going on a summer vacation together. All of us. My favorite clients happen to be my sweet family and this year, we decided to do one big trip together. I’m working, working, working on that along with other sweet clients’ trips too!
Right now, we are sending a gazillion people to Mexico to stay in all-inclusives. Families, couples, girlfriends, etc are booking those trips left and right!
If you are planning your 2017 or 2018 vacation, email us because we would love to help! We are currently accepting new client vacations for Walt Disney World, Mexican all-inclusives and cruises sailing in Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska.
Email us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Sum-mer!
Bring it.
I’m so ready.
This pic is from last May…and I’m so ready for it to be this May!
I love our summer routine, I love staying up late, I love our summer activities, I love our summer trips, I LOVE SUMMER.
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
I finished Gossip Girl, I finished The Crown, so now, I’m watching Call the Midwife thanks to your suggestions!! I asked about six months ago what I should be binge watching and several of you told me to binge this one and it’s so good! THANK YOU so much for the suggestion!!
And my April Book Review will be TOMORROW, but if you missed this one…
…from March, click HERE.
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Lots of Red Sox baseball. It makes me SO HAPPY!
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
Shorts and a tee. My daily uniform on repeat :).
I’m wearing the exact same shorts in both pics. They’re darker in person than online. And then I love a basic solid tee too.
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Hanging out with these people…
…Andrew is in South Africa this week, so it’s me and the peeps all weekend. We have some fun things planned!
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Boston baby!
13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
I don’t think anything else is new??? I think I’ve covered it all today! 🙂
Bonus question this month: What is your favorite spring/summer shoe?
Well, typically, I would have said wedges, but I’ve been really disappointed in the wedge department so far this season, therefore, I’ve been living in these…
…my new flip flops 🙂 . I just love those things! And I love that coverup too! (Also available in white!)
Okay! That’s What’s Up Wednesday today! If you blogged too, make sure you link up below.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
xo
Leslie Z. says
Okay, I’m glad I’m not the only one disappointed in the wedge department! I love the ones you have from last year and needed something similar for myself. I kept telling myself that maybe it’s too early in the season. No such luck!
Beth Jensen says
Best wedges I have ever had on my feet….TOMS! I bought the tan pair and needed, yes needed the black. I have worn them literally every day to school and they go with dresses, shorts, jeans, etc. They are soooo comfortable. I wore them to a trip to Vegas and everyone was surprised I was so happy in them. I will always be a wedge girl so I am so happy to have found these. 🙂 GO RED SOX…love my new SOX flag and am off to see them soon. Happy Summer is right!
Charmaine Ng | Architecture & Lifestyle Blog says
I actually don’t like sitting outside to work, am I the only one? Maybe it comes with living in the city and not having a house with a patio! But even on vacation, I hate to brighten my screen. I’m weird hahaha.

Make up question…Do you have a go to lip color for when you are wearing red/coral tops or dresses? I am having the hardest time this spring finding a color that pops without being overpowering?
Mix and Match Mama says
I wore Bobbi Brown’s blush the other day with that red dress from J Crew that I mentioned. It was nice and subtle.
Amy says
Hi did you end up keeping the Bp beaded sandal you mentioned? I’ve been eyeing them but wondering how they are in person and if comfortable
Mix and Match Mama says

Add Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” to your Netflix list. Very sweet show. It reminds me of the feel goodness from 7th Heaven and Touched by and Angel. Also have you tried “Army Wives”?
Casey says
So I just finished my early morning quiet time. I was about to go wake the kids when I realized I hadn’t read my Proverbs 31 devotion. So I opened it and said oh I need to read this asap, based on the title and then I’m reading and realize you wrote it :). It was so, so timely! We are in a huge waiting period with a job change coming at the end of the year, having no idea what my husband will be doing after, selling our house because we will most likely be out of state, but no real clue where we will be. We have peace about it and know God is getting us ready, but we are waiting for what feels like eternity for answers. We have kids so that makes things a little more tricky with schools. Anyway, all of that to say thanks for a great devotion this morning!
Narci Dreffs says
Oh, your Sunday afternoon looked perfect! I can’t wait for summer days!!!!! Xoxo

Hi from Joplin, MO!! I wanted to let you and your readers know I purchased your “Kids in the Kitchen” book for my grandson and me to use! My kids are grown (and frankly I had a parenting fail as far as cooking with my girls because I was so uptight), so I thought I would make some memories with my grand-guy. Thanks for the super cute book–can’t wait to start cooking up some memories with my sweet boy!!

Please read the Call The Midwife trilogy that the series is based from! So good!! I watched about half the series before I read the books. The books did not spoil the series or vice versa in my opinion but the books are much more detailed and give a lot of back story on the main characters. Love that show!
Courtney says
Just caught your blog piece on proverbs 31! Such an encouraging read. Thank you so much for writing that. It was just what I needed this morning.
Angela Ellingson says
You’re making me even more excited for summer!! I’ll have to add Call the Midwife to my list. I’ve been binge watching Friends lately and I definitely need a Netflix break after I’m done with it so I can get something done in my life. haha! 😉

Another show recommendation that I just finished is Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley. It’s HBO (I downloaded the app and binged it during the 7-day free trial). It’s only 7 episodes but it is SO good!!

Hi Shay,
I love following your blog because it’s always so inspiring and uplifting! This morning when I was doing my daily devotionals, I happened to see the one that you wrote – “When You See God’s Plan Unfold”. What a great testimony! God is ALWAYS good. It’s such a great reminder that everything happens in HIS timing….not ours, but we can be rest assured that God’s timing is always perfect.
Cheers from Toronto!

Can’t wait to hear where your whole family is going on vacation. There are 21 ( soon to be 23) of us in our immediate family ( kids, spouses and grandkids), and we all went to Disney World in January. It was so much fun! Usually we rent a beach house in Hilton Head for a week every other summer. I’d love to hear your ideas for large group, multi-generational vacations.
