Five Days of Fabulous: Hunter Boots for FIVE!!!


IT’S FIVE DAYS OF FABULOUS!!!!

If you’re new around here, let me explain…every year after Thanksgiving, Sheaffer and I celebrate the holidays with our readers by dedicating an entire week to AMAZING giveaways!  Five days, five different prizes, five winners…it’s all SO MUCH FUN!  It’s the one time of year that I feel like this…

We also post normal stuff during this week too (for instance, my book review is tomorrow!), but on top of the normal, are these extra fun Christmas giveaways.  (Plus, make sure you visit our Instagram accounts to watch us make fools of ourselves on video as well!)

This year, we’re combining some of our favorite giveaways from years past with new ones.  Ready for today’s giveaway?  Here we go…

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again…gifting Wellies is so much fun!  I’ve bought several ladies these boots in my family all in different colors, and they’re always a huge hit!!

Speaking of Wellies, let me share my tip again with you about cleaning them.  Andrew came up with this back in October and I just think it’s BRILLIANT!  Wellies tend to get cloudy as they sit in your closet over time, well, he just sprayed some Armor All over them and look how they shined right up?!

Speaking of fun…here’s a little look at our Thanksgiving week…

My in-laws were in town this week, and on Wednesday night, we had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner on Thanksgiving Eve 🙂 .  We always eat at Eddie V’s in Dallas and it did not disappoint!

These four were so pumped to have Nanny and Pawpaw in town!!

It was kind of like date night…plus six. 🙂

On Thanksgiving morning, I was enjoying a quiet morning with sweet Frenchie.

And then the whole gang woke up and we watched the parade together!

Meanwhile, outside our Thanksgiving dinner was smokin’ away!

We decided this year to eat Thanksgiving lunch out (a traditional lunch of turkey and dressing) at our country club and then eat dinner that night at home (pulled pork, baked potatoes, Caesar salad, homemade pimento cheese dip, Moscow Mules and blackberry cobbler!).  I love my new green dress that I wore to lunch 🙂 .

After lunch, Cheryll and I took Poppy and Madeley on a two mile walk around our neighborhood.

She started off all smiles…

…but then the turkey got her and she was out!

We watched football all afternoon, I made haystacks and then we enjoyed our dinner.  After my shower, I found them like this.  I am so thankful for these four.

The next afternoon, we headed to our historic town square for the annual Home for the Holidays event.  The city shuts down the square and it becomes a huge festival celebrating Christmas with the tree lighting that night.  There are food stalls, handmade jewelry and other fabulous things being sold, the shops are all open, games, a petting zoo and SO.MUCH.MORE.  It is my VERY favorite event each year in McKinney.

We were decked out in red and ready to roll!  Santa and Mrs. Claus were right there behind us welcoming us to the square 🙂 .

While Andrew, my mom and I were in the French antique shop, Papa Jay hung out with the kids by the Christmas trees.

I love my mama!!  (I also love my Christmas tee too 😉 !)

We rode the carousel too 🙂 .

And down the giant slide they went!  Do you see Smith’s head? 🙂

So much fun!

At one point, Samuel Facetime-ed us, so we all stopped to see that sweet smile of his 🙂 .

There was live music all day, and I caught these two dancing.  Ha!

We went to visit Frosty and the Grinch too.

Dinner at our favorite pizza place.  Want to know what Smith is doing back there?  Texting Uncle Seanie…and I promise you, he was texting naughty things back…sigh 😉 .

I love that this guy gets into the holidays with me!

And we wrapped up our night with silliness while we waited for the tree to be lit in the center of town.

Whew!  I was going to post Saturday’s pics on here today too…but geez that would be a long post, so I’ll share those later this week.  Happy Monday, friends!  THANK YOU so much for making blogging so much fun!  Sheaffer and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing these posts each year!!

    Just as a heads up – for all your readers who hold memberships to either Sam’s Club or Costco – both wholesalers carry Hunter boots during the holidays. Colors are limited and they go fast @ $85 in both stores….but its a great deal if you have a membership! And added heads up – certain stores carry certain colors – I hit two Costco’s last week and found some in hunter green at one store and baby blue in another! SCORE!!

      I did! I cooked Thanksgiving dinner! I even listed out everything I cooked (minus the pork, Andrew smoked that not me) 🙂 . This mama made a lot on Thanksgiving 🙂 .

    Your mother in law is gorgeous! Kensington definitely takes after her! So I’m just curious, is it typical to have a non-traditional thanksgiving dinner (as in no turkey, potatoes, etc) after a traditional thanksgiving lunch on thanksgiving? I’m hoping that question made sense lol. After eating a big thanksgiving feast for lunch, my pants would burst by dinner!!

      Ha! Well, we all kind of wanted to eat the turkey out of obligation to the holiday, but were more interested in eating the smoked pork (we had discussed this as a group in advance). We enjoyed lunch, but didn’t stuff ourselves, so by that evening (we ate around 7:00), we were ready for supper.

        Makes sense! I wasn’t sure if this was typical for Texas or just your preference. I think we all eat turkey out of obligation- no one seems to be a huge fan of it, but it’s just tradition. Hope you had a great thanksgiving.

    your thanksgiving meal has caught my attention! are those all your recipes? what do you serve the pimento cheese with? just crackers? i’m pretty sure your thanksgiving menu will be our christmas menu.

      Andrew smoked the pork, we made baked potatoes, a Caesar and then yes, I made a blackberry cobbler, mules (recipe coming in December!) and my dip recipe is TOMORROW!! We eat it with pita crackers 🙂 .

        well my question was perfect timing! thank you! can you mention in the post what pita chips you purchased? ???. we don’t typically buy those so i want to get one that is delicious aka whatever you eat! i am super excited to switch our menu! we’ve been doing {meatball mania} for the past several christmas day meals.
