Christmas in our House!


Happy Monday, friends!

We spent our weekend doing this…

Aren’t they so cute?!?! We had three performances on Saturday, and these girls did such a good job!  I can’t wait until next year when Miss Madeley dances too!

Today, I’m sharing some pics of our house this holiday season.  I do this every year, and even though things don’t change that much, I love these posts because I love looking into other’s homes during the holidays, so it’s only fair you get to peek into mine.  I’m such a “curl up on the couch with cocoa and a Christmas movie” kind of girl that seeing how others “do Christmas” in their home makes me so happy.  So, here’s a little look into our world this holiday season.

This year, we have two Advent calendars because we couldn’t get four pieces of candy to fit into the one we had last year 🙂 .  We bought this one at Weir’s and when you open a door, a little song plays.

Then, it was nap time.  We even take our sheets and quilt seriously during Christmas. 🙂

    LOVE your house!!! Kensington’s bed is perfect!!! PB kids?!?! Also, all the photos of the kids with Santa is adorable!! Just imagine when they’re grown and come back home for Christmas with their spouses & kids… those photos will be such a hit!!! I plan on doing the same, but so far I only have one photo hahah.

    Do you wear the Hunter boots even when it’s not raining? I have a pair of comfy rain boots but struggle if it’s “right” to wear them when it’s not raining.

    I LOVE all of the Christmas decor!! This is my little girl’s first Christmas, and everything is so much more fun this year! Question about the rain boots… I’m trying to decide whether to by Hunters or Ugg rain boots. I know you love your Hunters, but have you ever tried the Ugg ones?? If so, did you like?

      I have lots of Ugg boots, but when it comes to rain, no one does better than Hunters 🙂 .

      If I may, go with waterproof uggs especially If you live in a colder climate. Your feet will thank you! Hunters are cute but they are NOT warm and they are NOT comfortable for walking. My Ugg Brooks boots have been to Finland, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland and Spain during the dead of winter and my feet stayed nice and toasty!

        I would disagree! I love, love, love my Uggs, but I’ve worn my Hunters all over the world and they’ve kept my feet very warm (pick the right socks!) and dry.

          That is interesting! You are the only person I’ve ever heard say that. Maybe I like my waterproof uggs because I don’t have to worry about finding the right socks (you go barefoot!). I also find hunters to be clunky and heavy when doing a lot of walking compared to my lightweight uggs. Well, there’s something for everyone!

    Your trees are beautiful. Where do you put all your kids homemade ornaments? We have a magenta/blue/silver themed tree, but with school-aged children it is filled with memorable homemade or school ornaments, as well as ornaments we collect as we travel. Those are far more valuable to me than a pretty tree. I guess I may have to double up soon. A kids/festive tree and a nicely decorated/themed tree.

    Everything looks so cozy. I love that your kiddos have trees in their rooms. I used to do that with mine. 🙂 So, I visited Homeology a couple of weeks ago. That store is AMAZING. I wanted it all!

    One simple other thing this year for the holidays decoration. I changed my Keurig coffee maker lights. You can click in the setting the screen light to be red or green (an other colors) and then also the light for the water cooler. I picked red, which makes me smile for Christmas in the early morning (4:30). It’s the simple things.

    I have a question about the curtains/long curtain rod in your family room. Was it custom made or were you able to find one that size yourself? We have a long wall with windows and French doors and I am looking for something similar. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

    Shay where did you get that little dog pen that you have in Kensington’s room? I assume that’s where Frenchie sleeps.. it looks way more versatile/comfy than a crate would be. I’d love it if you could share details 🙂

      It’s Viking, and I love it! I considered Wolf too and they’re also great, but I just kept coming back to the Viking. The range is probably my favorite part of my house 🙂 .
