Happy Monday, friends!
My kiddos are off from school today, and the five of us have some big plans! #ijustloveaholidaymonday
Today’s post has a little bit of everything…but it’s all about the kids. Over the weekend, we had our Family Valentine Dance at the big kids’ school. This is always one of our favorite things to do…and Miss Ashby LOVES going, so we all kind of held our breath and hoped she was able to attend. Plus, Nordstrom reached out to me and asked if I would talk about kids stuff today and since I pretty much do that every day, it was easy to accept (and they’re my FAVORITE place to buy shoes and clothes for kids because of their amazing return policy and customer service!!). Last week in particular, I had so many comments on my Week in the Life post about my little girls’ shoes, so that was an easy place to start. You ladies were asking about these…
…and friends, THEY’RE GO WALKS!
You know how I always talk about Go Walks for me (the world’s comfiest shoe that I swear you must take with you on any vacation where any sort of walking is involved)…well, they make a kid version too. My girls are obsessed with theirs. They love them because they’re comfy and cute, but I love them because THEY CAN PUT THEM ON BY THEMSELVES! (And all the mamas of small children said AMEN!) At my girls’ school, they have to wear sneaker type shoes, so these work for that too. One last thing and then I’ll stop gushing…they machine wash easy peasy and then we let them air dry. You can find Madeley’s HERE and Ashby’s color is sold out, but you can find a pink version HERE. Speaking of shoes, you ladies know how much I love my girls’ wearing these…
…they’re Mini Melissa brand. I’ve talked about these shoes for YEARS! I love them because they’re cute enough to wear to dinner, church, school, the park…everywhere plus, I can just rinse them off if they get dirty, they don’t scuff up AND they smell like strawberry on the inside 🙂 . Isn’t that funny?! Plus, yet again, my two littles can put them on themselves. #woohoo You can see them HERE. Ashby has multi glitter and Madeley has pink glitter. Even Kensington wears the big girl version 🙂 . Just for grins, here are some other shoes I love for girls…
…scroll and click. There are some REALLY cute shoes right now at Nordstrom!
On Friday morning, Ashby was not doing well after her procedure, so my mama came up and picked up this one for the night…
…it’s a shame she wasn’t excited about going with Lovie 🙂 . This way, she could play hard with the grandparents while I cuddled and loved on her big sister. (And pssssst: since Ashby can’t wear long sleeves with her cast and sling, I bought them these short-sleeve dresses and leggings for the dance that night. Madeley wanted to wear hers to Lovie’s house.) I am pretty obsessed with everything Mini Boden 🙂 .
Ashby really wanted to go to the dance, and after a nap, a bath, and 5 pigs in a blanket she felt ready to go. Sweet girl!!
First stop, our annual pizza dinner with the Slaughters before we went to the dance.
When you ask two second grade boys to smile.
These five big kids watching the pizza get made.
After a yummy pizza dinner, we went to the dance. This year’s theme…black light!
Hahahahaha! It was such a fun idea!!
Ashby was doing pretty good. I think she was trying to be in the moment, but didn’t feel like herself. After 45 minutes, she asked me to take her home, so I did (and then Andrew and K stayed and walked home).
They were passing out glow sticks and adding glow in the dark paint to people’s faces too.
I just love doing life with Erika and her family!!
Ashby and Bowen are so excited to go to school here next year!
These two girls!!! They’re getting so BIG!!! They were having the BEST TIME!
They got some neon paint on their face and were VERY happy about it 🙂 .
For a quick minute, the lights came on and we watched the fifth graders square dance…ha!
Do you see our girls dancing? They were having a BLAST!! It was such a fun family night. We love our school so much :).
So, that’s it for today. Now, I’m off to spend the day with my kiddos. One more thing before we go…
…I found these swimsuits for my littles at Nordstrom and went ahead and got them for summer. I always buy two piece swimsuits because it’s so much easier to take a kid potty when they have on two pieces. It only took me like 8 years of motherhood to figure that out 😉 .
See you tomorrow, friends! xo
